Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Handcuffs - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - 1886

Summary: Her heart dropped at the eerie sound of what felt like handcuffs latching to her wrist. A simple short 1886 drabble!

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC.

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise.  I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Handcuffs

HappyFace1886

Haru froze at the sound of a soft clicking noise, her eyes practically bugging out when she felt a soft weight around her slender wrist. She immediately whirled around to see the haughty smirk on Hibari’s face. He looked so pleased with himself that she initially couldn’t get the words dislodged from her throat.

Finally finding her voice, Haru lifted her wrist and shook it, the handcuff jingling loudly with the movement. She spoke incredulously, her mind unable to comprehend just how they had come to this point. “What is this?”

He gave her a look that said she was acting stupid again. “I grow tired of having to watch your every movement to prevent you from getting yourself killed due to your ridiculously clumsy nature.”

“And what does that have to do with you handcuffing me to you?” Haru demanded with exasperation, tugging at the cuffs incessantly in the hopes that it would miraculously break if she tried hard enough. However, the specially made handcuff simply rattled harmlessly. “Kyoya!”

“Simple,” he replied smoothly and jerked his wrist away, causing her to fall forward in his direction. She yelped and landed against him, her hands pressed against the flat plains of his chest while his free arm wrapped itself around her slim waist. Her face flushed at how close they were and her heart skipped a beat when he leaned even closer, the smug look on his face growing as he whispered against her lips. “I’ll just have to keep you chained to me twenty-four seven.”

AN: I'm sorry, dear readers, for my lack of updates. Being home and jobless means I have to do all the house chores and other tasks that are given to me. Combined that with job-hunting, it's difficult to sit down and get in the zone to write. I hope to update Teach Me Love soon so I can continue with my other fanfics. I hope this drabble will at least cheer some people up!

Teach Me Love - Chapter 21

Summary: "Show me this so-called greatness of the power of love," Hibari ordered. "Fall in love with me." Haru could only stupidly gawk at him. Just what the heck did she get herself involved in? HaruxMultiple Pairings

Chapter Twenty-one: Vongola

HappyFace1886

The sound of footsteps caught Hideo’s ears, but he simply casually leaned against the park bench. A sneer of a smile was on his face even as he felt the terrifying bloodlust tear throughout the area. Others might have been affected by such hostility, however Hideo was immune. No, in fact, he felt delighted by this sensation.

For too long he had been overwhelmed by this sensation. Night by night, he would have nightmares of this sensation, the prickling of his skin as his instincts cried for him to run. The hot sweat that would drip down his skin as he woke up gasping, his scar throbbing with pain at the reminder of that brat’s existence.

“Prefect,” Hideo greeted as parting from the trees was the silhouette of the all too familiar dark-haired boy. There was murder in his eyes, exactly as Hideo had wanted. Yes, let the rage build, become consumed by it. It’ll make everything all the sweeter once it was over.

“Bastard!” the mood was broken when Gokudera yelled out, pointing an offending finger at Hideo. “Where the hell did you put the stupid woman?”

Gokudera was ignored as Hideo’s gaze remained glued to Hibari. “How does it feel, little Prefect, to have fallen so low?

“Oi!” Gokudera growled.

“Shouldn’t we be asking you that question?” Yamamoto interjected calmly, though none could say that the calm was due to detachment. The smile on his face was gone, replaced by a simple frown that spoke in volume of his rage. Gripped tightly in his hand was his sword, ready to attack on moment’s notice. “Kidnapping an innocent helpless girl only because she became involved with someone you had a grudge against. Just how pathetic can you get?”

“Shut up,” Hideo spat, the cocky jeer he had been giving them changing at the accusation. “You have no idea what it’s like to live in fear of your memories. This is my way of overcoming all that, to give that fucking kid what he deserves! It’s to get revenge for all those years of trembling in fear, unable to even beat the shit out of him for what he did to me The bastard should learn to understand what a scary place the world is... just like the rest of you!”

“Enough,” Hibari had enough of their babble. It was starting to grate on his nerves. “Where is she?”

As if Hibari’s voice had caused a switch to flip over, Hideo recovered from his episode and snickered. “But who would have thought that that monster that stalked my dreams ended up becoming so pathetic like this? In the past he was much scarier, so ruthless and unforgiving. Right now? He’s nothing but a shadow of who he used to be.”

“Then give us Haru back,” Yamamoto snapped impatiently and Tsuna actually shifted a bit away at the frightening aura Yamamoto was giving off. It was enough to cause him to glance uncertainly at him. It was rare for Yamamoto to become this upset. While true that Yamamoto cared for Haru and hung out with her more than the rest of them, but the way he was acting right now... it felt so much more personal.

...could he also be-?

Hideo released a bark of laughter, tossing his head back with the gesture. “Give her back? Why the fuck should I? She’s become the greatest hostage I’ve ever held. Even if the fucking prefect is so pathetic now, at least I get to see him squirm in despair as he remains helpless while I saw off that stupid bitch’s fingers one by-.”

Flames erupted almost against Tsuna’s will as a fury he had never felt before exploded within him. His expression became impassive, but none could deny the anger that burned deeply within his eyes. It made Hibari narrow his eyes at him, all too aware of the memory of how Haru had hotly yelled at him, saying Tsuna was strong because of the power of love. Had that annoying woman also not spewed that this weak herbivore like that light brown haired girl?

Could he also be...?

“Where is Haru?” Tsuna demanded.

Though taken aback by the sheer power the boy was giving off, Hideo sneered at him. “Good luck finding her.”

Gokudera cursed before taking a step back and to the side until he was covering a part of Tsuna’s back. Yamamoto did the side, taking other side. They were surrounded. How the hell did so many people encircle them so quickly without them noticing? The memory of the assassin from the past resurfaced and he almost groaned. Of course, it had to be him... and the guy must’ve brought friends.

“...if you can even get out of this alive, that is.” Hideo laughed as he jumped over the bench, intent on escaping from the imminent bloodshed. Before he completely disappeared from view, he could be seen reaching into his pocket and pulling out a phone. The smile on his face rapidly changed to that of a furious glower. His anger was so great that parts of his yell to the phone could be somewhat heard despite the distance. ‘...find her!... break... stop her from running!’

The chaos occurred all at once, several men lunging for each of the teens. They weren’t the typical grunts that they had faced before when Haru had been kidnapped. This time, they were hard-core fighters, the assassins that Reborn and Bianchi must’ve referred to earlier.

“Hn,” Hibari lifted his arms, parting the coat of his school uniform that was draped over his shoulders. If this was the way Hideo wanted to play it, then fine. The man may have Haru for now, but once he found her and caught up to the pathetic herbivore... that scar and the nightmares he kept whimpering about would be a delightful dream compared to what he planned on doing to him.

“We meet again,” a voice spoke and the assassin with the long metal claws appeared from above, standing on top of the lamppost. His eyes watched the fights, taking into consideration the skill of all of them. However, his eyes were mostly trained on Tsuna’s glowing figure.

Those flames...

Those eyes...

Where had he seen that? It was on the fringes of his memory... he just couldn’t get a clear answer.

“Decimo,” Gokudera dodged a swipe of a blade that had been about to dig into his arm. “It’s that bastard again!”

Tsuna grabbed the front of one of the assailant’s shirt, spinning on his heel in order to throw the man to the side. He looked up after hearing Gokudera’s voice and saw the man with the ridiculously long tongue, his weapon gleaming insidiously underneath the faint moonlight. “Who are you?”

“My name? Luca... and you are my prey!” the man lunged for Tsuna, his subordinates obediently leaping to the side.

“Decimo!” Gokudera yelled and was about to leap in to help when another of Luca’s underlings appeared before him. “Shit!”

“Worry more about yourself first,” one of them spat when a foot came and slammed into the side of his face. It sent him stumbling sideways, but before he could get far, a hand came and grabbed the side of his shirt and roughly pulled him forward.

“You,” Yamamoto said with a stiff smile, “will tell me exactly where I can find Haru.”

“Like hell I will,” the man yelled, despite how his face was already swelling up into a terrible bruise. He was surprisingly stronger than he looked, breaking away from Yamamoto’s grip.

“Oh you’ll tell us alright,” Gokudera snarled. “Because we’re the-.”

“Shut up, you punk!” another man appeared from behind and Gokudera side-stepped to the right, avoiding the stab of a knife.

“Who you calling a punk?” Gokudera kicked the man on the stomach and threw a dynamite stick at him as well, knowing there was no way he was going to recover from that. “I’m part of the-.”

“Like we care what school club you’re a part of, kid.” another assailant sneered. “You should be glad that the client requested that we don’t use guns or else you four would have been long gone by now.”

“Club... school club?” Gokudera gawked before sizzling in anger, lunging for the man. “Like hell I was going to say that we’re of some school club! Shit, what famiglia are you from?”

“Ooh fancy,” the man dodged Gokudera’s punch. “They teach Italian in Japanese schools these days?”

“I am Italian, shit-head!” Gokudera opened his fist and grabbed the back of the man’s neck, jerking him downward so that he could slam his knee into the man’s stomach. The assassin gagged at the feel of the content of his stomach threatening to flow out. He clutched his injured abdomen and fell forward while Gokudera puffed out his chest, looking extremely pissed off. “We’re the fucking Vongola, that’s who we are!”

The name was enough to cause a pause in most of the fighting... at least from the enemy’s side. Hibari showed no mercy, slamming his tonfa into the faces and stomachs of many, sending them all crumbling to the ground. Even Luca had stopped fighting, though Tsuna had the decency to stop as well, stepping backwards to create space between them.

“Like hell you’re Vongola! It’s just a trick to get us off g-!” the underling had no chance to finish his sentence as Hibari shoved the tonfa into his neck, nearly breaking his wind-pipe.

“Where did you hear that name?” Luca asked in a low voice, never taking his eyes off of Tsuna.

“Where the fuck do you think?” Gokudera snarled.

“Don’t listen to them boss!” one of the grunts yelled. “Why would a big shot organization like the Vongola allow a bunch of kids into their group?”

“Allow? We’re the fucking Guardians of the Vongola!”

This time Luca laughed, a low growling sound that would normally send shivers down the spine of his prey. “The Guardians? Everyone knows that it’s the Varia that’s going to inherit that position.”

“That decision was changed a few months ago,” Yamamoto coolly mentioned. “The trial amongst the candidates to be the new Vongola Guardians and heir took place in Japan. Since we defeated the Varia, we’re now the new Guardians and Tsuna,” he nodded at the silent boy with the grim expression on his face,” is the future Decimo of the Vongola.”

“And what proof do you have of that?” Luca shot back.

At that, Yamamoto simply pulled out the chain around his neck, revealing an all too familiar ring at the end of it. Luca may not have had the chance to have a clear look of the rings of the Guardians, but he knew the general appearance of it. But what truly sealed the deal was the boy in front of him.

Luca slowly turned his head back to where Tsuna stood.

Those flames...

Of course!

Many years ago, he had seen the flames in person. That majestic flare that could only belong to only one family. How could he have forgotten about it? No... it was because his mind couldn’t believe that something as regal as those flames could belong to such a small child. The only other person he had seen bear those flames, other than Xanxus of the Varia, was the Nono of the Vongola.

The flames of this boy was the exact same as the flames that would erupt on the scepter of the Nono’s.

The strength in Luca’s legs disappeared as he fell to his knees.

Shit...

Shit!

Seeing their leader fall to the ground, several of his underlings shifted uncertainly. The fear was evident in their eyes as they had all grown up listening to the stories of the great Vongola... and by laying a hand on their precious heir, who knew what the Vongola and the rest of the mafia world would do to them in retribution?

“...mercy... we didn’t know,” Luca whispered.

“Whatever you’re going to say doesn’t matter to me,” Tsuna stepped closer to the fallen man who meekly raised his head. “If it means being able to protect Haru, I will take on the Vongola name... I won’t allow people like you to lay a hand on her... so before I lose my patience, where’s Haru?”

Her lungs burned as she forced herself to continue running through the endless halls of wherever these men had taken her. With each turn, Haru made sure to memorize the route she was taking in order to create a mental map of this place. Despite how she now had several bruises all over her person and was bleeding on the shoulders and leg, her mind remained sharp. She needed to know the layout of this place in case she ran into another goon.

Still, her stomach churned as she carried the heavy pipe that now had stains of blood on it. The blood didn’t belong to her, but that didn’t mean it still didn’t make her feel sick... especially since she could still hear the crack of someone’s skull when she had bludgeoned the person with it.

So frightening... scary... but not enough to make her stop. She had enough of being rescued. She was no longer the weak, helpless girl that cried as she waited to be saved. No longer would she be a burden to anyone. And right now, she had been very fortunate so far with the element of surprise being by her side.

“Thank you everyone...” she murmured to herself. If not for everyone’s patience and all the time and effort they had given her to make her stronger, she wouldn’t have been successful escaped from that room.

By some miracle, if she was able to survive this, she was definitely going to prepare some delicious food for everyone in order to show their gratitude.

Her foot skid as she turned the next corner and her heart skipped a beat at the sight of the night sky through the small window of the door at the end of the hall.

Finally!

Freedom!

Haru was several feet away from the door, her arm outstretched as her hand reached out to grab the handle. But even before she could encircle her fingers around the door knob, a hand shot out from the small opening between the walls. It encircled around her wrist and roughly pulled her to the side. Haru barely has time to let out a high-pitched scream when something was pressed against her and a sharp pain filled her entire body.

Her consciousness faded as she fell to the ground with a loud thump.

From the shadows, Hideo appeared with a vicious grin on his face. Held in his hand was a black tazer that crackled menacingly. He tilted his head, seeing his useless subordinates having finally made their way to the entrance of the building.

“That’s how you take this bitch down.”

Lipgloss

HappyFace1886

The official ceremony in which the title of Vongola Decimo was handed to the next head was held early in the morning, the transfer of power occurring almost poetically with the start of the new day. It also gave people an excuse to start partying much earlier and longer into the day.

From a few feet away, Xanxus’ lips curled into a sneer at the sight of the passed out grunts strewn all over the floor. He remained in his seat, after having downed shot after shot of alcohol, largely ignoring the shouts and cheering whoops from the Varia as they drunk themselves into a stupor. Some were also discreetly talking of the future, knowing of Xanxus’ sensitivity about the title of Decimo, of how many were talking about the bright future ahead of Vongola with their new leader. The brat had grown even further over the years, further intensifying his already renowned reputation.

Yes, Sawada Tsunayoshi had definitely grown to be someone worthy of being the head of the Vongola. At least in the eyes of others. To Xanxus, the pathetic piece of trash will always remain the same. Spineless. Cowardly. And weak. Even if the boy, now man, may have some commendable points, he was not someone worth paying attention to in Xanxus’ eyes.

Still, duty was duty, leading to his presence in the ceremony. Squalo had been all over his ass trying to get him to go and it didn’t help that the rest of the Varia had joined in, giving Xanxus a migraine he didn’t mind taking out on others. Others had meekly kept away from him, knowing how Xanxus coveted the position now obtained by someone he considered unworthy. They knew all too well the searing hot pain of his bullets or the feel of his boot shooting up heir asses whenever he was displeased.

Hmph, a bunch of pathetic pansies.

He leaned back against his seat, crossing his arms as he assumed his usual pose with his eyes closed. The food was somewhat decent and the alcohol was of a higher quality, not that he would accept anything but such a thing. The organization was definitely going all out to celebrate the new leader and they didn’t even have to spend much with their private funds since a lot of the other mafia organizations were sending gifts and tribulations. Some were even governmental officials. The typical suck-ups. It was why it was possible for there to be so many parties taking place in many parts of the world.

The celebration with brat of honor himself was taking place in Japan. After the official ceremonies had finished, Xanxus had high-tailed it out of there, preferring to stay in his own abode rather than watch the pathetic lot drink themselves to oblivion.

...not that his place was fairing any better.

“Voi!” Squalo howled, kicking some of the unconscious drunks to the side. It was clear by the flush of his cheeks that had had plenty of alcohol as well. “You pathetic shits! Can’t even hold your liquor!” He then tossed his head back, laughing hardily as he reached for another glass.

In another corner, Xanxus could hear a bunch of idiots yelling ‘chug, chug, chug’ as Belphegor participated in a drinking contest with a dozen subordinates. Many of the fallen drunks were casualties of his surprisingly high tolerance. The enigmatic prince merely cackled with delight when his next victim fell backwards, unable to keep up.

Xanxus twitched when heard sobs coming from the other side of the room where Lussuria was consoling a sobbing Leviathan. The broad shouldered man cried, feeling as though he had failed his boss by allowing someone like Sawada Tsunayoshi to become the Decimo. His fingers were itching to grab his gun and start shooting at sight. The temptation was almost too much when he heard the sound of the chair scrapping the ground beside him. He opened one eye and saw long brown locks tied in a simple ponytail high up on the side of her head, lips shimmering with gloss while doe-like brown eyes stared in delight at the food on the table.

Of course, how could he forget? The latest addition to the Varia, albeit a temporary one.

“The Varia sure is lively,” she said conversationally, smiling brilliantly at him as she took a bite of a cream cake. The fork lingered in her mouth as she hummed in delight. Xanxus would have normally closed his eyes and ignored her presence, but the shimmering of her lips caught his eyes. The wretched woman only occasionally wore make-up and apparently, today was one of those worthy occasions in which she would splurge on her appearance.

The fork slipped out from between her lips and a dainty tongue slipped out to lick the cream that had managed to get on the side of her face. His opened eye unwittingly followed the movement, the feminine grace apparently with the way her slim fingers touched the corner of her mouth to make sure she had gotten everything. He almost froze at the disappointment he felt when she felt nothing for knowing the stupid woman, she would have happily slipped that finger of hers into her mouth and-.

The thought was cut off as he forced his eye to close, his expression tightening.

Miura Haru. If Sawada Tsunayoshi was considered to be trash, Miura Haru had to be something even more pathetic than that. She was weak and helpless, unable to directly defend herself against even the weakest of grunts. It was why she had been assigned bodyguards the moment she had been stationed with the Varia, her vulnerability causing her to also be a liability.

One may think that she was placed within the Varia only because of her close ties to the Decimo and his Guardians and while it was true that she had a long history with many of them, it was wrong to believe that she was useless. That woman had a brain in that ditzy head of hers, one that even garnered the compliments of the stoic and nasty Verde. It was why the Vongola supported her studies, sending her to parts of the world, knowing she would be a valuable assist to them in the future.

It did not matter to Xanxus though. One wrong move by her and he would not hesitate to put her in her place, regardless of how angry the Decimo and the Guardians would become. Fortunately, such a scenario never came to be... yet. For someone so damn bubbly and always nosing into other people’s business, she had never entangled herself with his matters unless it concerned official business.

“I think Squalo-san is drinking even more than usual,” Haru continued to remark, uncaring of his unresponsiveness. “It’s amazing how he’s able to recover so easily in the morning though. I wonder if it’ll be that case this time as well. And there’s Belphegor-san. I don’t think I’ve ever see him-.”

“Shut up.” He bit out, unable to stand her voice any longer.

There was silence and for a moment, Xanxus believed that she had heeded his command. Instead, there was a slight humming coming from her, implying how unaffected she was by his brusque attitude. Unable to contain his curiosity, his eye opened once more and he would be lying if he said he wasn’t amazed to see her pouring herself a drink from one of the many whiskey bottles lying around.

Last he checked, the legal drinking age of Japan was 20 and the blasted woman was still a year shy of that. Then again, they weren’t in Japan right now, but Italy. And the rules here were much more different.

His curiosity led him to continue his observation, the way she swirled the beverage within the whiskey glass that was filled near to the brim. It was obvious by the way she was handling it that she had never drank a drop of alcohol before in the past. As expected of a goody-two-shoes like her. Still, the fanciful smile was on her face as she toyed with the glass.

In fact, she was playing for too long. He had half a mind to knock the glass out of her hand if she was just going to play with it. And then without warning, she tilted her head back and downed the entire glass. It was enough for Xanxus to open both eyes, though his lips remained set in his usual stoic scowl.

After she was done, Haru immediately started to cough. She hit her chest with her fist, a feeble attempt to clear her throat of the nasty concoction. The sight was so pathetic and stupid that it was enough to make Xanxus smirk spitefully. His surprise returned when Haru reached out for the whiskey bottle again, refilling her glass. This time Xanxus watched openly as she poured the same amount once more and downed it all at once again.

His amusement started to fade when the process was repeated. The guzzling, the choking, the coughing, and the smacking cycle continuing even as a bright red flush graced her cheeks. It only seemed to accentuate her shiny lips and he found himself drawn to them once more, especially when she ran her tongue over them to catch the droplets of whiskey that had been about to escape. Xanxus forced himself to turn away, furious with himself for staring.

“You know,” she spoke with slurred words, “a normal man would try to stop me by now.”

Xanxus didn’t bother to grace her with a reply, opting to snort instead and close his eyes.

She giggled unabashedly. “I always knew this day would come. Tsuna-san is going to become the greatest leader in the world! Did you know that I’ve believed in him since I first met him? Hehe, okay, so maybe that’s a lie... I thought he was evil at first... but anyways, Tsuna-san is a really kind and powerful person! He was meant for great things! Haha, I guess that’s one thing that baka Gokudera-kun and I agreed on... and that’s what a great person Tsuna-san is...”

A tick was forming on Xanxus’ head. What was this stupid woman blathering about? He opened his eyes and glowered at her, ready to shut her up before she could continue with her stupid banter when he saw the tears in the corner of her eyes. What the fuck? There was still a stupid smile on her face too.

She sniffled and Xanxus felt nauseated.

The itching need to have his gun in his hand was reappearing. This woman did not just drink herself into idiocy and was now about to start crying her little bleeding heart out. No matter how hard Xanxus had tried to tune it out, he often heard the whispers of how there was a fucking love-triangle between the scum Sawada and the two fucking cheerleaders he always had around. Actually, more like a one-sided romance going on with the stupid woman here being the one trapped in unrequited love.

Gods, the ballads he had heard sung by Lussuria, the gossip mongrel.

He was not about to listen to the source of his occasionally bleeding ears bleat about her undying love for trash.

However, Miura Haru was just full of surprises today. She slammed the whiskey glass into the table, though the sound of the collision was practically unheard of due to the loud cacophony of noises made by the entire Varia. There was an unhappy scowl on her pretty little face, her normally restrained emotions spilling out due to the influence of alcohol. “That coward! I understand if he doesn’t feel the same way, but running away from me? Practically shipping me off to another country just to avoid me?”

Now this caused Xanxus’ ear to prick. Gossip he hated, but juicy information he could use to torment Sawada? Now that he could get on board with.

“Men!” Haru snarled, turning the bottle upside down in order to pour herself another glass. Unfortunately, she had finished the bottle that had been mostly full. She looked confused, staring into the bottle to see what the problem was. While doing so, she pouted a bit and bit her lower lip. Xanxus cursed in his head. She just had to turn his attention back to her lips again, didn’t she?

Haru reached out to grab another one of the random bottles on the table when Xanxus had enough, grabbing her by the wrist. He wanted her gone. No amount of information he could use to torment Sawada would be worth dealing with this woman and if she didn’t leave fast, he was going to do something they were both going to regret.

And hopefully it involved his guns.

Xanxus looked to where Squalo was, ready to bark at him to take this idiot away... only to find an equally stupid moron. Not that Xanxus was unaware of this, he had just believed that maybe, just maybe, Squalo would have it in himself to not be so fucking stupid for once when he actually needed him. But no... no, the second-in-command of the terrifying awe-inspiring Varia was now chugging away with Belphegor, both intent on defeating the other despite how they were wobbling over due to the sheer amount of alcohol they had consumed. Leviathan was now full-blown sobbing as he clung to Lussuria, who only clung back sympathetically.

Now that Xanxus thought about it, where the fuck was Mammon? Probably realized how annoying things were going to get and had ditched them the moment the party started.

“Xanxus-sama,” Haru whined, pouting at the bruising grip he had on her wrist. It didn’t hurt, really, since she was so inebriated. He flinched at the sight of those glossy limps shimmering tauntingly at him. “Let go!”

“Shut up, annoying woman.” He growled, though to his utter frustration, his fingers didn’t unwind themselves around her slender wrist.

“I am not annoying!” she yelled, now struggling furiously against him. “I worked too hard for a pompous jerk like you to call me annoying. Now let go!”

His limited patience snapped at her insults. Who the hell did she think she was to say such things to him? This was his domain! She was just a mere guest he tolerated because of the fucking trash of a Decimo!

With his lips curled into a frightful snarl, he pulled her forward, consequences be damned. If she was going to shoot her mouth without a care in the world, why should he restrain himself?

Haru was barely able to gasp at the sudden rushed movement when a rough pair of lips crushed themselves against her. Her eyes widened and she froze, unresponsive even as those lips melded themselves against her own. Xanxus, on the other hand, felt every cell in his body dance in euphoria for finally having given in. Her lips felt so soft and sleek. He grabbed the back of her head, tilting her head backward so that he could press himself closer against her.

His tongue entered into her open mouth greedily, his movements becoming more aggressive at the taste of her sweet mouth mixed with his favorite brand of whiskey she had consumed in large quantities. Sure, being a man in his late twenties and an individual of his rank, he had kissed many beauties with equally soft lips and pliable bodies. However, he blamed it on the lip gloss she wore.

She just tasted so damn good.

Haru’s eyes were shut closed as her trapped hand tightened into a fist, the fingers of her other hand clenched around the soft material of his shirt. She could feel his tongue inside her mouth, an unfamiliar sensation that made the alcohol induced warmth in her body to deepen. It felt so good and she unwittingly parted her lips further, though her tongue remained hesitant and unsure of how to respond.

Her willingness in this was all the persuasion he needed for suddenly, Haru was pulled even closer until she was straddling his lap. Xanxus ravished her mouth heatedly, determined to trace every crevice of her delectable mouth until she was dizzy with his taste. Her eyes were glazed as he tugged at her hair, the elastic band slipping off as he roughly pulled, forcing her to tilt her head back so that he could indulge in her vulnerable neck.

“Oh my gosh, Haru-chan!” an all to annoyingly-familiar voice shrieked and the haze Haru had been trapped in dissipated, leaving her all too aware of the fact that she was currently in a very provocative position with the leader of Vongola’s elite assassination squad. She froze, the effects of the alcohol fading enough for her to regain her senses. Xanxus, on the other hand, was in no mood to stop. Who the fuck cared about his pathetic men?

Haru frantically tugged at Xanxus’ sleeve, desperate to get him to pull his mouth away from her neck. It didn’t help that what he was doing actually felt really good, enough to make her want to lean in and pull him closer instead. “X-Xanxus-sama!” she hissed.

“Again. Say my name again,” his growl vibrated across her skin, causing her to shudder. There was no way he didn’t feel that with how closely pressed she was against him and to her mortification, she felt his smug smirk.

“Oh no, Haru-chan!” Lussuria wailed with his hands placed on the sides of his face. “I always knew something like this would happen. I mean, after all, you’re surrounded by such delicious men and you’re such a scrumptious little thing yourself, but with the boss?”

“BOSS!” Levi wailed with his arms thrown into the air.

“Lussuria-chan! Levi-san!” Haru squeaked, squirming in her place on Xanxus’ lap. “Th-This isn’t what it looks like!”

“Then what exactly is this?” this time it was Xanxus who spoke, his words searing marks on her. She glared down at him, but was taken by the intensity of his eyes. The words she was about to spit at him were swallowed. Still, she glowered at him. As if she was going to back down now!

“You tell me.” She snarled, all too aware of how the hand behind her head had now settled on her waist. At least give her the decency to get off of him and smooth out her clothes! Did he understand how hard it had been to get the men here to stop staring at her like a piece of meat? All her hard-work from the past year had probably been destroyed now!

“Easy,” Xanxus sneered back. “You’re my woman now.”

One could hear the drop of a pin before the loudest indignant female shriek in the history of Varia echoed through its halls.

Teach Me Love - Chapter 20

Summary: "Show me this so-called greatness of the power of love," Hibari ordered. "Fall in love with me." Haru could only stupidly gawk at him. Just what the heck did she get herself involved in? HaruxMultiple Pairings

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC! XD

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise.  I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Chapter Twenty: Revenge

HappyFace1886

“Is this Sawada Tsunayoshi?”

Tsuna’s stomach dropped when he heard Haru’s father’s voice on the other end of the phone line. “Y-Yes, it is! H-Hello Miura-san.”

“Where is my daughter, Sawada?!”

“Eh?” he yelped out in surprise, his eyes bulging out in surprise.

“Don’t play games with me boy! I know you’re friendly with her!” the man yelled, causing Tsuna to pull the phone away from his ears. Keeping it a foot away was enough for him to hear everything clearly. “Give me that Hibari boy’s number! If you don’t know where she is, then he should know!”

“Wait, wait!” Tsuna said in a panic, pulling the phone against his ear before shoving it away quickly when Miura-san’s rant became loud again. “Please Miura-san! What happened with Haru?”

“She never arrived home last night!” the man snapped, the irritation and exhaustion in his voice making it clear that he had been up all night wondering about his daughter. “And she’s not answering her phone either. I demand a clear answer now, boy, or else I’m-!”

“Ah! C-Calm down, Miura-san! I-ow!” Tsuna yelped when he felt something smack into the back of his head. Leaning forward due to the weight, he glanced up and could barely make out Reborn’s outline on top of him. “Reborn?”

The phone, which Tsuna had tossed up after being hit, was neatly caught by Bianchi. She placed it against her ear and casually leaned against the wall. “Miura-san? Hello, I’m Bianchi, a friend of Haru-chan.”

The man on the other line seemed to calm down, recognizing the name. The two began to pleasantly chat and Tsuna watched in amazement at how Bianchi was able to turn the situation around so easily. Either Bianchi was really experienced talking to panicked people or it was because Miura-san didn’t feel threatened that Bianchi would take his daughter away from him.

“Reborn, what’s going on?” Tsuna hissed, crouching down so that he was face-to-face with him. “Why’s Miura-san looking for Haru-chan?”

“Isn’t it obvious, dame-Tsuna?” Reborn said, sounding slightly exasperated by the question. “Haru-chan is gone.”

“What? How?” Tsuna demanded before pausing as he recalled the events of the past few days. He paled drastically. “D-Don’t tell me that it’s the guys from the amusement park?”

The phone was returned to its place and Tsuna turned his head, seeing Bianchi with a grim frown on her face. “I’ve told Miura-san that Haru-chan is with Kyoko-chan and I’ve already told Kyoko-chan to cover for us in case Miura-san really does call her.”

“Wait, someone explain to me what happened!”

“We were going to tell you about it as soon as we gathered more information, but those bastards are bolder than we thought.” Bianchi remarked, crossing her arms. “You were partially right about the people who attacked you, Gokudera-kun, and Haru-chan. They are affiliated with the mafia, but they aren’t part of any formal organization. If anything, you can say that they’re more along the lines of a mercenary group than mafia since they’re willing to work for whoever hires them.”

“Still,” Reborn said, with a slight smile on his face that was hidden under his tipped fedora hat, “they are still mafia. And those of the mafia will likely follow the laws of the mafia.”

“We have to tell Gokudera-kun and Yamamot-kun about this!” Tsuna rushed to the phone in order to tell the others.

“There’s one more thing, Tsuna.” Reborn spoke and Tsuna paused in the midst of his frantic dialing. “It’s about the man who kidnapped Haru-chan because of Hibari.”

“What about him?” Tsuna asked, feeling a strong pit forming in his stomach.

“Hideo is most likely the one behind the kidnapping and according to some informants of mine, he’s escaped from prison.”

There was a pounding in Haru’s head as she felt her consciousness returning. A sense of déjà vu reached and she felt a panic run through her. Oh god, not again. The dread was enough motivation for her to remain on the cold hard floor, her eyes kept tightly clenched as she tried her best to wake up from this nightmare. A good twenty seconds passed before she gave up, her eyes slowly fluttering open before she slowly sat up.

The last thing she remembered was griping about Hibari being a jerk when she smelled something noxious and blacked out. No doubt someone had snuck into her room and knocked her out. And judging by the taste in her mouth, she had been unconscious for several hours.

“Finally awake?” she stiffened at the familiar voice and slowly turned her head, her eyes narrowing at the sight of the man who had haunted her dreams.

“You!”

Hideo laughed. “Me.”

“What do you want with Haru? Haven’t you caused enough damage last time?” she demanded.

“Ah, but I haven’t had my revenge just yet.” Hideo said with a chuckle. “The so called ‘damages’ I’ve done is nothing compare to what I plan to do next.”

Haru felt the shiver go down her spine and she eyed him warily, her hands clenched into fists in case he tried anything. “What are you planning?”

Hideo was quiet before he let loose a low chuckle, one that erupted into a booming laughter that struck Haru with fear. “Man oh man, I really have to thank you here, girl. I never would have imagined that my plan would have gone as deliciously well as it has so far. And it’s all thanks to you.”

“What are you talking about?” she demanded.

“My vendetta is against the Prefect,” Hideo spat out venomously. “I want to hurt him, grind him into tiny little pieces for being the cocky piece of shit that he is. A child like him running around with his little toys, messing and destroying with something he doesn’t need to stick his fucking nose in, all because he wants to ‘bite things dead’. I will destroy him, I will break him!”

The tone of his voice held an obsessive quality and Haru was grateful as to how he remained seated against the wall, remaining far away from her. She wasn’t sure how she’d react if he was closer to her while performing such a rant.

So her initial assumption had been right.

This was a mad man in front of her.

“For years I wondered how I’d end him. A child of that ferocity and bloodthirst wouldn’t be so easy to hurt. Destroying that fucking junior high wouldn’t be enough.” Hideo continued, biting his thumb as he spoke while a foot tapped insistently against the ground. “A building can be rebuilt. No, that wasn’t good enough. I needed to hurt that brat where it hurts, but he had no weaknesses, no one he cared enough to actually affected him if something were to happen to them... until you came strolling along.”

Haru flinched when he turned his attention back to her. “What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about you being that Prefect’s little lover bitch.” The man sneered and Haru’s face flushed at his vulgar words. “I really must thank you. That look on his face was so delicious when he realized that the school was burning all thanks to you.”

“That was not Haru’s fault,” she snapped. “It was all because of-.”

“But if you hadn’t been such a wonderful distraction, the school would have never been attacked like that.” Hideo disproved easily. “All of the fucking Prefect’s attention would have been on the school, as always. But no, he’s been constantly distracted. He still continued his fucking patrols and beating the shit of others, but even in the midst of all that, he would still be watching you. How else did he find you when you were getting that fucking balloon for that kid?”

Haru’s jaw dropped slightly. “Y-You saw that?”

“Then there were your little dates.” Hideo snickered when he saw Haru’s face flush. “Could the poor Prefect get any more pathetic? He’s lost so much of himself after getting himself involved with you.”

“Hahi? That’s not true!”

“Oh, isn’t it?” Hideo continued, enjoying the conflict in her eyes. “He changed his patrol routes because of that time you got sick and even willingly held your hand after one of your pitiable dates. He slowly started to become fond of you and before he could even realize it, he’s fallen in love with you.”

Haru almost choked on her non-existent spit, her eyes bugged out as she stared at Hideo in wonderment. What did he just say right now?

“What makes this even better is that the stupid Prefect doesn’t even seem to realize his true feelings for you,” Hideo spat. “But that’s just perfect for me. This just gives me the opportunity to take advantage of that and finally get my revenge. I’ll lend him a hand. I’ll help him open his eyes so that he’ll realize just how important you are to him... and once he does, I’ll crush him. I’ll destroy his spirit completely. And so, little one,” he gave Haru a chilling smile, “I must really thank you. Without you, my revenge would have been impossible to complete.”

“Argh, I knew this was somehow going to involve that bastard again!” Gokudera growled angrily as he and the others sat around Tsuna’s kitchen table. He would’ve lit a cigarette as well, but knew Decimo’s mother didn’t like it when people smoked inside the house. Instead he began to tap his fingers obsessively on top of the table.

“So where do we go from here?” Yamamoto’s voice was soft, a grim frown on his face.

“We have to find Haru-chan,” Tsuna began and hesitated. “I... I think we should call Hibari-san about this. He knows Hideo better than all of us so he should have a higher chance of finding Hideo... and hopefully Haru-chan’s well.”

“It’s that bastards fault from the beginning anyways.” Gokudera griped. “If it wasn’t for him, that stupid woman wouldn’t have been kidnapped twice! Why the hell is that crazy bastard kidnapping that woman for anyways if he’s targeting the stupid Prefect?”

Yamamoto casually leaned back on his seat, an unreadable smile on his face. “It’s because Hibari cares for Haru-chan as well.”

There was a pause of silence before a yelp from Gokudera and Tsuna. “What?”

Reborn sighed. “You’re hopeless, Tsuna.”

“Am not!” Tsuna yelled. “I-I mean, I knew something was going on, but to that level? This is Hibari-san we’re talking about!”

“Exactly! What exactly happened that he’d actually care about her? God, I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about him care about her.” Gokudera began to run his hands up and down his arms frantically. “Oh man, but that explains why he was acting so weird while Haru was training with us.”

“As amusing as it is to see you two have a meltdown over this revelation, Haru-chan is in trouble.” Bianchi reminded.

“Well I’m not going to be the one to tell the freaking Prefect if he actually does care about her. If he goes crazy when Namimori Junior High gets damaged, who knows how he’d react if he finds out that Haru was kidnapped for the second time!” Gokudera proclaimed.

After Hideo left, Haru was left alone in the storage room. Just as before, she was surrounded in darkness and empty boxes. Her mind was blank other than the words he had imparted her with.

Hibari cared about her?

He... he actually loved her?

She found that fact hard to grasp, a hand reaching up to touch her head. She felt the heat radiating from her face and realized how hard she was blushing.

No way! No way, he didn’t think about her like that! He stole kisses and was possessive, but that didn’t mean he loved her! Hibari Kyoya was different from normal boys. He didn’t understand what it was like to actually love someone.

But... that was exactly what Hideo had said as well. That Hibari was oblivious to the truth.

Her throat tightened as she remembered how Hideo proclaimed that he would use Hibari’s feelings against him. That was just too cruel. One’s feelings were precious, especially if it was in regards to love. To use that against someone, as though it was some sort of weapon...

Haru clenched her eyes shut. She couldn’t allow that to happen. Hibari had been hurt enough the last time he met Hideo. She refused to allow him to meet that jerk again!

With that in mind, Haru stood up and walked towards the door. Hideo probably thought she was an idiot and wouldn’t dare to dream that the door was unlocked again. After all, what fool would try the same thing twice? And based on that assumption, they would actually do the same trick again. But she could tell what sort of person Hideo was and what type of tricks he would use.

He was the cocky type and as he had said explicitly before, he wanted to destroy a person’s spirit. She wouldn’t be surprised if he was trying to use his old plan again, to have her appear at the grand stage when everything was too late.

Her hand grasped the lock and slowly turned it, a small smile creeping over her face when she realized it was indeed unlocked. However, she didn’t open it. Faintly, she could hear Reborn-chan and Gokudera-kun’s voices in her head. While she did ask Gokudera-kun for help on how to get stronger, he had mostly taught her about strategies since his way of fighting would be too dangerous for her to try and emulate. Not to mention, she refused to smoke no matter what. Occasionally Reborn-chan would make an input of his own.

Carefully observe your surroundings. Find tools that would be of use for you. Never act rashly. You must always be in control, both of your surroundings and of yourself.

Trying to find a weapon in this place was pointless. Though there were storage boxes in here, everything was mostly filled with random junk that wouldn’t be useful to use as a weapon. All together they had some weight, but carrying and then throwing boxes at people didn’t seem smart. Also, trying to force her way through, especially when she didn’t even know how many enemies were out there, would be stupid. She’d probably just get knocked out again and maybe in placed in a locked room this time.

Haru bit her lip before crouching down, looking underneath the door to see the feet roaming around.

Three people...

Could she handle three people alone by herself? She had trained with Tsuna-san, Yamamoto-san, and Gokudera-san, but she had never attempted to fight or defend herself when she was alone, let alone against three people.

Haru tightly clenched her hands into fists.

She didn’t have a choice here.

A loud feminine scream of pain filled the hallway and one of the thugs lifted his head. “What was that?”

“Probably the bitch boss brought in. She must’ve hurt herself while trying to walk around in that room.” Another remarked, tossing down the cards he was playing with another muscle-head. “Haha, bitch, got you.”

“Fuck you!”

There was a whimper of pain this time.

“...you don’t think she really hurt herself, do you?”

“Nah, she probably tripped over something and is whimpering over a small bruise. You know how chicks are like, crying over everything.”

“Yeah, but what if she’s really hurt? The boss isn’t going to be happy if she doesn’t escape out again like last time.”

“Aw man, can’t you see that I’m on a role here.”

“Shut up and just come with me.”

The first thug opened the door, light flitting into the darkness. Finding no one in the middle of the room, he frowned and entered in, followed by the other two. It was then he noticed the tower of boxes onto the side. Haru, who was on the other side of it, leaned against the wall and pushed with her feet against the boxes, causing the boxes to fall to the side.

“Oh sh-!” the words were covered in yells and crashes as the boxes fell.

One of the men was knocked out, buried under the boxes, but there were still two more to go. Haru rushed towards them. The element of surprise was still with her. It didn’t matter if she needed to fight dirty. She had to get out of here!

She kicked the closest man between the legs, the force of it causing the man to pale drastically before he let out a high pitched scream, falling forward with his hands clutching the tender organ. From the corner of her eye, she saw the last remaining thug throwing a punch at her. Haru side-stepped him, though his fist still skimmed the side of her face. Bearing the pain, Haru threw herself into the man, using her entire weight to shove him into the wall. All her exercises with Tsuna-san were paying off since not only was she stronger, she was a little faster.

There was a groan of pain as she had shoved him headfirst into the wall. Haru pushed against the man and stood up, breathing hard as she looked around wildly to make sure there was no one else about to attack her. Finding none, she rushed out of the door, locking it behind her.

Her cheek burned with pain and her blood was pumping quickly throughout her body, but she had done it. By herself, she had managed to find a way out!

The triumph was short-lived as she set her priorities straight. She had to get out of here before anyone else discovered that she was out. Haru looked around and smiled when she found a long metal pole in the corner of her room.

It looked heavy, but it would be the perfect sword for her.

Hideo smiled as he sat on the black bench within one of the many parks of Namimori. A tall tree was right behind the bench, often providing shade for those who strolled into the park during the day. Oh how many memories he had of his place. The scar on his face ached and a vicious smile appeared on his face. Yes, a great deal of memories indeed.

“I’ll get you, you fucking brat!” Hideo howled with the blood covering his face, one hand touching the wound while the other leaned against black bench in front of a large tree. It was hard just trying to stand, several broken bones and bruised muscles draining him of his strength. “Just watch me! I’ll get my revenge!”

“Ah,” Hideo purred softly to himself. “I’m almost there. After all these years...”

His revenge was soon going to be complete.
