Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Teach Me Love - Chapter 02

Summary: "Show me this so-called greatness of the power of love," Hibari ordered. "Fall in love with me." Haru could only stupidly gawk at him. Just what the heck did she get herself involved in? HaruxMultiple Pairings

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC and I guess I'll explain some stuff at the end of the chapter, just so I won't spoil things! XD

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. lol, i still don't understand the beta system thing and I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Chapter Two

HappyFace1886

Speechless.

That was the one word that perfectly described Miura Haru at the moment. Was this boy crazy? Did he not understand the beautiful complexities of love? A part of her almost believed that he was mocking love, but the seriousness in his face told her otherwise. Besides, something told her that this was a guy who did not joke often and when he did, it was mostly about blood and carnage.

"Y-You can't just demand someone to fall in love with you!" she almost shrieked, unable to contain her incredulity over the situation. Her face was flushed and it was difficult to look him in the eye. "B-Besides, if you want to feel the Power of Love, you should be the one to fall in love, not me!"

"How do I fall in love?" he asked in his usual monotone tenor.

There was a moment of silence before Haru began to try to choke out an answer. Romance novels, think romance novels! They had never let her down before and there was no way they were going to let her down now! "There's no way to just simply fall in love on command! There are so many types of love, like love at first sight, childhood love, and love that slowly grows! Tsu-."

She stopped before she could continue. She had been about to say that she had Tsuna-san had a special kind of love, the romance action sort of love, since he had risked his life twice trying to save her from falling into the lake. Instead, Haru crossed her arms in a huff and looked away.

"You love Sawada?" the question was blunt and straightforward. The flush on Haru's face darkened.

"I-It's not proper to ask girl's things like that!" she yelped, her arms tightening around herself as though that would help to prevent her secret from being exposed to the world. Normally, she had no inhibition when proclaiming her love for Tsuna-san, but after seeing him with Kyoko so many times, she was starting to have doubts as to whether she should continue or not.

"You will help me understand this power of love that you are so proud of or," the tonfas were raised and Haru's instincts began to scream at her to obey this boy's every last whim, "I'll bite you to death."

Haru sighed as she made her way home. How could this have happened to her? All she had to do was give the bento to Tsuna-san, but not only did she witness Tsuna-san blushing and talking so happily with Kyoko-chan, she also encountered that mean porcupine! Her cheeks began to swell as she angrily pouted.

How dare he order Haru around as though she was some sort of animal! There was no need for her to listen to him! But... but...

Dark eyes glowed dangerously as the tonfas were held high in the air, ready to descend the moment she uttered a word or protest.

"Haru is stuck," she mumbled, feeling a chill at the mere mental image. Her eyes were glued to the floor as she dejectedly made her way home. Suddenly, she collided into something solid and fell to the ground on impact. "Hahi! Itaaiii, today just isn't Haru's day."

"Mm? Haru-chan, are you alright?" she looked up at the sound of the familiar voice and smiled when she realized who it was.

"Yamamoto-san!" she said, grabbing the outstretched hand. Haru immediately bowed apologetically. "Hahi! Haru is sorry for bumping into you! Haru was a bit... distracted."

"Nah, it's fine," Yamamoto said good-naturedly. He smiled awkwardly, however, when he saw the gloomy aura that seemed to be attached to Haru despite the cheerful smile she was trying to maintain. "What's wrong? Did something happen?"

"No, no, Haru is fine." she said, prepared to walk around and head on home. There was no need to drag Yamamoto-san into her problems. "Thank you for the concern, though!"

"It helps when you talk to a friend about your problems. Maybe I can help." he said with his infectious smile, which caused Haru to brighten up a bit. "Here, c'mon, my house is nearby. We can talk over there."

"No! Haru doesn't want to impose!" she said, grabbing his arm before he began his way towards his home. "It's... It's just that I have a problem."

"What's wrong?"

"S-Someone asked me for help, but I don't know how to help! The request is too... too... too embarrassing!" she nearly wailed, waving her arms to emphasize the enormity of the problem. "And it's impossible to help, but if I don't help, Haru is going to die!"

"Haha, it's alright Haru-chan. I'm sure if you're unable to help, you won't die from guilt." he said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, clearly missing the literal meaning of her words. "But if this person's your friend, shouldn't you try your best to help? That's what friends are for, after all."

She almost mumbled about how that boy, whose name she still didn't know, wasn't her friend, but was unable to do so since she was still caught up in her hysterics. Instead, she could only nod as she began to focus on breathing, trying to calm her nerves. "Thank you Yamamoto-san. It feels kind of good getting it off my chest."

"No problem." he said cheerfully.

"I... I guess I should help him since he kind of asked for it," she mumbled, even though he had been so rude about it. "But how can I help him? Ah, never mind. I'll think about it once I get home! Thank you, Yamamoto-san, for listening to me!"

"Like I said, it's no problem." he glanced up at the sky and noticed it darkening. "Hey, it's getting dark. Let me walk you home."

"Hahi! It's alright. I don't want to impose anymore than I already have!" she said, hurrying down the street before he could stop her. "My house is really close by so it's alright! Thank you again, Yamamoto-san! I'll repay your kindness next time!"

Yamamoto watched with his arm still outstretched as Haru rushed down the streets. He pulled his arm back and rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling as he began his trek towards his house. He didn't really know much about her, but she never failed to amuse him each time they met.

Hibari yawned as he lied down on top of his favorite spot on the roof of Namimori Junior High. He sat up and ran his hand through his hair. When had he fallen asleep?

...oh yeah, it was after he heard Hibird’s soothing singing of the Namimori school anthem.

“You! Haru found you!” the loud cry of triumph made him twitch and the first impulse was for him was to whip out his tonfas and to bite dead the person who had dared to disturb his and the school’s peace. The impulse was reined in when he saw the person who had yelled at him and was currently pointing an offending finger at him.

“It’s you,” he said listlessly and Haru seemed to take offense to that.

“Is that all you can say to Haru after everything you said yesterday?” she cried indignantly, climbing up the ladder of the building covering the stairway. He tsked at how clumsy she was when she nearly tripped over the ledge. “You have a lot of nerve trying to tell me what to do yesterday when I bet you don’t even know my name!”

“You are one of Sawada’s herbivore followers,” he answered.

“Hahi! Wrong!” goodness, how could he not even know her name when she actually referred to herself in third person most of the time?! “It’s Miura Haru, M-I-U-R-A  H-A-R-U! Now tell me your name.”

“I see no point in telling someone such as yourself my name,” Hibari concluded, sitting up lazily. He yawned, still feeling a bit tired from after disciplining a few scoundrels.

Che, they never learn.

“Hahi,” Haru cried. “This is the problem! You’ll never learn the power of love at this rate!”

“...Power of Love...” memories of yesterday came to mind. He had actually forgotten about it when he was confronted by a couple of deadbeats who had been about to spray paint the walls of his precious school. The memory of the beat down almost caused him to smirk. “So you agree to help me in this matter.”

“You gave Haru no choice,” she grumbled with a pout. “But yes, I will help you. But there are conditions you must follow! And no, I won’t let you bully me into doing anything else! If you want to understand the power of love, you have to follow these conditions!”

“Are you affirmative in that these conditions will allow us to reach the desired conclusion?” he inquired, raising an inquisitive eyebrow.

“W-Well,” Haru said nervously. Actually, she hadn’t thought about that. “I-It depends on u-us, I... I think?”

He seemed skeptical about her answer, but decided to accept it... for now...

“So tell me, what are these conditions, herbivore?” he asked.

“Hahi!” she cried again, almost ready to tear out her hair in frustration. “Haru’s name is Haru! The first condition if this thing is going to work is that you have to call me by my name! P-People in l-l-l-l-love c-c-call each o-other by... by... their first names... b-b-b-but and you can just call me H-Haru-chan, okay?”

“Unsatisfactory,” he replied curtly. “If we wish to attain the optimal response, we must meet choose the most favorable route. This means that I should identify you by your given name only as you will do the same with me.”

“B-But!” that makes us sound too close! Haru wanted to scream in protest. It would imply that they were actually very close! So far, Haru couldn’t think of anyone that called her just Haru and she couldn’t even dream of just calling someone by their first name! Her face flushed at the mere thought of it.

“Understood?” he asked, though it sounded more like a threat through his tone of voice.

“H-Hai,” she conceded pitifully. “B-But I’m not saying it until you say it!”

Ha, take that you round-headed jerk!

“Haru,” he said smoothly and the flush on her face deepened at the sound of him calling her by her name. “And I believe you must call me Kyoya.”

Haru bit her lip. There was no way she was just going to let this jerk win like this! “K-K-Kyo... K-Kyo...”

“My name is not Kyo,” he said flatly, unimpressed by how she was agonizing over a simple name.

“Haru knows that!” she snapped angrily, frustrated over how insensitive this jerk was being. Was he really this socially inept?

“Then call me by my name,” Hibari ordered.

“...Kyoya...” Haru mumbled, unable to look him in the eye. Instead, she fixed her attention on the monotonic patterns of the ground, counting each surface tile that made up the roof.

“I can’t hear you,” this time there was a tinge of amusement in his words, causing her to twitch in anger.

“Kyoya!” she yelled.

“Good, what is the next condition,” he said nonchalantly. What an interesting little herbivore, constantly fluctuating from timidity to ferocious anger.

Haru bit her lip to hold back her sharp retort. Ooh, this guy just knew how to make her so angry! He was nothing like her sweet Tsuna-san who always knew how to make her laugh and feel better. When she saw him staring down at her, waiting for her next condition, she shook her head mentally.

No, she had to get over Tsuna-san! He obviously loved Kyoko-chan and she wanted him to be happy! She had to focus on this stupid ‘agreement’ this round-headed jerk was making her do!

“You have to promise to do everything I plan, alright?” she demanded, feeling a bit more confident as she began to speak her demands. Haru saw the skepticism in his eyes and knew she had to quickly explain before he brought out the deadly tonfas. “R-Relationships only work when couples do certain things! Like go on dates to the amusement park or other romantic things!”

“How is this relevant to the agreement?”

Haru puffed her cheeks in frustration. “The Power of Love comes from people who’re in love with each other! You’re not in love with me and I’m not in love with you! This mean we have to make love happen somehow-“Because you’re going to kill me or worse, bite me dead, if I don’t help you understand love! “-and this means by doing what normal couples do! This means, K-K-Kyoya, w-we’re going on a... a date tomorrow!”

Marriage  01

HappyFace1886

“W-Wait Hiro-chan!” small black strands of hair escaped from the pins holding up the messy bun, falling over the frantic features of a woman in her early thirties. She held a slumbering child in one arm while her other arm was outstretched in vain attempt to catch the giggling child.

“Catch me Kaachan!” the boy crowed joyfully, glad that his mother’s attention was finally on him. He remained close enough so that he was still in arms length of his mother, but each time she tried to catch him, he easily danced away from her fingertips.

Despite the exasperation in her eyes, brown eyes gleamed in amusement as she chased after her oldest child. Though five years old, he already had the grace of his father. And thank goodness for that. If little Hiro had ended up with her genes, he would be stumbling about, crashing into everything.

She held the two year old child in her arms carefully and continued to follow Hiro. “Please Hiro-chan. Come back to Kaachan so we can go home. It’s getting late and you know how Tousan said he would be coming home early.”

At the mention of his illustrious father, Hiro immediately stopped, but did not reach out for her outstretched hand. He pouted and began to shuffle his foot in obvious reluctance. Haru bit the inside of her cheeks in order to hide her mirth. Hiro-chan resembled his father so much that seeing him doing such adorable acts was so odd yet endearing at the same time.

“But Kaachan...” he grumbled, his dark navy blue eyes glowing with unhappiness.

Right then, the child in her arms began to wail. Loudly. Hiro wince at the sound while his mother began to immediately coo at the child, trying to soothe his fears. Her second child, Kuronue had a mighty set of lungs. This, she knew, definitely came from her genes as it was rare for her husband to raise his voice. His normal monotone voice was enough to strike fear into everyone’s souls.

“There, there,” she rubbed her hand on the baby’s back, hugging him close to her. “You’re safe. Kaachan’s here with you.”

“Kaachan,” Hiro whined. “It’s my turn right now!”

She chuckled and began to walk over to him. “We went over this already Hiro-chan. Kuronue-chan needs us right now because he’s just a baby. And since you’re his brother, it’s your job to make sure that he grows up to be big and strong just like you.”

“B-But,” the little boy sputtered with his dark blue eyes flashing in protest. “It’s not fair. Kaachan’s always with him and Tousan is never home. Why should I take care of him when everyone only pays attention to him?”

She kneeled before him and gingerly placed the baby between them. “Because he is your younger brother, Hiro-chan. He is a part of you, just as he is a part of me, because you and he both share the same blood. And right now is when he is at one of his most vulnerable times. It’s up us to protect him so that he can smile with Kaachan and Tousan and Hiro-chan everyday, just as how Kaachan and Tousan protected Hiro-chan so he can smile with us every day.”

Hiro’s eyebrows furrowed together and he stared at Kuronue with a slight look of disdain. He didn’t want to share his Kaasan and Tousan with anyone else. But... Hiro’s eyes shifted and met his mother’s glowing brown ones... for his Kaachan, he would try.

After all, if Kuronue-chan was a part of them both, that must mean he was important to them all... just as Hiro-chan was important to his Kaachan and Tousan.

A gentle kiss skimmed on her nape and she couldn’t stop the shiver that went up her body. A strong, warm arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her back, pressing her against a solid chest. “Haru.” A hot voice brushed her sensitive skin.

A strong blush graced her face and she slowly tilted her face back, only to find her lips enveloped by another. Her eyes widened in surprise followed by a small gasp. The small sounds and movements she gave was enough to act as permission for him as he grasped the side her face, deepening the kiss.

Haru shivered, mewling at the feel of his tongue slipping into her mouth. It caressed her own tongue, stroking it lovingly while his hand trailed up her jaw-line to the pins holding her hair up in a messy bun. She arched into his chest with a muffled whimper as his tongue speared into her mouth deeper, moving just in time as he smoothly flicked the pins off.

“K-Kyoya,” she panted softly, pushing against him gently so that he would move away just enough for her to breathe. He pressed his forehead against hers and took in her scent, running his fingers through the soft locks of hair. “Welcome home.”

It never ceased to amaze her how the strongest and the scariest of the infamous Vongola Guardians, in all the years they had been married, always remembered to give her a breathtaking kiss the moment he came home.

“Where are the kids?” he spoke quietly, almost as though he was already aware of how Kuronue was asleep in his crib and how Hiro had fallen asleep along with him while watching over him. He moved gently, as if trying to savor this rare occasion of silence.

“Asleep.” Haru murmured back, wrapping her arms around him while he moved his head towards her neck. She closed her eyes and relished at his mere presence. It was something she had grown so accustomed to that without the warmth of his body every night, it was difficult for her to fall asleep. “Is everything alright?”

He nuzzled into her neck in response and she couldn’t stop the smile growing on her face.

It was so nice to have him back home so early. For once, they would all be able to have dinner together. They would actually be able to have family-time for a few hours and... and... tonight, she wouldn’t have to wait in worry that instead of her husband returning home, it would be one of her friends all bloodied with a grim look on their face.

She trusted him.

He was, after all, the strongest out of them all.

But still...

She couldn’t afford to lose him.

Not now.

Not ever.

Especially not now since-.

“When were you going to tell me?”

Her eyes widened as she looked straight into his. “What?”

Hibari’s eyes remained cool and nonchalant, but being his wife for years made it easy for her to decipher the unseen emotions flitting through them. She knew that he knew the truth. How, she didn’t know, but the surprise in her quickly faded away. This was Hibari Kyoya, they were talking about. There was nothing he didn’t know of.

With a wry smile on her face, she caressed the side of his face and smiled when he seemed to lean into her touch. “I found out a few weeks ago.”

“How long?”

Haru almost giggled when he kissed her palm. If only the other Guardians could see him acting this way. Hibari Kyoya was seen as the cold, deadly type, but he craved for touch. Her touch. Any others, he could do without, but towards the one woman he loved, he wanted to cover each part of her soft skin with his touch, to leave reminders of how she was hers, of how they were bonded together to the point one couldn’t live without the other.

“A few weeks.”

She felt him smile against her hand. Of course, one of those rare times he smiled he just had to do it beneath her hand. Though internally pouting –even she rarely saw his true smiles– Haru merely returned his smile.

“Another child.”

The smile on her face grew. “Yes.”

Another reminder of the love they had for each other.

“Tousan?” there was a sleep mumble from behind them. The two adults drew apart and turned to see Hiro rubbing his eyes, his hair tousled while one hand clutched onto the blanket Haru had placed over him.

Another child who was a part of both of them.

Haru chuckled. “Tousan is home.”

The sleep in Hiro’s eyes quickly began to fade, replaced by uninhibited excitement and joy.

“Tousan!”

As Haru watched Hiro run towards him, the child who held a piece of both her and Hibari, she gently placed her hands on her stomach.

Another child...

To have another child.

That she wouldn’t mind, especially if the father of the child was Hibari.

Hiro clung onto his father, talking a mile a minute about the most random things that happened today. Hibari patiently listened to his son all the while putting up to how Hiro refused to become detached from him.

Haru smiled serenely at this scene.

Yes, she definitely wouldn’t mind.

AN: Re-posting because apparently my posts are being deleted by something! D: Thank you, my dear reviewer, for letting me know!

I think this was what the original AN posted... : This is a different take on the romantic side of Hibari. It was something that came to me while I was dissecting the relationship between these two people in another book. I realized that there was a possibility of Hibari actually being like this. The vague, dependable, sensual and protective type. After all, Hibari already has a protective streak since he cares for both Namimori and Hibird. Who’s to say that these aren’t great qualities one would want in a husband and father? ...just ignore the bloodthirsty side. XD Well, I give no chance for the bloodthirsty part to shine since this was more of a family-esque setting, so, HA, you can’t pin me down with that!

Chapter Fifteen

HappyFace1886

“Are you sure you’ll be alright here?” Bianchi inquired, leaning against the door while watching Haru shuffle about her room. After the incident with Mukuro, Bianchi had decided that it might actually be safer for Haru to stay out of the Vongola headquarters. The dangers brought by the inhabitants of that damn place far outweighed what protection the place could provide for her. Still, to actually leave her all alone here...

Haru smiled tentatively at her. “Haru will be fine. I have Dante-san and he’s apparently working for the Vongola as well. I’m sure that means he has other men roaming around here.”

“Right,” Bianchi relented before eyeing Haru carefully. “But, no more late night adventures.”

There was a flush that spread all over her face before Haru nodded quickly. “Yes, definitely no more late night adventures! Haru promises!”

A smile teased Bianchi’s lips and she couldn’t help but reach out to ruffle the younger girl’s hair. The browned eyed girl stared at her in confusion and Bianchi chuckled in response. “If you ever need anything, feel free to give me a call.”

“Yes ma’am,” Haru said while lifting her cellphone up for reaffirmation. She then lowered it, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly. “Also... after everything that has happened, I sort of forgot that the reason why I’m here in the first place is because of school. I’ll probably be too busy to dig any deeper into knowing more about the Vongola now.”

“Hm... school...” Bianchi mused to herself.

“The pervert isn’t going to make an appearance there, is he? I-I mean, being a mafia leader and stuff, he wouldn’t make an appearance of a private school of all places, right?” Haru stammered out nervously because -who was she kidding?- of course he’d do such a thing if given the right motivation.

“No,” Bianchi shook her head, amused at the flustered look on Haru’s face. “It’s unlikely that he’ll enter the school like that. Not to mention, as you’ve said so yourself, being the future leader of the Vongola, his face is too known. It doesn’t stop him from roaming the streets, but the police often make a show of attempting to catch him, if only to write in their reports that they’re doing something about their mafia problem.”

Haru almost groaned at this information. Well that certainly explained how they met in the first place. Her mind then quickly caught onto the fact that that meant there really should have been no reason for the stupid pervert to have used her like that! It was all a sham! Not to mention, with all their fancy powers and abilities, he could have gotten away easily!

Wait until the next time she saw him!

“Besides,” Bianchi continued, though the words seemed to be more for herself than for Haru. “I’m sure he’s busy with other priorities right now.”

Haru was about to say something, but closed her mouth instead. She could still hear Mukuro’s words in her mind. How could she not, when it seemed as though he had intentionally said those words for her to hear. Haru was no idiot. If Bianchi-san didn’t trust him, then that meant she should be wary of what was being said by him.

“So when does school start?”

Brought out of her thoughts, Haru gave her a weak smile. “It should be the day after tomorrow. I remembered after seeing the calendar. Haru was afraid that she’d be too busy having fun to remember and so, marked it on the day she arrived to Italy.”

“And?”

Haru looked at her in confusion. “And?”

“How has it been so far?”

The question brought about a pause as Haru wasn’t sure if Bianchi was joking or not. However, there was a careful glint in those pretty pale eyes that made Haru shift her gaze to the side, one hand clutching tightly onto her arm. “It... It wasn’t exactly what Haru was thinking of.”

“It wasn’t?” there was a faint teasing lilt in Bianchi’s words. “Are you sure? From what I’ve heard, there are many girls who dream about going to a foreign country and being swept away into the arms of a dangerous, yet cunning boy like the idiot.”

Her failed attempt at praising the pervert made Haru giggle. “No, really, I chose to come to this country because my Otousan recommended it to me. He studied here before and told me that I’d learn a lot during my stay here... of course... he never mentioned the part about knowing anything about the mafia.”

“Your father...” there it was again, that pensive look on Bianchi’s eyes. Though she hated to admit it, Haru recognized the look. It was the same type she had seen on most of those involved with the Vongola, be it Dante-san to even the likes of the pervert. They were the eyes of someone who knew, someone who was more aware of the situation that she would ever be.

Calculative. Cold. Always so alert.

Her mouth clamped shut, silencing any and all questions that were desperate to make their way out of her throat. A part of her wanted to ask so much, but after what she’d been through, Haru had learned the consequences of her overt curiosity the hard way. Granted, in the past, it had gotten her in trouble as well, but never to this extent. This time, if she wasn’t careful, she’d be lucky if the only thing that happened to her was that she’d gotten killed in between all the gunfire.

Still... was the silence worth it?

In her mind, she saw the flicker of those two-toned eyes. They were so monotonous and distant, holding a sharp razor edge that kept everyone at arm’s length. Those eyes were so different from the playful, teasing ones she had gotten accustomed to. She didn’t think she could ever forget the tightly reined in rage that blazed behind those powerful orbs as he held her in his arms, staring down at the man with the glowing pistols.

This was the life they led. The violence and the cruelty... the betrayal and the hatred... it seemed like a never-ending cycle that only led to more pain.

...was this truly something she wanted to involve herself in?

Tsuna sat at the head of the meeting room, his Guardians seated down sides of the long narrow wooden table. He leaned back against the seat, sitting so casually as though he wasn’t surrounded some of the most lethal individuals in the world. Not that it mattered to him. As the heir, as he’d learned after carefully watching Xanxus and learning things the hard way, he needed to demand attention, he needed to show that he wasn’t afraid or worried about anything anyone would throw his way.

It didn’t matter if it was before even his most trusted Guardians.

He stared at all of them, completely at ease.

Everything about this was now second nature to him.

“So what have you all gathered so far?” he smoothly inquired. “Any suggestions on how we shall go about dealing with the Shimon Famiglia?”

“Based on the past and present intel gathered so far, it doesn’t seem like they’re the most well-connected people in this world,” Gokudera started while flipping through some of the papers within the black folder he brought with him. “Actually, it almost feels as though they’re bordering civilians with their ancestors maybe having some ties to the mafia. Somewhere along the way, the Shimon Famiglia fell off the radar and became... well... normal.”

“But that wouldn’t explain why they’re suddenly so strong,” Yamamoto murmured softly. All of them had heard of the reports regarding the Shimon Famiglia’s transgression. It almost seemed random, how they had suddenly attacked one of the Vongola’s bases. There had been no warning and the intention was also unclear. If anything, it was as though the only motivation for the attack was for the sake of a slaughter. “There weren’t any survivors from their first assault and the facility actually had some capable fighters in there.”

Ryohei spoke with his eyes downcast, obviously still conflicted by what exactly they were going to do about the situation. Tsuna noted it mentally, watching the older boy with careful eyes. “They’re motivated by revenge. It should be no surprise how exactly they go about exacting it.”

“Revenge or not, it should be impossible for someone to grow so powerful out of the blue,” Hibari added in monotonously, obviously uninterested in this little meeting of theirs. The best method was to go and hunt them down, right now and in person. Talking won’t get them too far. “I’m sure they’ll give us all the answers to your silly questions once we’ve bitten them dead.”

“The Cloud Guardian is right,” Mukuro chimed in, his smile growing when he saw the look of irritation flash through Hibari’s eyes at the sound of his voice. “What’s the point of having this little meeting when we’re all simply going to crush them? After all, that’s the sort of thing the mafia does best.”

Ryohei flinched and gave him a fierce scowl. “We’re not going to just beat them to death! We’re trying to stop them from slaughtering our people!”

“Ryohei,” Yamamoto lifted a placating arm, but was promptly ignored as the hot-headed Sun Guardian tried to reach out and grab Mukuro by the collar. The only reason why he failed was because Lambo was in between them, crying out in surprise after being rudely woken up from his little nap on his chair.

“Hey! How dare you interrupt the great Lambo-sama’s nap?” he demanded and slapped Ryohei on the shoulder, shoving him away.

“I wasn’t trying to-!”

“Enough,” Tsuna silenced the cacophony of noise with a quiet whisper. All eyes turned in attention towards him. “We are here to discuss potential plans on how to deal with the Shimon Famiglia... though I’m not surprise you all find this pretty pointless. I’m sure the moment the opportunity arises, most of you will go about doing whatever you want.”

Gokudera looked as though he wanted to protest this conclusion, about how all of them were utterly loyal to the great Decimo, only to shut his mouth at the realization just who it was that they were surrounded with. Hibari, Mukuro, and even Ryohei would probably just charge off and do their own thing the moment the opportunity arises. Hell, knowing Lambo and his luck, either he’ll run away and succeed or he’ll run away and cause a bigger mess. He held back the urge to groan and dig his palm into his face.

“Then why bother with this stupidity?” Hibari inquired coolly.

“Just a little reminder.” Tsuna’s eyes became hooded as he stared at them with a gaze that was bordering lazy. “What is our top priority?”

“The survival of the Vongola?” Mukuro hazard a gaze, looking amused by this development.

“No,” Tsuna said, “the utter obliteration of the Shimon Famiglia.”

Seated on either side of him, Gokudera and Yamamoto straightened their backs. After having spent so much time around Tsuna and being his left and right hands, they knew what it meant when he had that tone of voice. It was a bit rare these days, but it was akin to when Tsuna started... changing... when he’d started to turn into the young man he was right now. Yamamoto unconsciously tightened his grip on the hilt of his katana. His eyes, on the other hand, remained still and unchanging. Gokudera, on other hand, didn’t bother hiding the somewhat troubled look on his face.

“The Vongola will survive regardless of whether I’m alive or not,” Tsuna continued rather blandly, waving his hand in emphasis of just how miniscule he was compared to the workings of the real world. “The Shimon Famiglia, however, cannot be allowed to continue their attacks like this.”

The silence seemed to grow louder with each word he spoke.

“I don’t care what you do. I don’t care how you do it.” a spark of flame almost erupted in the middle of his head, his words pouring out with the apathy that could only belong to the mafia heir. “Crush them.”

Haru shivered at the feel of the cool breeze that brushed against her cheek. Her hands tightened around her blanket and she wrapped it tighter around her. Funny, she’d remember closing her windows before going to sleep. Mumbling something unintelligible, she snuggled into her pillow and fell back asleep.

A hand softly brushed the knuckles against her cheek, marveling at their softness. She did not stir this time and the hand, almost reverently, trailed upward against her hair to entangle the fingers in those brown locks briefly before pulling away.

There was a sharp poke on her cheek and her eyes flung open.

“Hahi!” she yelled, throwing the covers towards whoever had the nerve to poke her like that. After having been pestered endlessly by the pervert, her sense of danger had apparently been distorted. Instead of fear of having a possible stranger in her room, she was filled with rage at having been disturbed. “Who-?! ... oh... it’s you.”

Tsuna smiled charmingly at her, but it only seemed to raise her hackles even further. If anything, in her eyes, it was a condescending sneer on his face. Grumbling under her breath, Haru grabbed her fallen pillow and wrapped it around her.

“What do you want?” she turned her face away from him and decided it would be better to actually turn her back towards him, clutching tightly onto the edges of her blanket as she stared at the wall. “Here to have some more fun with your little ‘Japanese whore’?”

She stiffened when she felt arms wrap around her from behind and shot her elbow out in reflex. To her surprise, he didn’t stop her and her elbow collided hard against his stomach. She felt the wind being knocked out of him, but the jerk didn’t move his arms around her. Instead, after the initial rush of pain faded, he relaxed and buried his face into her nape.

The two sat in silence with Haru wondering what the heck he was doing and Tsuna quietly drinking in her presence.

She felt so soft and warm within his arms and he couldn’t help but tighten his grip, pulling her closer to him. Just being near her was comforting and the tension on his shoulders weakened. He felt a shiver run through her when he brushed his lips against her skin and couldn’t stop his small smile.

There was a whisper... and it was faint... in fact, she’d felt the hesitant, but sincere words brushing against her skin more so than she’d heard it.

But it was enough.

Briefly, Reborn-chan’s words resurfaced into her mind, just as it had when she was contemplating on leaving the Vongola manor or making her way towards the library.

Hes the same age as you, Haru. Take a moment to consider that fact.

Her hand tentatively reached out to touch the hands of the arms clutching firmly around her midsection. She felt him still behind her before he relaxed once again, more of his weight falling onto her shoulders at her acceptance of his apology.

Dangerous.

She was becoming way too dangerous and too quickly.

Originally he hadn’t questioned it, hadn’t even dreamed of wondering what exactly it was that drew him towards her like a mesmerized moth to a hazardous flame. Just a simple, cute girl with a penchant of getting into trouble. Her responses to his touch had been exhilarating and fun, both physically and verbally. There was no dishonesty when it came to her. She was open to the point of it being a fault. It was simply because she was a novelty that drew him to her. Not to mention, she reminded him of home... of the childhood he’d left behind.

But this... this was different.

Tsuna paused when he felt her lean back against him instead of squirming away as usual. It made his eyes slightly widen at her sudden trust, her willingness to actually leave herself vulnerable to him. Of course, when compared to him, she was as defenseless as a newborn child... however, now she was freely leaning against him and especially after he’d laid such a cold insult on her back at the manor.

“Don’t you dare do anything other than this,” she snapped warningly.

The smile she did not witness was a lot brighter, almost akin to a much simpler time when most of his worries consisted of school bullies and getting a certain sister of his Guardian to notice him.... Tsuna nuzzled into her cheek and murmured slyly. “But I’m sure you’d enjoy it as much as I will.”

There was another sharp jab of her elbow and Tsuna grunted while she struggled to get away from his octopus grip. “Let go of me you pervert!”

There was a chuckle before Tsuna tilted her face, pressing his lips lightly against hers. She stopped flailing her limbs out of shock before she realized what he was doing. Without mercy, she used two elbows this time and it was enough to at least break the kiss. With flushed cheeks, she glowered angrily at him.

“Get out!”

“Aw, but Haru-.”

“GET OUT!”
