Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

“That movie was wonderful,” Haru said almost tearfully. She used her handkerchief to brush away the traces that did appear from the corner of her eye before sighing. “In fact, it would have been even better if we had been able to watch the ending!”

Her words ended in a loud scolding yell as she pointed the hand holding the handkerchief at Hibari who kicked one of the thugs on the ground. Oh gods, this boy was hopeless! This was supposed to be a romantic date between girlfriend and boyfriend... and here they were in an alley, disciplining unruly gangsters.

“So the rumors are true,” one of the thugs with a bloodied nose crowed. “The untouchable Prefect got himself a bitch.”

“Hahi, excuse me?” Haru shrieked. “What did you just call Haru?”

“You heard me, you bi-.” The words were cut off by a foot that imprinted itself onto the man’s forehead.

“Herbivores should remain silence,” Hibari said coldly, grinding the sole of his shoe into the man’s face.

“Stop doing that, he’s already down!” Haru protested when she saw that the man had fallen unconscious with how hard Hibari had shoved him into the ground. Hibari gave her a look of irritation, but Haru was having none of that. She placed her hands on her hips, standing in the standard stance of angry confrontation. “Why did you go picking a fight, Kyoya?”

“Those who break the rules deserve discipline,” he said simply, flicking his wrist in order to rid of the bloodstains on one of his tonfas. And it had been a perfect way of relieving stress.

Haru looked at the tonfas wearily. Hibari truly didn’t go anywhere without his customary weapons. She didn’t want to take them away from him, but Hibari really had to stop attacking anyone that irritated him. And so, she groaned with frustrations instead. “If we hurry back, we can probably catch the end of the movie.”

He didn’t reply, giving his answer to her by turning in the direction that was opposite to the movie theater.

“Kyoya!” she scolded, running after him.

“If you want to finish it, then you can return there on your own.” He replied coolly.

“Hahi, why must you make things so difficult?” she cried, chasing after him. “Besides, we’re also watching movies so that you can understand why love is so powerful! Not to mention, we might get an idea of how to teach you what love is like.”

If rolling his eyes wasn’t beneath him, Hibari would have done so. Instead, he frowned and walked faster in hopes of getting away from the area. There were too many people around and while he had no problem with batting everyone away from him, the stupid girl would get upset and probably throw herself on him to stop him.

How much longer could this go on?

He wasn’t getting any closer to the power Haru proclaimed was the reason why the herbivore had gotten so strong.

Was he doing something wrong?

Or was there something wrong with the girl?

Perhaps he was being too hasty with his judgment? The movies she had forced him to watch did sometimes say that love couldn’t be rushed. It was something that happened.

The fact that it couldn’t be controlled so easily irritated Hibari... and at the same time, thrilled him. A powerful that couldn’t be tamed. He would force it under his thumb and make it obey his every word.

He slowed down enough for Haru to catch up with him. As much as he didn’t like it, he had no choice but to rely on this girl.

Haru rested her palms on her knees, breathing hard as she tried to catch her breath. “Are you... done... pouting?”

Hibari briefly looked offended by this accusation before scowling. Ignore. He must ignore for now. This girl wasn’t as useful as he’d hoped she’d be in helping him understand what love was, but the movies did at least try to give some explanations.

But there had been so many scenes? Which way was right?

Haru fidgeted at how dark Hibari’s scowl was. In fact, she was shifting her eyes around hesitation. There wouldn’t happen to be more unruly hooligans loitering around the vicinity, was there? Because there was one particularly antsy Prefect that needed to vent and Haru sincerely didn’t want to bear the brunt of that experience.

Instead, she was startled when a hand reached out to grab hers. In fact, she jumped in surprise and almost slapped the offender... only to realize that it was Hibari.

Her eyes bugged out and she gawked at him openly.

He returned her gaze with a blank look.

“W-W-What are you doing?” she stammered.

“The movies,” he grunted out. “They did this.”

Haru nodded dumbly. “Y-Yes, they did.”

“So we will do this too.” He said bluntly.

Haru stared at their hands. “L-Like the movies?”

He nodded. “Like the movies.”

Anything that would help him get closer to his goal.

Meanwhile, Haru made a mental note to stop showing him romantic films, especially if it was a maturely related ones. If he was deciding to emulate them just for the sake of ‘understanding love’ who knows what he’d do if they ended up watching one of those!

Her face exploded into the shade of a tomato and she roughly shook her head.

Definitely a bad idea.

Genesis - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - Chapter 14

Summary: There was a reason why Reborn got Haru involved with the Mafia. Even if she was useless to them in fights and even if she couldn't provide as much emotional strength as Kyoko, she was vital and without her, there would just be no Vongola. G86/GiottoHaru

Genesis: Chapter 14

HappyFace1886

Haru giggled at the pout on Giotto’s face as he sulked on top of one of the boulders. He hadn’t taken well to the idea that he had lost the game, even if he had figured out who it was that she was thinking of. At first, he had tried feebly to argue against her, but in the end, had ended up reluctantly agreeing to her victor.

And now, she was allowed one favor from him.

It was hard to think of something since, honestly, there was nothing that she wanted from him. She didn’t want to force him to tell his past and she didn’t want to taint their innocent game by bringing that problem into it. Haru was determined to keep serious topics and their fun moments separate.

So what could she make him do?

She looked upward contemplatively and her eyes widened with delight. “Hahi, the trees are changing color!”

Giotto looked up curiously and saw that she was staring at the tall trees where the normally green colored leaves were slightly turning yellow. The summer air had lately been cooling, but not to the point that it was chilly.

An unreadable look filled his eyes.

Fall was coming.

He heard the sound of Haru trying to climb up the boulder and tried to wipe away his previous expression, reaching down to help her up. She stumbled forward clumsily and fell into his arms. There was a squeak from her as she landed on him and when he felt her weight on his lap, he tightened his grip around her without thinking.

Giotto froze briefly in surprise and then relished the feel of her comforting presence. He buried his face into her hair, wanting to hide away from the changing seasons. The cold would come and the frigid season was something he always dreaded. Nothing good ever came with the snow.

Haru squirmed a bit on top of him, but didn’t fight against him since it didn’t look like he was going to let go of her anytime soon. “G-Giotto-sama?”

“It’s going to get cold,” he whispered.

“Ah, the weather isn’t that cold yet,” Haru exclaimed, her face flushed for reasons she knew shouldn’t bother her anymore. For goodness sake, these two shared the same bath tub together and even the same bed! He cuddled against her in said bed too! She shouldn’t be bothered by the fact that she was sitting on his lap and that she could feel his breath brushing against her nape. “In fact, I’m... erm... pretty warm right now.”

Hahi, did this mean that at night he was going to be even clingier? She had just barely been able to get used to how he’d hold her so tightly at night! How was she going to survive the colder seasons if he tangled their limbs up even more?

“With fall come changes,” he whispered and Haru shivered at how his hot breath danced on her delicate skin. “The leaves will change color and bring people into a false sense of security with their vibrant shades. The weather will cool enough to relieve people of the summer heat... but then comes winter.”

One of his hands trailed upwards, his fingers tracing up her bare arm and up her neck until it was tangled in her hair. Did Giotto-sama even understand how intimate his touches were? It felt like he was doing it for comfort, as if by doing this, he would be able to relax. The tension that had been in his muscles when she had first fallen on him seemed to melt away with each caress he made on her skin.

The way he touched her made Haru quiver, her breath hitched at the almost ticklish touches.

“We lose so much with the merciless cold,” he spoke and tightened his grip on her hair, as if to emphasis what could be lost. “Winter takes without hesitation... depleting people of everything until nothing is left but the cold.”

“But Giotto-sama,” she whispered breathlessly, turning to look at him. They were now so close together, their faces inches apart from each other. She felt his breath brushing against her lips and the blush on her face deepened, her eyes glazed as they stared deep into those dark two-toned eyes. “When winter comes, there’s spring to think of.”

What was this hold he seemed to have on her?

With any other guy, she would have shrieked and pulled away, saying things were moving too fast and this was too embarrassing.

But with him, with Giotto-sama, she allowed him to get away with so much.

Was it really just the innocent touches of a boy her age with a childish mindset?

It did seem like he held onto her for reassurance, but even Giotto-sama had to realize just how close they were with each other.

And yet, their compromising positioning was far from her thoughts, her mind subconsciously answering his unspoken questions.

“All things always come to an end,” she murmured through hooded eyes. Was... Was Giotto-sama leaning closer or was it her imagination? “But with spring, new things will start.”

“I don’t want new things if it means losing the old.” Oh gods, with just the movement of his lips, Haru swore she felt him brush against her own. “I don’t want to lose you Haru.”

Was that... Was that terror she heard in his voice?

She snapped out of whatever trance she was in and leaned back, getting a better look of Giotto-sama’s face. There was such sadness and fear, something she had never seen before in another person. It was something she hadn’t seen even during the Byakuran incident when she had been with the others and it looked like their own futures looked bleak.

Hahi, she wanted to hit herself. How could she think of something... something so rude like as if.... as if Giotto-sama was interested in her in some other way when he was hurting like this? She was an idiot! So selfish! So... So... hahi, she didn’t even know how to name this!

She had to get her act together. Giotto-sama didn’t see her that way. He couldn’t and he wouldn’t! It was his descendants that would produce Tsuna-san in the future, after all. If anything, she had to think of herself as a security blanket for him or something... or-or a sister?

Bringing her focus back on Giotto-sama, she tried to give him a reassuring smile. “I promised Giotto-sama that I’m not going anywhere.”

“My parents said the same thing,” Giotto revealed, pressing his forehead against hers. His eyes were closed and she knew he was reliving his memories. “And winter took them away from me.”

Haru raised her hands to run her fingers through Giotto’s hair. If he took comfort by touching her, maybe if she reciprocated the actions, it would calm him. It seemed to work since it seemed like he melted under the strokes. “You were a child back then, weren’t you?”

There was a small nod.

“But Giotto-sama isn’t a child anymore.” She said firmly. “You’re older and much stronger now. If you don’t want me to leave and I don’t want to leave as well, then together, I’m sure we can make sure that we’re together in the future as well.”

Her words appeared to register in his mind and there was no response from Giotto. Instead, he tucked her head under his chin, his arms wrapped around tightly.

Haru clenched her eyes shut, trying to stop the pounding of her heart.

She was just a security blanket.

Just a security blanket.

As she tried to make herself belief those very words, Giotto looked listlessly off into the distance. There was a hard glimmer in those unnatural glowing eyes and a spark of fire flickered in the center of his wild untamed hair.

That’s right. He was no longer a child. He was much stronger and more capable than he was a few years ago. Those who wanted to take from him would not be able to without a fight. Not anymore.

Let them all try to take Haru away from him.

His jaws became set and he closed his eyes, the unnoticed flames on his hair slowly flickering away.

But he sincerely hoped it would not come to that.

Chapter Eight: The Test

HappyFace1886

It was like the devils incarnate had appeared before her, the scars on his face adding to the vicious look he had. Haru’s eyes, however, were focused on the pistol pointing at her. It was glowing a brilliant shade of red and was crackling with energy. How was that even possible? What kind of weapon did that?

First that red headed ninja-boy jumping up to impossible heights and now a glowing gun that shot lasers?

What kind of cheap sci-fi movie was she in?

Before she could even comment on the incredulousness of the situation, she yelped as the scarred man released a shot, shooting right in front of her. Haru crawled backwards a bit, looking frightened as the ground sizzled a bit where the laser had gone through.

Who the fuck are you?” came the words out harshly in Italian. Her mind was barely able to grasp the foreign words, but her voice was stuck in her throat. This man was insane and probably a blood thirsty killer. Aside from the obvious, his eyes said that he wasn’t a normal man.

“Ha-.”

Wrong answer, trash.” Came the harsh reply before another shot was fired. Haru ducked and smelled burnt hair. Her eyes then widened and out came a squeak of indignation as she looked behind her head.

“My hair!” she yelled, seeing the edges of her hair burnt to a crisp. Her eyes widened further when she saw how the edges were still glowing a bit, threatening to burst into flames. She immediately smothered them before clutching onto her ruined hair, giving this cold, evil man one of the harshest glare she could muster. However, so caught up in her anger, all she could do was lift her assaulted hair in his direction while repeating the same two words with more anger than shock this time. “My hair!”

The f-.

“You burned my hair!” she yelled, the brown tresses that had reached to her mid-back now looking ridiculous with how the middle part of her hair was burnt to her shoulders while the rest of her hair reached the normal length. “How dare you! Don’t you know how important one’s hair is to a girl?”

“Stupid woman, like I give a damn about your hair!” Xanxus snarled in perfect Japanese, but Haru didn’t even notice the switch in languages. In fact, she didn’t even care that the glowing gun was still dangerously close to her person.

Her innocent hair was ruined!

All the stress that had piled up tonight swirled tumultuously within her, threatening to explode. And this time, Haru didn’t bother to hold them in bay. She let them roam wildly inside of her.

Justice must be enacted!

Haru’s hand reached out towards Xanxus, but before she could even get near him, he had stepped backwards and grabbed her by the wrist. His grip was tight and she winced. A cold dread filled her stomach at his merciless gaze, but her anger refused to be smothered.

“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” he demanded. Whoever this woman was, she wasn’t dangerous. That much was obvious with the way she was squeaking around everywhere. The only reason why he didn’t blast her right there was because if she obviously didn’t have the skills to sneak in, then that meant she was let in. And he wanted to know why. After that, then he’d blast her.

Brown eyes glowered at him, tugging slightly at her captured wrist in hopes that maybe he’ll let go. “See, you don’t like it either when people try to touch you without permission.”

The hell? Was this woman crazy?

“Apologize!” Haru demanded.

Xanxus stared at her.

“Apologize to Haru’s poor hair!” and as if to emphasize on the pain her hair must be going through, Haru whipped her head around so that the burnt part of it was in Xanxus’ face. He almost sputtered since parts of her untouched hair smacked him on the face. Instead, his face darkened and his grip on his gun tightened.

This annoying woman was going to die.

“Woman-.” He growled, only to be interrupted.

“Hahi,” Haru huffed in frustration, still trying to wrench her arm free from Xanxus’ death grip. “It’s not that hard to apologize! What is it with people in Italy constantly invading Haru’s personal space? First the perverted Decimo whatever, the red head, and now you! All Haru wants is an apology! At least the red head apologized! Maybe it’s with people in Vongola who just have no manners-eep!”

Haru squealed as she stumbled backwards onto the ground when Xanxus abruptly released her. She groaned and winced, muttering under her breath about how she had been abruptly abusing her poor bottom by falling on it a lot in the past few hours. When she looked up, Haru’s stomach dropped.

The scary man with the noticeable burns had an unreadable look on his face.

“Decimo?” he murmured.

“Hahi!” Haru immediately got up from the floor, ignoring the fact that this man had been about to kill her just seconds ago. “Do you know where I can find him?”

The man continued to stare at her before his lips curled into a sneer. It wasn’t long before that turned into a full blown out laugh. He clutched onto his stomach, howling with what sounded like laughter of disbelief.

“The fucking brat,” he choked out, “with pathetic trash like you?”

Haru scowled at the insults and how he was keeping her out of the loop. “Hey! What’s so funny?”

“The brat wouldn’t have chosen you for a pathetic reason,” he said, slowly composing himself. However, the thrilled amusement had yet to fade. “I know him enough to know that he wouldn’t have let things become this serious without being able to get something in return.”

A chill went down Haru’s spine and she had the good sense to take a step back. “W-What are you trying to say?”

The gun was lifted upward and pointed at her again. “I’m saying fucking dance, trash.”

There was no time to scream as Haru leaped to the side, avoiding the laser-like shot once more. She grunted when she fell onto the ground, but there was no time to even yell at him for shooting at her again. His gun was following her position, shooting without inhibition. And judging by the expression on that man’s face, he was enjoying this! He was enjoying toying with her life!

That alone was enough to make her want to scream with rage.

Was Dante-san wrong about the Vongola? Were they just a bunch of thugs, the actual definition of the mafia? But what did this make Dante-san? And that guy, Yamamoto? Yamamoto-san seemed nice and Dante-san was even friends with her father! Why were they associating themselves with someone like the mafia?

“Is that all you got?” Xanxus taunted, the amusement gradually fading when nothing seemed to be happening. Had he been wrong? Was this girl just a temporary interest that had just managed to last a little longer than the others?

No, that couldn’t be right. Rumors about this girl’s existence were spreading around the underworld. Dealing with such gossip was troublesome and not something Tsuna would want to deal with if it was with some random form of amusement.

The sneer on Xanxus’ face deepened.

Maybe she just needed a little more push?

Haru hid behind one of the statues in the hallways, biting her lip at how close one of the gunshots had been to hitting her. One of the laser bullets then sliced through her cheek and she almost cried out. Instead, she bit her lip harder, crouching down low.

Maybe if she just got that gun away from him, things would be easier?

Sitting against the base of the statue, Haru briefly closed her eyes.

Oh gods, please let this work.

She gasped when the gunshots seemed to strengthen and gritted her teeth at how the force seemed to shake her against the statute. Did this man ever run out of bullets?

Xanxus doubled the power of his gun, easily tearing through parts of the statue like tissue paper. From the corner of his eyes, he saw her slipping off the jacket. Did she think she could fool him into thinking that she was pretending to be there? Knowing how peons thought, she’d probably try to get him to believe she was there while she crawled down the hallway behind the statues until she was either behind him or a safe distance away from him.

As if he’d fall for that.

Reaching behind him, Xanxus pulled out his second gun and without hesitation, proceeded to demolish every single statue before and behind him. He laughed at how all of the statues seemed to crumble into pieces. Good, he had always hated how ridiculous the designs were. Maybe this would give them a chance to actually clean this place up.

The blast of energy seemed to last forever, tearing through all the stoned figurines until they were in pieces. And when he finally came to a stop, he noticed that he had actually destroyed part of the hallway as well. Xanxus scoffed. Great, the elders were going to try and gnaw his ear off for that. Maybe he could send Squalo in his place for the lecture.

Xanxus gave his surroundings a lazy once over.

A pity. The woman was dead. She had to be, especially with the fire power he had thrown into the small hallway. The brat was going to be pissed as hell at him for this, but that didn’t matter.

The Vongola had no need for weak trash.

A mixture of annoyance at how he had wasted his time and disappointment that the brat had actually allowed himself to indulge in such a pathetic weak woman, Xanxus placed his guns away. And the moment he did so, he heard the sound of crystals chiming together. His body froze and he saw his shadow moving, his head snapping upward to see that stupid brown haired woman clutching onto the trembling chandelier as she stood on it.

When the hell did she get up there?

His hand automatically went for his guns, to shoot her down before she did... did... well, something!

Had he been mistaken?

Was this woman actually a threat?

Haru shuddered, trembling as she clutched onto the chandelier, inhaling deeply before crying out loudly. “I can’t get down from here!”

Xanxus froze, his fingers barely wrapping around his guns.

What did she just say?

Meanwhile, Haru was in near tears. “It’s all your fault, you jerk! So you better help Haru down right now!”

Xanxus scowled, what the hell was she talking about? Stupid woman, taking him by surprise like that.

Meanwhile, Haru clutched onto the chandelier tightly. Oh gods, how was she supposed to have known that this man was some crazy trigger-happy maniac? She had no idea he had a second gun and even if she had predicted that possibility, how could she have known he would have gone gun-crazy and destroyed everything in the nearby vicinity?

She had climbed onto one of the now destroyed statues, having planning on tackling the man or something in order to get him off guard. Maybe if she was lucky, she could have torn his gun away from him.

But no, he had to go crazy and make her leap instinctively, clutching and climbing onto the chandelier for safety.

...this day could not get any worse!

The sound a gun cocking made her freeze and when she looked down, she saw that the man was pointing his glowing gun at her.

Scratch that, this day could get a lot worse!

The scream was belted out as the shot was fired. Haru felt the chandelier fail her, the smell of melting metal filling her senses. The man had shot the chandelier! And now it was falling and she was going to die in some terrible glass-filled death!

This had to be some sort of nightmare.

She had arrived in Italy with so much hopes and dreams, all of it dashed away by several perverts and some gun totting mafia member!

As she fell and screamed her lungs out, the only thing Haru could think of was that she was going to haunt every single one of them until their last breath if it was the last thing she did in the afterlife!

Her eyes were tightly clenched shut as she awaited her doomed faith when suddenly, her body was propelling forward. No longer was she clutching onto the chandelier as she was forcibly vaulted forward. Her hand reached out blindingly and she felt her fingers wrap around something soft and smooth.

Brown eyes marred with tears looked up and gasped at the sight of untamed wild hair glowing with a flickering flame that seemed to emit power. A hand was on her back, the other hooked under her knees. Both were pulling her closer to the warm body, a protective possessive hold while the entire frame of her savior seemed to... shake?

Was it of fear?

Haru’s eyes widened at the sight of the flashing two-toned eyes.

No, not fear.

That wasn’t even close to the emotions flowing through those eyes.

She and the pervert had finally been reunited.

And from the looks of it, he was undeniably pissed.

AU: Whew, sorry for lateness with this. I'm sorry if this feels like a filler, but I felt like it was necessary. :) Besides, I can't see Xanxus just ignoring her if he knew she was the one that was messing around with the norm for the Vongola. Not to mention, she's been causing some indirect trouble for him with the rumors and such. @_@ Or maybe I'm just getting his personality wrong.
