Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Notice - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - 0086

ONESHOT

Summary: He had always been in the background, always shying away from others... and so it was no wonder he was so surprised when she approached him. 0086 / EnmaxHaru

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC and I guess I'll explain some stuff at the end of the chapter, just so I won't spoil things! XD

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!
Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. lol, i still don't understand the beta system thing and I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Hi, this was just something I ended up writing while writing Kyuun's prize. This was the one I was originally going to send her, but I didn't like it so I rewrote it. I guess this can be considered a prequel to Even Good Boys Won't Share Everything. I figured I might as well share this with anyone who cares. xD Anyways, hope you enjoy. I must drown in stupid academic work while considering the next chapter for Teach Me Love. After that, I will update Ambigram, Genesis, and a R86 oneshot... in that respective order.

When she had first bumped into him, it had been by total coincidence. Having ended school early after finishing up her cleaning duties, Haru had been on her way home when she had decided to take the scenic path next to the river. She had the time, after all, and once she got home, she planned to change and visit Tsuna-san at his house!

But as she stared admiringly at the sparkling clear water, she noticed a slumped over figure sitting next to the river. There was a dark aura surrounding the person and she saw how some of the people who had been walking ahead of her on the path watching wearily at the strange figure before quickening their pace.

Only a few seconds passed before the entire area was cleared of people.

However, Haru felt her footsteps come to a halt when she noticed that right next to the gloomy person was a small puppy whining and rubbing against the person’s side. There appeared to be a moment of hesitation before the person’s hand reached out to pet the puppy on the head. The puppy immediately yipped in delight before jumping on the person’s lap, eager for more attention.

Though she still couldn’t see the person’s face, it was obvious that person was taken off guard by the bout of affection and remained frozen. It made Haru giggle out loud. The startled person turned around and, much to Haru’s delight, she realized she knew who it was.

“Enma-san!” she called out, making her way down towards him. He stared at her dumbly for a moment before looking down, his hand unconsciously reached out to stroke the comforting warm fur of the puppy. “”Enma-san, remember me?”

“A-Aa,” he replied timidly, looking everywhere but at her.

“Did school end early for you as well?” she inquired politely, tilting her head while crouching down beside him? “If that’s the case, why aren’t you with Tsuna-san and the others?”

Enma seemed to shrink down even more by her questions and seemed to focus the majority of his attention on the puppy. At first, Haru thought he wasn’t going to respond, but she heard a very quiet voice reply. “I... didn’t go...”

“Hahi? That’s no good Enma-san! School is important so you should try to go everyday! And not to mention, it’s a lot of fun since you’re surrounded by friends.” She said cheerfully. Unfortunately, her optimism only seemed to cause Enma to turn away from her. It caused her smile to dim a bit, but she didn’t allow that to deter her. “Is everything alright, Enma-san?”

“I-It’s nothing,” his trembling hands paused in stroking the puppy and the little thing whimpered for more of the heavenly scratches.

“Haru heard that it helps to talk about your problems,” she supplied helpfully, reaching out to stroke the puppy’s soft ears. Discovering that there was another source of affection, the puppy slightly tilted its head and licked her fingers gratefully.

Enma shook his head. “It’s okay...”

Haru tilted her head. “There’s no need to be afraid.”

At her soft and reassuring words, Enma’s head snapped upward and towards her. She smiled encouragingly at him for added effect and this time, Enma didn’t completely turn away from her. Instead, his gaze lowered slightly onto the puppy snuggling on top of his leg. “H-How-I mean... I’m not afraid...”

“Haru is Enma-san’s friend! If he wants to keep it a secret, she won’t tell a soul! Not even Tsuna-san will know, no matter how much he digs and pries!” she vowed heartily and almost giggled at the look of surprise on Enma’s face. It had been obvious that the source of his turmoil was Tsuna. Haru hadn’t been blind of the close bond shared by the two. It was a sort of friendship not often seen, even deeper than perhaps the one Tsuna shared with Gokudera or Yamamoto.

At the demonstration of her keen intuition, Enma seemed to deflate. “It’s nothing much. I... I just have stupid thoughts sometimes.”

“If they’re so stupid, there should be no reason to not share. We can just laugh about it together instead.” She turned her gaze away from him, noticing his strong discomfort at how her eyes were on him, and instead focused them on the puppy that seemed to melt under her touch.

Her words were so comforting.

Though Enma loved his famiglia, they could never seem to express words in ways he wanted to hear. The majority of them was often callous and sometimes left him feeling gloomier than before. In a way, hearing her speak such words... filled him with a warmth that rarely reached him.

But still, she was Tsuna’s friend. She was closer to him. Who was to say that if he was to tell her his problems, she wouldn’t judge him?

Enma lowered his head once more. “You wouldn’t want to listen. If you knew the truth... you’d find me disgusting and evil...”

“Hahi, that’s not true! Enma-san is a very nice person! No matter what you did, even if you think it’s really bad, I’m sure you’ll find a way to fix it.” She yelled so passionately that both Enma and the puppy jumped in surprise. “Everyone makes mistakes! Just because we did something wrong doesn’t mean we’ll be condemned for it forever!”

Her words struck a chord with him, but he continued to resist. Her solutions to things were just too easy and if there was one thing Enma understood clearly, it was that nothing in life was easy. “Even if we all make mistakes, that doesn’t mean that it’s possible to gain forgiveness.”

“So then fight for the right to be forgiven!” Haru continued, undaunted by his reply. “That’s what it means to atone and be forgiven. We have to earn the forgiveness! So no matter how long it takes, we have to struggle to make things right... because that’s how important it is to us. Haru... Haru doesn’t know what it is that is hurting Enma-san so much, but she doesn’t think that just thinking about it will solve anything! If you truly want to make things right, you’ll do something about it because it’s worth all the effort putting into. And because both Enma-san and Tsuna-san are great and nice people, Haru is sure that everything will be resolved if you two talk to each other.”

The logic behind her words seemed to reasonable in Enma’s mind... but her unwavering faith in him stunned him. “You’ve only known me for a few weeks. What makes you think that I’m really nice?”

At this, Haru’s features relaxed and the serene smile returned to her face. She reached out and took the puppy from Enma’s lap, lifting it up towards him. “Because like babies, animals are innocent creatures who know the difference between good and evil and Haru saw how instead of shooing the poor puppy away, you let him snuggle against you. No bad person would have done that. Besides...”

Enma blinked at her in confusion.

Besides?

“Haru has always noticed Enma-san and she’s always seen how happy he is whenever he’s around Tsuna-san and the others.” She replied with a teasing wink, waving the puppy’s paw towards his direction.

The puppy whined and Haru laughed, setting it on her lap so that she could scratch its fluffy belly. And while doing so, she completely missed the heavy blush that decided to settle on top of Enma’s cheeks.

Even Good Boys Won't Share Everything

HappyFace1886

Day 1

“Enma-san!” Tsuna’s ears perked up at the sound of Haru’s voice calling out for another name the moment she entered Namimori Junior High’s school grounds. He paused and turned around just in time to see Haru run towards the sullen boy whose face seemed to perk up at the sight of her. She stopped in front of him and the two begin the chat with Haru laughing cheerfully here and then.

In fact, a full ten minutes seemed to pass before she realized that Tsuna was not so far off from her. She turned to him and smiled at him, waving energetically at him. However, he noticed how she didn’t make a move to come to him as she usually did. Instead, she turned back to continue talking to Enma.

He couldn’t stop the frown that made its way to his face and felt his chest tighten up a bit. However, Tsuna jumped when a finger poked him on the shoulder. With a surprised yelp, he whirled around and felt his heart speed up when he realized who it was that had poked him. “K-K-K-Kyoko-chan!”

“Are you ready?” she inquired.

“Ah, yes, yes I am!” he said, accidentally speaking extra loud due to how nervous he was. Because of a school project, the two were going to the store to pick up some supplies. He had been excited about that all day and had been looking forward to the end of the day for so long.

...but...

His gaze ventured back towards where Haru and Enma were laughing together and felt his heart squeeze a bit harder when he saw how Enma suddenly grabbed Haru’s hand and was pulling her towards the school gates... the way Haru’s face changed to that of surprise before she flushed brilliantly, unresisting of his touch...

Day 2

“Enma-san!” This time, Tsuna’s entire body froze as he heard Haru’s voice calling out for Enma again. This time, she noticed him before she made it to Enma. However, instead of stopping to greet him, she merely gave Tsuna an amiable wave before stopping in front of the Decimo of the Shimon Famiglia.

Tsuna’s frown returned once more and he couldn’t help but feel confused by it. What was with this sense of irritation whenever he noticed the two so close together? And why was he frustrated by how Haru seemed to zip past him these days? In the past, he had been so annoyed by how she’d literally tackle him and exuberantly greet him right in front of his face.

And just like the day before, Enma grabbed Haru by the hand and the two went running out of the school. This time, she appeared more comfortable with his touch, as if they had held hands several times by now.

At that thought, the frown on Tsuna’s face became more pronounced while his eyes trailed after the disappearing duo.

Day 3

“Enma-san!” this time, when Tsuna heard Haru crying out another boy’s name for the third time in a row, he winced unwillingly. Unfortunately, this time he was with other people. Yamamoto seemed to notice and gave him a questioningly glance while Gokudera was yelling wildly at Haru for being loud and startling the Decimo from his very ‘important, deep’ thoughts.

“Stupid woman, stop with your incessant yelling!”

She stuck her tongue out at him in reply. “Haru will do whatever she wants! And it wasn’t like she was calling out to you! She was calling out to Enma-san!”

“E-Enma-san?” Gokudera sputtered out. Apparently Tsuna wasn’t the only one surprised by how her customary greeting now seemed to be turned towards his literal counterpart.

As if to emphasize who it was she was talking about, she linked her arm around Enma’s, completely oblivious to how his face flushed up. “Yes, Enma-san. We have a date together!”

At her announcement, Tsuna almost choked, Yamamoto looked like he might have choked, and Gokudera literally choked on his own spit. Coughing loudly, the silver haired boy stared incredulously at the shy red haired boy whose face seemed to now be the same shade of color as his hair. “D-D-D-Date?”

Haru laughed at Gokudera’s reaction. “Yes, a date!”

Yamamoto was the first to regain his composure, the ever presence friendly smile on his face. “Do you mean a literal date Haru-chan? Or that you two have plans together?”

Tsuna’s heart rose up with hope at Yamamoto’s words. Of course, just because she said date didn’t mean it was a literal date! It could have just meant that they had plans to do something together. Trying to hide the eagerness from his face, he glanced at Haru whose face had a light dust of pink on it.

“Y-Yamamoto-san, of course it’s just p-p-plans together!” Haru squeaked out. Oh goodness, did she have to be so insensible sometimes? Think of the embarrassment she was putting Enma through! She was about to release her hold on Enma’s arm, feeling bashful and embarrassed, when Enma instead grabbed her hand before she could completely let go of him. Her startled brown eyes turned to him, but he was gazing at the three boys instead.

“Sorry, but we’re going to be late.” Enma informed, tightening his grip on Haru’s hand. His words made Haru forget how he almost seemed to be possessively holding onto her hand, as if he was trying to show potential rivals of his claim over her. Instead, her free hand covered her mouth.

“That’s right, we have to hurry!” she gave Tsuna, Gokudera, and Yamamoto apologetic smiles. “C’mon Enma-san, let’s go!”

By the time they were out through the school gates, Gokudera managed to close his mouth and straighten himself. “That loud-mouth and the Decimo of then Shimon Famiglia?”

Yamamoto shrugged. “Haru-chan has always been the friendly one.”

“Yeah, but did you see the way he was holding her hand?” Gokudera growled out, stuffing his hands into his jean pockets. “As if he didn’t know what he was doing! Only that stupid woman probably doesn’t know what he was trying to say with that.”

While the two continued talk, Tsuna trailed behind them in a half-step.

Just what had Enma tried to say with that?

A part of Tsuna knew what Enma had meant, but a part of him, a foreign part of Tsuna that he was now learning about, understood and seethed with unhappiness.

Day 4

“Enma-kun?” Tsuna inquired gently, hesitation and caution preventing him from cheerfully greeting him. This time, he had caught Enma before Haru arrived. It hadn’t been hard to find Enma since recently he had had the habit of standing beneath a particularly tree as he waited for Haru.

Enma turned to him and smile. “Hi Tsuna-kun.”

Anxiety almost got the better of Tsuna, making him nearly high-tail it out of here. But Haru was going to be here any minute and it was now or never. “I-I was just wondering... You and Haru-chan have been running off together a lot lately... a-and so, I was just curious about what you two were doing. Mind if I come along this time?”

The red-haired boy blinked dumbly at him and Tsuna saw the uncertainty in his eyes. There were a few breaths of uncomfortable silence as the two shuffled around before Enma gave a slow nod. “Yeah... I don’t mind and I’m sure Haru-chan won’t mind either...”

The breath Tsuna hadn’t even know he was holding came out, just in time as Haru came running through the school gates. “Enma-san! Eh? Tsuna-san?”

The way Haru seemed to question his presence almost made Tsuna wince all over again. However, it was easy to recover since the curiosity was quickly replaced with the warmth he was familiar with from her. “H-Hi Haru-chan.”

“Tsuna-kun’s going to come with us today.” Enma explained to Haru, giving her such a fond smile that Tsuna was startled by how he had never noticed the affection Enma showed Haru whenever the two had met the past few days. He had been too preoccupied by the sudden changes, that he had been completely unaware of it.

Haru clapped her hands together with clear delight. “Hahi, that’s wonderful! I’m sure he’ll enjoy the company!”

Tsuna’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. There was another person? “He?”

“Eh? Enma-san didn’t explain it to Tsuna-san?”

Enma shook his head. “No, I didn’t really have the chance.”

Haru giggled. “Then I’m sure Tsuna-san will be really surprised when he meets him.”

Tsuna laughed nervously, suddenly very nervous about whom this ‘he’ might possibly be. “W-Well then, shall we go?”

“Yes, yes, let’s go!” Haru said energetically and didn’t even seem to notice how Enma automatically reached for her hand.

The sight of their joined hands irritated Tsuna so much that combined with the welled up frustration from the past few days, he ended up acting without taking into consideration of the consequences. Before Enma could start guiding Haru to the school gates, Tsuna’s hand shot out and he ended up grabbing Haru’s other hand.

The action surprised all three of them and Tsuna’s face flushed when he realized he was really holding Haru’s hand. “I-er-that is... well, you know, this is my first time going with you guys. Just want to be extra careful not to get... erm... lost?”

However, despite his embarrassment, something in Tsuna seemed to melt when he saw how his touch still seemed to affect Haru. Her cheeks had turned pink and she was looking at everywhere but at him. She also seemed to have accepted his lame excuse since she wasn’t pulling away, but Tsuna could feel another set of eyes on him.

He didn’t need to look up to know that it was Enma staring at him.

“W-Well then, l-l-let’s go.” Haru stammered out, now quite aware of how there seemed to be a growing tension surrounding them. She didn’t understand where it was coming from though, but her heart was pounding almost painfully in her chest at how Tsuna-san was holding her hand.

She had blushed so much and had babbled nonsense the entire time when Enma had held her hand for the first time... but though it still made her heart skip a beat, she had accepted his explanation of why he was holding her hand. Tsuna-san’s explanation also made sense since he wasn’t familiar with where they were going... but still... now that both of these two were holding her hand, Haru felt as though her head was going to explode.

And it didn’t help at how these two seemed to be tightening their hold over her hand for some reason...

Tsuna was all too aware of how Enma previously friendly presence seemed to have diminished a bit. Don’t get them wrong, they were still friends... but there was now seemed to be a strain between them.

A part of Tsuna was going crazy over how it was almost like he was picking a fight for something he himself didn’t even understand... but another part of him knew that if he didn’t do this, he was going to regret it. Something was happening with Haru and Enma... and one thing was for sure, he didn’t like it.

Their surroundings began to change as the buildings grew smaller and soon, he caught the sound of water flowing. They were nearing a river that ran underneath a towering bridge that was close to the outskirts of the city. Though the bridge was normally easy to get to since it was around a ten minute walk from the school, with the heavy atmosphere surrounding them, it seemed to have taken a century.

“W-Who are we meeting?” Tsuna ventured out, hoping to life the tension even a little.

Haru perked up at the question. “Hahi, now that would be giving away the surprise! But Haru knows for sure that you’ll be completely surprised by who you’re about to meet.”

The nervous laugh returned as his imagination began to run wild at what kind of person it could be that might surprise him.

“Haru-chan, let help you get down.” Enma suddenly spoke, turning his piercing gaze at Tsuna. The Decimo of the Vongola’s first reaction was to resist Enma’s unspoken command to let go, but he relented only because Enma was trying to help Haru walk down the rough terrain that would lead to area next to the river.

Had that been the excuse Enma had given so he could hold Haru’s hand every day?

Whatever the case may be, Tsuna trailed after them and almost fell several times due to his clumsiness. His wounded pride was only saved by how sometimes Enma would also stumble and Haru would have to be the one to pull him back so he wouldn’t fall.

By the time they were at the bottom, Enma and Tsuna were both exhausted while Haru was still full of energy. She went running towards under the bridge, calling out to an ‘Aka-chan’.

Great... he was going to meet someone named ‘red’. Tsuna could only wonder just how fitting the name was going to be.

“Tsuna-kun,” Enma suddenly spoke once he managed to catch his breath and tsuna looked at him inquisitively. “Do you like Haru-chan?”

Taken completely off guard by the question, Tsuna promptly slipped and fell backwards.

“Eh?” the brown haired boy yelped out so loud that it echoed around them. Tsuna immediately looked to see if Haru heard, but she still hadn’t returned from under the bridge. Sighing in relief, he stood up to face Enma with his face completely red. “W-W-What makes you think that?”

“I... I really like Haru-chan,” Enma spoke with a serious tone, though his face was once again as flaming red as his hair. His honesty took Tsuna by surprise and he could only gawk openly at him. “She’s really nice and w-when I was having a hard time coming in terms to how I tried... tried to kill you, she was the one who helped me out.”

This new information surprised Tsuna. Though now that he thought about it carefully, there had been a moment after the whole Inheritance and Daemon Spade situation where Enma had avoided everyone, including his own Famiglia. It saddened and also made Tsuna guilty of how he hadn’t noticed how burdened Enma had felt with his own emotions.

But how did Haru-chan play into all this?

“It was around here,” Enma murmured quietly and Tsuna could practically see his mind replaying the scenes, especially with how tender Enma’s expression was. “She appeared out of nowhere and somehow seemed to know what it was I was feeling... and after that, she kept coming and we got to know each other. Actually, she’s the one who got me to confront you about... about the whole incident.”

Tsuna nodded, remembering how Enma had approached him one day at his house. The two had talked a long time together, coming in terms with the past of their ancestors and of what had happened to them in the present. It had ended so amicably that Tsuna couldn’t help but feel as though he and Enma could really become friends after that. Previously, he had already seen Enma as a kindred spirit... but after Yamamoto had nearly been killed, that feeling had been strained, even if he truly accepted Enma for who he was in the end... but after their talk, everything had felt so refreshing.

...so it had been Haru who helped to instigate it all...

“She never judged me even though she was closer to you than she was to me... even when I told her that I tried to kill you, she didn’t even bat an eye. She just... listened.” Enma reached up to touch his chest, wrapped his fingers around his shirt. His heart was beating so fast, the memory of how Haru had sat silently beside him while he had tried his best not to actually cry was so vivid in his mind. “And after I was done, she encouraged me to talk to you... because she believed that I was a kind person, even with all that I did.”

“Yeah,” Tsuna murmured. “That sounds like Haru-chan...”

“I really like her, Tsuna-kun.” Enma said firmly, even if he blushed once more at the confession. “And... And, well, I thought you like Kyoko-chan.”

The accusation made Tsuna blink before he literally stepped several step backwards. “W-W-W-W-What?”

“Everyone knows that you like Kyoko-chan,” Enma said. “Even Haru-chan knows that you like Kyoko-chan. The only one who doesn’t know about it is probably Kyoko-chan.”

Oh gods, Tsuna wanted to bury himself in a hole. Had he been that obvious? And what did Enma mean by everyone? He couldn’t exactly mean everyone, could he?

Though in the past, Enma could sympathize with Tsuna’s embarrassment, this was too important for that. Instead, he took a step forward and hoped he was mustering what was a firm frown. “But now, you’re acting differently.... do you... do you like Haru-chan too?”

“I-I-I,” Tsuna stammered, unable to meet Enma’s eyes.

“I’m being serious here,” Enma declared, almost feeling irritated by how Tsuna seemed to be avoiding the topic. He truly did care for Tsuna and saw him as a good friend, but he wouldn’t be forgiving if he found out that Tsuna was just toying around with Haru’s feelings.

At the hardness of Enma’s tone of voice, Tsuna deflated a little. The embarrassment faded a little and his shoulders seemed to sag. “I... honestly? I’m not sure either.”

“What?” Enma found it hard to keep the incredulousness out of his voice.

“I-I mean that in the past, I didn’t really think much about it... Haru-chan was just... well, always there.” Tsuna rubbed the back of his neck almost sheepishly. “It kind of felt like she would always be there no matter what I did... but then in the past few days, she... well... you...”

Enma fell silent for a brief moment, digesting Tsuna’s words. If this was any other person than Tsuna, Enma would have felt extremely resentful by how indecisive Tsuna was when it came to Haru’s feelings... but since he knew Tsuna was a good person, he kept his calm. “...so are you... jealous because she’s now with me all the time or... or are you just not used to how she’s no longer always with you?”

“I-I don’t know!” Tsuna yelled, running his hand messily through his hair as though he hoped that by rubbing his head, he could somehow call forth the answers to his questions. “I just don’t like how... how she no longer greets me first out of everyone the moment school ends. Or-Or how she barely even talks to me now since the first person she looks for now is you!”

“Then what are you trying to do?”

“I... I’m sorry, I really don’t know.” Tsuna murmured softly as he looked away, hating himself at how he couldn’t even understand his own emotions. It was unfair to so many people, but his feelings were just so torn apart that he couldn’t decipher any of it.

“Well... to be honest, it doesn’t really matter to me.”

Tsuna’s head snapped upwards in surprise and for the first time since his battle against Enma, he could see the determination and strength in his eyes. It was obvious that Enma wasn’t going to relent so easily when it came to his feelings for Haru. “Enma-kun?”

“You’re my friend, Tsuna-kun... but I won’t lose when it comes to making Haru-chan mine.” A fervent blush threatened to take over his face and reduce the tension behind his words, but Enma managed to force it down... because he was serious when he said this. He wasn’t going to give up Haru-chan, even if it was to Tsuna-kun. She brought him peace of mind... and he really loved it when she smiled so serenely at him.

It was a smile he wanted to make solely for himself only.

“Tsuna-san, look at the puppy Enma-san and I adopted!” Haru squealed, emerging from the shadows of underneath the bridge with a puppy in her arms. The small thing was wagging its tail a mile a minute, barking excitedly at the sight of its other owner. She ran towards the boys, unaware of the thick tension that was slowly dissipating with the arrival of the center of their attention.

“Better hurry and make up your mind soon,” Enma stated softly while turning towards Haru’s direction. “Because I’m already one step ahead of you.”

Tsuna remained rooted on his spot as Haru stopped in front of Enma, holding out the puppy towards him.  Aka-chan showered kisses all over Enma’s face, alternating between licks and rubs. Haru laughed while Enma half-heartedly protested at the shower of affection.

Would he truly be able to just watch as such heart-warming scenes like this happened in front of his eyes over and over again?

Would he really be alright with Haru gazing fondly at another person other than himself?

With Kyoko-chan, he would definitely be sad. He would become depressed, most likely, and mope around for a very long time... but in the end, he would get over it. It would probably take him a while, but the thing was that he would get over it eventually.

...however, Tsuna couldn’t imagine ever getting over how Haru’s brightest smile would no longer be reserved for him and him only...

AN: Hey yo, I am back. Sorry for the disappearance... just been going through some depressing times, some VERY depressing times. Le sigh. But I'm back and updates will be slow as usual, but I'm getting there. Teach Me Love is next on my list now that I'm done with the prizes and the chapter will be long this time, I promise.

1. Notice
