Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Ambigram - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - Chapter 03

Summary: AU In where Tsuna and Xanxus grew up together, watching each other's back... where innocence was tainted since the start... One Miura Haru finds herself in a various precarious situation 2786/TsunaxHaru

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC and I guess I'll explain some stuff at the end of the chapter, just so I won't spoil things! XD

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. lol, i still don't understand the beta system thing and I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Chapter Three: Distraction II

HappyFace1886

“Do you understand what you’re doing, dame-Tsuna?” two toned eyes turned its icy glare at the small infant sitting on the desk. The half-open blinds of the window allowed minimal amount of sunlight to enter, causing shadows to invade the already darkened room. Tsuna turned away from the window. Parts of him were decorated by the orange glow of the sun, but the rest of him was encased within the darkness.

“Don’t you think I’m past being dame-Tsuna, Reborn?”

Reborn lifted his fedora hat, but instead of the subtle grin he would normally grace Tsuna with, there was a grim thinning of his lips. “You still have ways to go.”

Tsuna shrugged carelessly. “And I’ll learn. I always do.”

Reborn didn’t reply.

“Do you really believe I haven’t given it a single thought?” Tsuna placed his hands on the window sills and leaned back. He looked up at the bare yellowing ceiling. Due to the importance of secrecy, he and Reborn had met up in an old run-down motel. It almost made him laugh, the situation he was in. Years ago, he would have never even dreamed of being here. Tsuna slowly shook his head. “I’m not entirely heartless.”

“The mafia changed you.” Reborn mused.

“Everyone changes.”

Reborn looked at Tsuna straight in the eye. “It was too early for you.”

Tsuna let out a mirthless chuckle. “Why do you keep saying that? Everyone here grew up with the mafia. Why should I be any different?”

“Because you are the heir of Vongola.”

“Eh? Haru-chan, what are you doing?” Dante, carrying a large pile of dirty dishes, peered over at the hunched over young woman who was obsessively going over the books in front of her. She was sitting in the corner of the backroom, barely seen over the stacked books in front of her. “It’s near the end of summer and school is going to start soon. You should enjoy it while you have the time.”

“Sorry Dante-san, but I’m trying to find information on Vongola.”

Dante choked on his own spit. “W-What? Not this again! Haru-chan, I thought we went over the fact that the Vongola Family aren’t anything but a bunch of people who take care of the town.”

Haru paused and glanced up at Dante. “But why are they protecting this town? And if they’re doing it because it’s the right thing to do, why won’t you tell me more about it? Then there’s that pervert man.” Haru’s expression darkened and Dante shivered. “If the Vongola Family is a group of justice, why is a pervert like him with them?”

When Haru immediately dove back into her readings, Dante groaned and would have face-palmed if it wasn’t for the stacks of dishes in his hands. Instead, he began to trudge towards the kitchen. Damn Haru’s father for not telling him about Haru’s lack of knowledge of the Vongola. Once he got a hold of that man, he was in for it.

By now, Dante would have told Haru about the Vongola and their connections, but Haru just had to make things complicated by bringing that man into his restaurant.

Sawada Tsunayoshi...

The frigging heir to said Vongola Familia.

Dante placed the dishes on the table and then groaned, banging his head into a nearby wall. Seriously, why him? Out of all the people she could have run into, how did she run into the elusive heir? It really made no sense for Dante.

“Uh... boss?” one of the workers called out cautiously.

“And that brat just had to threaten me, ordering me not to tell her anything!” Dante continued to complain to the wall, never ceasing in his self-beating. “I don’t get it! What is he playing at? Argh, and not only that, Haru’s dad won’t even pick up that phone! I swear, that guy knows this is happening and is trying to make my life even more miserable!”

“Boss?” the worker said louder.

“Why is my life always so fucked up? I mean, who does that Vongola brat think he is, telling me what to do like that? I could beat him if I wanted to! He’s a shrimp! One good kick on the head and-.”

“Boss!” the worker yelled, growing paler with each insult Dante spat out.

“What?” Dante snarled, ignoring how red his forehead was due to the beating he gave himself. The anger immediately disappeared, replaced by terror when he saw a familiar smirking ‘brat’ leaning against the counter separating the kitchen from the rest of the shop.

“Hello Dante,” Tsuna said coolly, the grin never leaving his face.

“S-S-S-S-Sawada-sama!” Dante sputtered out while the rest of his workers scurried away.

Tsuna easily hopped over the counter and casually strolled over to Dante. “How have you been, Dante?”

“F-Fine,” Dante stammered. Ye gods, he was dead. There was no way the heir of the Vongola Family would allow him to get away with such impudence. It was a good thing that Sawada-sama’s brash right hand man wasn’t here to have heard that or else the entire shop would have been blown to smithereens. “H-H-How can I help you?”

“Where is Haru-chan?” the grin grew and Dante felt a cold shiver go down his spine. This time, it wasn’t because of the intimidating man, but because of his memory of how Haru threatened to make his life miserable if he told Tsuna where Haru was. For someone so cute and small, she sure looked frightening when angered.

“I..” Dante’s mind was begging him to stall, to create time so that he can make some pathetic excuse that would sound plausible. “She’s...”

The grin began to fade and Dante could see the hint of impatience on Tsuna’s face.

“Dante,” Tsuna said slowly, taking a step forward.

“She’s sick!” Dante practically yelled out.

Tsuna stopped. “What?”

“E-Er, she came down with a cold last night so she’s resting right now.” Dante couldn’t believe his genius. Now there was no way he would go and bother Haru. After all, why would the great Vongola heir greet someone who might have an infectious sickness? Dante proudly gave himself a mental nod of approval. Of course Sawada-sama would do no such thing. It was beneath him!

“Where?”

Dante almost jumped. “E-Excuse me?”

“Where is she?” Tsuna demanded.

“Uh... that way?” Dante pointed towards the door that led to the backroom. He stared openly as Tsuna stormed towards there. By the time Tsuna was gone, Dante realized what he had just done and groaned out loud, giving himself a hard face-palm. “Crap!”

“I don’t understand,” Haru grumbled, placing the book she had finished to the side while grabbing the next one. “The Vongola Family must not be a very old organization since they don’t appear in any history books. There are some mentions of the Family in these old autobiographies, but they don’t really explain much about them. They just keep going on and on about the greatness of them.”

Haru stared glumly at the worn out maroon book in front of her. It was so thick and the print was so small. Normally Haru adored reading, but the lack of success she was getting was draining her spirit. She sighed and leaned forward, resting her forehead against the pages.

Maybe she should just-...

The face of a certain arrogant, pervert man came into her head and Haru’s head shot up.

No!

She couldn’t give up!

She would find out more about the Vongola so that the crazy guy will stay away from her. After all, if the Vongola were on the side of justice, they would surely do something to make sure that stalkerish guy will stay away from her.

“Yes, Haru will never give up until she finds out more about Vongola!”

With renewed vigor, Haru began to flip through the pages.

Tsuna’s hand paused before the thick wooden door, having heard Haru’s loud and energetic proclamation. Slowly, he began to pull his hand away, openly staring at the door yet not really seeing it. He could practically see Haru’s eyes burning with passion and determination as she would become absorb into the letters of the books.

His lips curled into a smile before he found himself chuckling.

“Until the day I take my last breath, the power of the Vongola Family will continue to be the one and only thing I will fear,” Haru muttered, reading the lines of the maroon book. “There are many who know of the Vongola, but there are also those who are not aware of their gruesome power or of who they are at all. This is-.”

A hand snaked itself around her waist and Haru felt lips lightly brushing against her nape, causing a shiver to strike down her spine. Before she could scream, a hand shot out and clamped around her mouth. She tried to turn around to face her attacker, but the hand around her waist kept her steady and instead pulled her back until she was pressed against a solid chest.

The lips pressed against her neck were soft and gentle, placing light nips against her delicate skin. She trembled with fear and felt disgusted at the warmth she felt from the person’s touch. Damn it, because of that perverted jerk, her body isn’t reacting properly to situations anymore! She’s supposed to feel fear! Fear! Not... this... this whatever this was!

She tried to scream out against the hand, but it remained firmly on top of her mouth. The lips trailed up her neck until they reached her ear. She couldn’t stop her gasp as she felt the person’s mouth latch onto her ear, sucking on it lovingly before trailing a wet tongue over the shell of her ear.

“Are you that interested in the Vongola?” an all too familiar voice purred out. “Ne, Haru-chan?”

Haru’s body stiffened in outrage and she began to struggle even harder under his grasp. Tsuna laughed when he heard and felt her angry scream. He pulled her closer until she was settled on top of his lap before he buried his face into the back of her neck. Breathing in deeply, he tightened his grip around her waist.

Almost as though she sensed the change in him, Haru paused in her fighting and would have looked at him in confusion if she wasn’t caught in his hold.

When he felt her become still, he pulled his hand away from her mouth and wrapped his other hand around her waist as well. Tsuna had his eyes closed with his head still resting against her. His conversation with Reborn earlier was still weighing heavily in his mind.

Damn, if it had been anyone but Reborn, no one would have noticed. Even Yamamoto, with his intuition, couldn’t tell if Tsuna was lying if Tsuna tried hard enough. But with Reborn, nothing escaped his sharp eyes.

“This isn’t like with the other girls.” Reborn, standing on top of a table, commented calmly.

Tsuna tilted his head, sitting casually on top of an old green chair of the raggedy motel room. “What are you talking about?”

He yelped when Reborn smacked him on the head. “Don’t pretend to be stupid, dame-Tsuna. A week has passed and your interest in that foreign girl hasn’t disappeared.”

“So, my interest is lasting a little longer.” Tsuna shrugged. “It’ll fade away soon enough.”

“But what if it doesn’t?” Reborn asked. “What if your interest in her only continues to grow?”

“Don’t worry, it won’t.” Tsuna waved the question away, only to yelp again when this time, Reborn shot a rubber bullet at him with his gun. Tsuna hissed and began to rub his sore arm. “Did you have to do that?”

“Stop acting stupid.”

“But I’m not,” Tsuna grumbled.

Reborn shook his head ruefully. “It was too early to introduce you to the Mafia.”

Tsuna would have rolled his eyes if he hadn’t seen that Reborn still had his hand on the gun. “Don’t say that. If I hadn’t been brought into the mafia as early as I did, things would be a lot difficult for us right now.”

“Don’t be arrogant. Vongola would not have crumbled just because you weren’t here.”

“I’m not saying it would have,” Tsuna leaned against the chair. “I’m saying things would just be more complicated.”

“But less dangerous.”

Tsuna narrowed his eyes. “What makes you say that?”

“Because the burden would not be as great as it is now.”

“Pervert-san?” Haru’s voice cut off his memory.

Tsuna relaxed his tense body and sighed. “Must you continue to call me a pervert?”

“But you are a pervert.” Haru replied easily and Tsuna laughed softly, never moving from his position. It felt so nice having her so close to him, to have her scent completely surrounding him.

“What am I going to do with you?”

Haru furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. Now what was he going on about? “What?”

“Haha, I said distract me some more.” Tsuna whispered into her ear.

“No, you said-.” Haru’s words were cut off as she felt lips pressed against her own. She stared openly in surprise, unmoving even when Tsuna’s hand caressed her cheek. It wasn’t until she felt his tongue skimming the seams of her lips that she finally reacted.

With a loud squeak, she pressed her hands against his chest, trying to push him away. She felt him chuckle against her lips before he pulled away. Soft, dazed brown eyes clashed with laughing orange-red as he whispered seductively against her reddening lips.

“Distract me.”

  1. Whoa. Very intense here. :) I like how you are capturing Reborn and Tsuna's interaction here and how Tsuna's mindset is actually working in this mafia world and all. What's more, it's quite apparent that Haru has landed herself in quite a situation (with the Vongola's heir, no less ^^;) and is trying her best to get out of it. XD Though I doubt she will get out of it anytime soon. Poor Haru...

I would love to see how this Tsuna plays out, as well as how Haru responds to his "distract me" response. :3 It would be so interesting to watch! *w*

Keep it up! You're doing wonderfully. \o/ -waits patiently for your next chapter, because she doesn't mind so much about updating soon as much as quality of the chapter-
