Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Dating - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - Teach Me Love Oneshot 03

Summary: Series of oneshot that show what should have been shown during the little moments, the dates, and the lessons between Hibari and Haru in the fanfic, Teach Me Love.

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC and I guess I'll explain some stuff at the end of the chapter, just so I won't spoil things! XD

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. lol, i still don't understand the beta system thing and I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Dating

HappyFace1886

Haru looked at closed door in front of her in set determination. Fear and doubt continued to haunt her, but she refused to let it control her. She had, after all, promised Kyoya that she would teach him about the joys of love! Er... powers, she meant the all-mighty power of love!

And so now, here she was, standing in front of Hibari’s office, in order to ask him out on a d.... d.... d.... date!

Haru blushed and she stumbled backwards, before facing the wall behind her in embarrassment. Oh gods, this was an impossible task. The last date had ended horribly and since then, they hadn’t gone on one since! How was she supposed to approach him on this topic anyways? He always made things so frustrated for her.

The scarf and picnic incident came to mind and Haru felt her gloom growing. Angrily she shook her head. This was not the time to be agonizing over the past. This was a new, fresh start and this time, they were going to succeed!

She stared at the door forlornly.

...but did she really have to be the one asking?

Sure, Kyoya had the social skills of a rock –hence the reason why he was taking lessons from her about love!- but really... did she really have to be the one to ask? Couldn’t he, for once, be the one by inquiring about why they weren’t going on a date again? He was smart, after all, so he must’ve noticed how despite how they started this whole lesson thing off with a date, they hadn’t gone to one since then!

Haru glowered at the door, cursing Kyoya for landing her in such an awkward situation, but squeaked when she heard the sound of voices down the hallway. Oh gods, that voice sounded like Tsuna-san! She couldn’t face him right now! Not like this! Especially not in front of Kyoya’s office!

With a frustrated and confused battle-cry, Haru roughly jerked the door open before slamming it behind her. She pressed her back against it and waited with abated breath, listening with her heart thudding in her throat as she heard Gokudera yelling at Yamamoto while Tsuna tried to stop the brewing one-sided fight.

When she heard their voices fading away, Haru exhaled heavily and slid down onto the floor in exhaustion.

Hearing their voices brought such sad nostalgia. She missed hanging out and laughing with them. Heck, she even missed arguing with Gokudera and hearing him calling her such rude names. But she couldn’t face them... not when she still wasn’t settled with just how much Tsuna loved Kyoko.

Until she was sure she could face them all without revealing to them her true feelings, she would have to wait.

“Did I not already inform you about how you are breaking school regulations with your mere presence being here?” a chilling voice inquired from above.

Haru looked up and screamed at the sight of Hibari looking down at her with tonfas at hand, a frightening purple aura surrounding him while he glared at her in obvious displeasure. Knowing Tsuna and the others were nearby, she slammed her hands over her mouth to muffle her scream and waited until her heart wasn’t about to jump out of her chest before starting to yell at him.

“Don’t scare Haru like that!”

“Did you hear what I said?” Hibari asked in the same foreboding tone. “What are you doing here?”

“Haru is here to see you,” she said through gritted teeth. “A boyfriend is supposed to be happy when their girlfriend took the trouble of trying to see their boyfriend, not threatening them with weaponry!”

“Do you understand just how many rules you are breaking right now? Why would that bring happiness to anyone?” Hibari countered with frank irritation, though –to Haru’s relief- he placed the tonfas away. “Hurry with whatever you’re planning and leave.”

Haru blinked. “You’re not going to hit Haru?”

Hibari sighed. “Whether I hit you or not, you’ll continue to do whatever you wish.” He couldn’t even begin counting how many times he had threatened her and she had still popped up in Namimori Junior High without his consent. “So hurry and leave.”

“How rude,” Haru said in a huff, but giggled when she saw Hibari twitch. She was then about to tell Hibari her plan for their next lesson, but froze when she realized what she was going to have to do... again! Oh why, why, why, why! Why did she have to go through this torment again? Wasn’t it enough that she done this already at least once?

“Out with it,” Hibari said with an impatient growl.

“Do... do... do... do...” Haru chanted, a heavy blush staining her cheeks while she looked off into a far away corner.

Hibari watched her fumble and scowled. Walking over to her, he grabbed her by the head, causing her to squeak. Leaning closer, he said slowly so that her small brain could comprehend his words. “What. Do. You. Want?”

“Do you want to go out on a date?” Haru blurted out. Oh gods, he was too close to her. His presence was suffocating her. He needed to get away from her!

He paused and for a moment, Haru thought she was finally going to get a normal reaction from him. Was he stunned that she asked him out? Would he... would he blush like a normal boy who was caught off guard after being asked out by a pretty girl like Haru?

“No.”

Haru almost fell backwards when he released her, having lost her balance due to his blunt and cold reply. Regaining her footing, she looked at him incensed. “What? Why not?”

“Because going out on a date is pointless and a waste of time.” Hibari said, making his way towards his desk. Silly girl, bothering him with such trivial things. He had paper work to take care of and later on, he had to make patrols around the town.

“How dare you say that?” Haru stormed in front of him, slamming her hand on top of his desk. In a way, she was starting to get a sense of déjà-vu by this conversation. This was so much like when she had first gotten entangled with Hibari, when he had spurned the power of love. Was she even getting through to him? Was what they all did pointless? “It’s so couples can enjoy each other’s company! They’re going out with each other because they love each other and want to be with each other!”

“Dates are pointless. And I can’t fathom how just by spending time with people, strength can be found.” Hibari noted. “That is not training. It’s just time wasted by people doing frivolous activities.”

“That’s not true. By spending time with another, you grow to know more about them. Maybe you come to even love them. And by falling in love with them, just by getting to know them better, you grow to care for them and because you want to protect them, you grow stronger.” Haru argued.

“If that is so, I have yet to see it.”

“I will show it to you!” Haru said with thorough conviction. No one can survive without knowing about the wonders and powers of love. “I promise you, I’ll prove to you the power of love!”

Hibari stared at Haru with his trademark stoicism before he returned his attention towards the pile of paper on his desk. “You may try to do so, but I still consider dates to be pointless.”

“What? Why?” Haru demanded. Gah, was there no way of getting through to this thick rounded-headed jerk?

He stopped what he was doing once again and looked her square in the eye, obviously displeased. “Because we are already always spending time with each other, but they are not deemed dates. Why must we go on even more outings that you believe are deserving of being titled ‘dates’ when we’re already being tormented by each other’s company?”

“Hahi! What do you mean tormented?”

Oh goodness, has she really taught him nothing?

He should have stopped talking before he got to the insulting part!

Teach Me Love - Chapter 10

Summary: "Show me this so-called greatness of the power of love," Hibari ordered. "Fall in love with me." Haru could only stupidly gawk at him. Just what the heck did she get herself involved in? HaruxMultiple Pairings

Chapter Ten: Weakness

HappyFace1886

Idiot...

She was such an idiot!

How had things become so complicated so fast? She and Kyoya.... Hibari... were getting along so well and this had to happen! And why was he suddenly so cold to her? Sure, she had gotten kidnapped, sure, she had caused him trouble with the local thugs since they thought her to be his weakness, and sure, she had gotten Namimori Junior High to get blown up, but....

....but....

Haru clutched onto her pillow tighter, feeling the hot tears falling from her face. “No wonder he hates me... Haru would hate Haru too if she caused so much trouble...”

There was a soft knock on the door and she buried her face into her pillow.

“Go away!”

“Haru-chan...” a voice whispered from behind the door.

She paused. “Y-Yamamoto-kun?”

“Yes, it’s me. Can I come in, please?”

Haru shook her head roughly, never raising her head from her soaked pillow. “No, please go away.”

“...Haru-chan... it’s been three days. You can’t hide in there forever...”

“I can try!” Haru yelled, her voice muffled due to the pillow. Why couldn’t Yamamoto understand that she didn’t want to get out, to face the truth, to be confronted by something she herself couldn’t understand? She didn’t even understand why she was hurting this much. It shouldn’t be hurting this much. She hadn’t even spent that much time with Kyoya.... no... Hibari...

The fact that she made the same mistake again made Haru cry harder.

“Haru-chan-.”

“Please Yamamoto-kun!” Haru yelled. She couldn’t handle this right now. She didn’t even know how to handle this.

Silence filled the room and Haru’s tensed form began to relax slightly when suddenly, the door slammed open. Haru yelped when Yamamoto entered the room. She felt mortified by the fact that he had entered into her room when everything was in such disarray, when she was red-faced and covered in tears.

And yet, Yamamoto strolled closer to her as though nothing was wrong, crouching down in front of her with the same casual smile on his face.

“C’mon Haru-chan, now isn’t the time to be crying here in the dark.” He said, holding out a hand towards her. “Fresh air will do you some good. Let’s go out for a walk in the park.”

“But-.” She began, but felt her voice automatically stop when Yamamoto continued to smile at her despite how she was about to protest again. This was so unfair to him, so unfair to all the people who had gotten involved. Haru bit her lip and then nodded. “I’ll get ready...”

“R-Run!” a hoarse voice yelled, but his voice was unheard due to the cries of pain that filled the area. Many were already on the floor, bleeding and practically in pieces. But alas, the torment was not finished.

His hunger was not abated.

“Weak,” the few that were still conscious flinched at the angry snarl. Dark eyes seemed to glow with anger and with a single step forward, many crawled backwards. “You herbivores are all so damn pathetic.”

“Wh-What the hell is going on all of a sudden?” one of the thugs hissed to the one closest to them. They hadn’t really been doing much, just strolling down the streets, when this punk had appeared out of nowhere, spouting random crap about how they were just inappropriately.

“T-That’s Namimori Junior High’s P-Prefect,” another stammered, nursing a bleeding lip. “H-He normally doesn’t patrol around here! What the hell is he doing so far away from his territory-gah!”

A foot smooth slammed into his stomach and the other thugs on the floor cried out at the sight of their friend writhing in pain on the floor. A predator was before them and it was hungry for their flesh.

“W-We’ll change our clothes! Hell we’ll even do plastic surgery to change our face! Just please leave us alone!” one of them pleaded only to be hit square on the face by the blood-stained tonfa.

Weak.

They were all so damn weak.

He needed a stronger prey, someone who could satisfy his appetite, someone who could satiate this craving inside of him. Ever since that damn incident at the construction site, a hunger had grown inside of him. It was a need he didn’t understand and he didn’t care to understand it.

As long as he found what it was he needed.

That was all that mattered.

Hibari looked up at the sky with an angry scowl. Because of this desire, this need that had sprung up, he had even traveled farther from his usual rounds in hopes of being able to find what it was he desired.

But still no...

Hibari clenched the tonfa tightly.

He still hungered.

“A gruesome fight.”

Hibari jumped back and away from the voice, holding his tonfas defensively only to stop when he saw who it was. His scowl changed into a smirk, finally someone worthy. “Infant.”

“Your thirst for blood only seemed to have grown,” Reborn commented, counting the bodies that littered the ground. There had to be at least a dozen or more unconscious men on the ground.

“Fight me,” Hibari said, readying himself. Perhaps he would finally receive who he desired. Perhaps by fighting this powerful child, he would be released by whatever was haunting him so.

“Dame-Tsuna told me what happened.” Reborn commented, standing casually on the metal fence of the street. “Hideo has been arrested and shouldn’t be causing trouble anymore. But even though he’s gone, trouble seems to have stayed.”

“I said fight me,” the normal tolerance Hibari had for Reborn in respect to Reborn’s unknown abilities was gone. Right now, all Hibari wanted was a challenge, a fight that would invigorate and perhaps soothe the volatile feelings within him.

Reborn lifted his fedora hat slightly and, despite his babyish face, gave Hibari a grim stare. “Running away from the truth doesn’t suit someone who considers himself to be the predator.”

Hibari froze, his eyes widening slightly.

“A true carnivore is one that turns the situation into something that they can use, to make it to their advantage.” Reborn continued smoothly. “A weakness is only a weakness if someone considers it to be a weakness.”

“There is nothing to run away from.” Hibari rose from his stance, knowing no matter what he said or did, Reborn wouldn’t fight him. “And I don’t know what weakness you’re speaking of.”

“There was a time when you were infected with the sakura-kura virus... but despite being infected, you didn’t worry or even try to get the cure. And that was because you knew it wasn’t a weakness. It might hinder you, but it wouldn’t be enough to stop you. So tell me Hibari-kun,” Reborn said with a sly grin, “what makes you think she is a weakness as well?”

AN: I'm on a roll baby! Four updates!!! 8D Also, my dear readers, you should really check out the Teach Me Love oneshots. They will play a role in the story. For those who are still confused about those, the oneshots are basically what should have taken place BEFORE Haru-chan was kidnapped. I should have created more memories for them to have before doing something so big and created more attachments for them to have... so basically the oneshots are what SHOULD have happened in this fanfic before Haru was kidnapped. Sorry for the confusion.

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

I don't know where this idea came from, but it just happened. And it was fortunate that it did. Because while I was writing this, I somehow got an idea of how to continue Genesis. Sooo, the next thing I shall update will be that! 8D Yayness! Though I don't know what you guys will think about the idea I'm going to do... >_>

Just a Dream

HappyFace1886

Since the day she was first held in his arms, Haru believed that Tsuna was the one for her.

No matter what other people told her, she truly believed that he was the one she was meant to be with. That he was the one she was supposed to spend the rest of her life with.

Because whenever she was around him, it felt so right.

It felt as though she had found her other half, the one who was supposed the other part of her soul.

Even if Tsuna only had eyes for Kyoko, Haru still clung onto that feeling of rightness, that sooner or later the two of them would be together. And even if in the end, he didn’t feel the same, she would be content to be by his side as just a mere friend.

Because she truly believed that she loved him.

But how wrong she had been...

“W-Who are you?” Haru demanded, her back pressed against the tree behind her. She hated how vulnerable she appeared, with her clothes and hair disheveled while her eyes were red and puffy from crying. Still, she refused to allow this man to think that she was easy prey. With her chin held high, she glared at the silent man.

How had he gotten here?

This was the private grounds of the Vongola Family and even if Haru wasn’t familiar with all of the workers here, the clothes the man was wearing and the strong glimmer in his eyes made it very obvious that he was no mere worker.

“You are crying,” he murmured softly. His voice was so gentle, but it was firm and strong.

Haru wiped her face with the back of her hand, but kept her gaze on him. “It doesn’t matter. Please leave Haru alone.”

He took a step forward and it took all of Haru’s will power not to squeak out of fright. “I can’t do that.”

“Stay away!” she yelled, hoping that if she was to talk louder, someone would hear her and rescue her from this strange man. Still, he continued to come closer until he was right in front of her. Haru froze, all her limbs tense and ready to lash out at any moment.

And yet when he raised his hand, Haru felt all her strength starting to ebb away. There was a soft, but sad smile on his face. He caressed her cheek delicately, almost as though he was trying to wipe her tears away, but Haru couldn’t feel anything. Was he even touching her?

“Don’t cry,” he murmured. “You would look beautiful with a smile.”

Haru gazed at the ocean tinged with red and orange due to the setting sun. Her expression remained blank while her hands tightly gripped onto the metal bars. The air was warm and soothing, reminding her of that time in summer when she had come to these very grounds once more to visit Tsuna.

She had been eighteen years old back then.

And it was then she had met him again.

“Who are you?” Haru asked with her arms crossed, looking at him with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

“You remember me,” he commented, tilting his head.

“It’s hard to forget a stranger who appeared and disappeared so abruptly,” Haru commented wryly. “Not to mention, you left a strong impression on Haru. It’s not every day a strange man appears and tells her that she looks beautiful with a smile.”

“Then do you believe it’s wise to come looking for such a strange man?”

“No.”

“Then why have you?”

Haru stared at him, memorizing each and every feature. Before, she had allowed her emotions to get the better of her and ran away right after he had stated those words. But now, she wanted to look at this man, the man who had caught her at her most vulnerable. Never had she allowed people to see her cry over Tsuna, to see how heartbroken she truly was because Tsuna chose Kyoko.

But this man was the first...

And she was determined to know more about him.

The man had such beautiful golden hair. It was wild and untamed, glowing with the beauty of the sun yet possessing what looked like the softness of silk.

...and those two toned eyes.

They reminded her so much of Tsuna.

Then softly, Haru looked at the ground, suddenly unable to handle the intensity of this man’s eyes. “Because this feels so right...”

That was the start of a strange relationship. They never saw each other every day nor did they even talk as much. It was only through occasional visits that they were able to even see each other. And never did he visit her. It was always Haru who came to see him and it was always at the same spot on the Vongola’s private lands did she meet him.

She never questioned him.

And he never answered her.

Because they both knew that once all the answers were found, reality would find them.

“When will you tell me your name?” Haru asked, sitting down beside the tree.

He didn’t answer her, merely watching her with those intense orange-red eyes of his. Haru felt the blush creep over her cheeks and she looked away.

“Why do you always come for me?” he inquired and Haru was half-tempted to give him a taste of his own medicine by not answering, but the words just somehow tumbled out by themselves.

“Because I want to see you.”

“For what reason?”

“Because...” this times, the words choked in Haru’s throat. Last time she had been able to easily explain, that just being with him felt so right, as though she was meant by his side. But this times, she just couldn’t. Maybe it was because Tsuna was going to get married to Kyoko soon... maybe it was because she was afraid that she was just using him as a replacement for Tsuna because they resembled each other.... or maybe...

“You’re afraid,” he noted, seeing her face pale.

“I....”

“What are you afraid of?”

Haru looked away.

She was afraid of just how right this felt.

She was afraid of just how comfortable she felt around this presence.

As though they had been together all along...

As though they were meant to be....

“It’s not fair,” Haru whispered, feeling the tears starting to gather in her eyes.

“Please, please tell me your name,” Haru whispered as she sat on the bare ground, not caring about how the green grass stained the beautiful bridesmaid dress she was wearing. Her face was downcast with her knees pulled up to her chest. She didn’t need to look up to know that he was standing before her. And it didn’t really matter if he was really in front of her or not. She just couldn’t look at him right now.

“You’re hurting.” He spoke and his voice was so sweet and strong, holding a sense of security that Haru wanted to wrap herself around.

Right now, it didn’t matter to her if she was crazy and this man was just a figment out of her own imagination. He was her comfort, the one she turned to when she was afraid and felt so alone. In a way, it scared Haru just how reliant she was on him, but right now it didn’t matter, she didn’t care.

“I don’t understand,” Haru whispered, almost angrily. “I love Kyoko-chan and Tsuna-san. She’s like a sister to me and I’m happy that Tsuna-san chose her because he loves her and if he’s happy, I’m happy to. But why... why does it hurt so much? Why do I feel so alone? It shouldn’t be this painful!”

“I’m sorry.”

“Why? Why are you sorry?” Haru demanded. “What is there for you to be sorry for?”

“You’re hurting.” As he spoke, Haru could almost see the pain in those normally stoic two-toned eyes. It twisted her heart to see the pain in his eyes and it drove her crazy because she didn’t know why. “And I can’t do anything for you...”

With those words spoken, Haru didn’t have the heart to tell him that she wasn’t sad or hurting because Tsuna married Kyoko.

It was the fact that she wasn’t hurting at all that had her frightened.

“Life is not fair, child,” a husky voice spoke from behind.

Haru wiped her tears away roughly and whirled around. “But why? Why is this happening? What did we do to deserve this?”

“What is your name?” Haru inquired, tucking a lock of her short hair behind her ear. After Tsuna and Kyoko’s wedding, she had decided that it was time for a change. Cutting her hair meant she was free and ready for a new start. She sat on top of a tree branch, giving the mysterious blonde hair man a bright smile.

Now twenty-four years old, Haru had graduated from college with a computer science major. It was her dream to become useful to the Vongola so that she could support her friends, to ensure that she did her part to make sure that they were safe and secure.

He gave no reply and instead continued with his customary observation. It became a sort of introduction of sorts between them. Each time Haru met him, she would ask for his name, but each time, he wouldn’t answer. And in a way, Haru hoped he never did.

She hoped these visits would continue unhindered. That she would be able to see him each time she came to the Vongola grounds.

“Fine,” Haru said with a pout. “Don’t tell me your name. Then do one thing for me in exchange.”

He made no movements and said nothing, but Haru continued as though he had given consent.

“Smile for Haru.”

He blinked. “Excuse me?”

“I want to see your smile.”

He continued to give her a look of confusion.

“Because you told me you like my smile,” she said with a shy blush. “So I want to see your smile.”

“Why?”

“So that I may like yours as well.”

After Haru had finally gotten over Tsuna, an innocent relationship started to bud between her and her mystery man. She didn’t understand it either. The full details weren’t fleshed out. But the feelings she had...

...those feelings that she believed truly belonged with another hadn’t faded away..

Haru could still remember the feelings she had back then, the pure sense of giddiness at the prospective of finally having found her true ‘the one’. That she had found the one she was meant to love and be loved from in the form of this enigmatic stranger.

How foolish she had been.

How utterly stupid!

“Calm yourself,” Talbot said soothingly, placing a hand on Haru’s shoulder. She roughly shook her head.

“But I can’t. I just can’t accept this, Talbot-san!”

“What is your name, stranger-san?” Haru asked with a smile, grabbing the branch of her customary tree. “Could you at least give me a clue? Perhaps your origins? No Japanese has such vibrant hair color like yours, unless you dye it. But your eyes? Hm... they’re like Tsuna-san’s eyes... are you two related?”

“Haru.” He said her name so smoothly, rolling it over his tongue casually as though it was something he had said many times before.

Her face flushed, because never had he once said her name. It made her heart flutter and she couldn’t help but look at him with a happy smile. “What is it stranger-san?”

“Please leave.”

She jerked back in surprise. “Hahi?”

“Leave.” He repeated firmly, turning around to leave. And yet he didn’t move, standing in that position with his back facing her.

“What... What are you saying?”

“This farce has gone long enough.” He spoke in that gentle voice that she had come to adore so much. “Leave. And never come back here.”

“Why? What did I do to make you say this so suddenly?” Haru demanded, dropping her hand from the tree branch.

“Stop!” he said sharply when she took a step forward towards him. Haru froze when she heard the steel in his voice. He had never once raised his voice to her before.

But...

Even if he was angry with her for some reason, even if he hated her for something she had done, she wanted to know why. She needed to know why. Whatever was wrong, she would fix it. She would not lose someone she had come to hold dear so soon. She refused!

And with determination laced in each step, Haru reached up for his shoulder...

...only to pass right through it...

“Hahi?” the cry was soft and filled with confusion. She stumbled forward but caught her step before she fell forward. Haru stumbled backwards and looked at her hand in blank confusion before looking at him again.

“Leave...” he whispered. “Leave and never come back. Forget what you saw. Pretend this is just a mere dream that has lasted far longer than it should have.”

“B-But-!”

“Leave!” he yelled and the ferocity within his voice caused Haru to tremble. Tears were gathering in her eyes, but she held them back. She would not cry. This was not the time to cry.

“I don’t understand. Explain all of this to me please.”

“Leave,” he repeated.

Long ago, if she had been caught in a similar situation, she would have cried her heart out. Why was this happening? In fact, what was happening? Was he really just a mere figment of her imagination? But Haru had lost a loved one before and she’d be damned before she allowed this man to simply disappear so easily before her.

No, she would never allow that.

He was worth the fight.

And he was stuck with her until the end.

“I’m staying,” she snapped with a ferocity of her own.

At first the man said nothing and the two remained in tense silence. Haru with her eyes firmly placed on the man’s back while she stood in front of the tree, her tree, the one she had always sat on whenever she came to chat with him. The same tree she had cried out all her tears for Tsuna in front of this strange man who had been a source of distant comfort.

And this man with his back facing her, a broad back –she noticed- that seemed to be weighed down so heavily by a great burden and yet it stood strong and tall.

A strong back...

...that broke under the weight of her words.

“You foolish woman,” he said harshly, but there was no malice, only frustrated acceptance. He sounded so tired, as though her stubbornness had broke something, a wall that he had erected so long ago and had stood by for far too long. “So very foolish...”

“And what will you do about it, little one?” Talbot inquired quietly.

“There has to be a way to break this,” she said resolutely. “Every beginning has an end, and he must have his. Talbot-san, you’ve lived for so long, there must be something you know about this, something that will free him and end this!”

“Ha-.”

“Please!” Haru cried out, grabbing onto his arms.

Oh gods, the tears were starting to return.

Oh gods, oh gods, oh whoever was up there watching over them all, mocking over their ridiculous fate, please...

Please...

Giotto...

Haru blushed as she murmured the name absentmindedly. So that was his name.

Giotto...

She smiled and couldn’t stop her giggle.

Giotto...

His name was Giotto!

The two remained still, the elderly man’s expression unreadable due to his covered eyes while Haru clung to him almost desperately.

“Little one...”

“Please Talbot-san...” she whispered, her voice hoarse from yelling and crying. “He’s everything to me...”

She could still see Giotto’s smiling face as he held her close to him, their bare bodies pressed intimately against each other as the two remained protected under the light of the full moon.

Only for that night...

It was that night that belonged to them...

But Haru knew she wanted more.

Some may say that she should be happy for having been able to touch him, at least even once. That she should be glad to have received at least that much, but that one night, that one single night under the full moon where he was free for just that one night, free to be touched, free to be loved, left her only craving for much, much more.

For too long had she been deprived from actually feeling loved and only giving it, for far too long had she been deprived of affection while watching longingly as Tsuna blushed and smiled at Kyoko.

Haru loved Giotto.

She loved him with everything she had because he completed her.

And damn it all if she lost him so easily!

Not like this.

Never like this.

“There is one thing that you can do...” Talbot said resignedly.

“What is it? Haru will do anything! If it means Giotto will be set free, I’ll do it!” she cried stubbornly, eyes shining with hope and determination.

Talbot sighed and gently pulled Haru’s hands from his arms. He held her hands tenderly, as though being gentle due to the softness of her hands that heavily contrasted with the callousness of his own.

“Giotto is trapped within this world... in the form of a spirit, forever tied by the regret he had concerning those of Vongola.” Talbot murmured delicately. “Cozart Shimon was basically Giotto’s brother... and the ending that Cozart reached was one Giotto deemed unacceptable. He truly believed that it was a fault of his own and thus, his soul has become cursed, trapped by his own emotions and the power of the Vongola.”

“Then why...” Haru said bitterly, almost unable to say the next words. “Why is he forgetting about me? What does his memory have to do with anything?”

“He believes that Cozart’s death and what the Vongola has become is all due to his own actions... and that is something he cannot accept, even in death. Why should he find happiness if others found death and agony under what he had so carefully grown with his hands? Giotto loved Vongola dearly and I am positive that he would be most happy with what the current Vongola head would do for the future of Vongola... however... the past is something that cannot merely disappear... and his regret lingers to this day.” Talbot inhaled deeply, as though readying himself for what he had to say next. “And that is why he forgets. You... Miura Haru... bring him happiness. If he continued to remain with you, he would grow to be happy and that would go against why he is here in the first place.”

“So what must I do? What do I have to do to help Giotto?” Haru pleaded.

“You must rewrite history.” Talbot replied hollowly. A cursed method that should never be utilized and yet, a part of Talbot knew that this was the way. This was meant to be. This child was meant to save Giotto...

...for the two of them were one heart, one soul, one eternal love...

“If you follow this way, you will never be able to return to this world. You will be stuck in that realm until the end of your days so think carefully, little one. For this is a one way ticket... and there is no coming back.”

“I’ll do it.” Haru replied decisively, looking at Talbot with steel in her eyes. “Tell me how to go back in time and I’ll do it.”

At first, Talbot was stunned by her resolution but in the end, couldn’t stop the chuckle that escaped. Such fire, such intensity, no wonder Giotto, despite lingering in his haze of regret, felt drawn to her. Unable to hide his smile, Talbot tightened his grip on Haru’s hand in determination.

“Then let me show you the path, little one.”
