Summary: Series of oneshot that show what should
have been shown during the little moments, the dates, and the lessons between
Hibari and Haru in the fanfic, Teach Me Love.
My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things
untrue or some characters OOC and I guess I'll explain some stuff at the end of
the chapter, just so I won't spoil things! XD
I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I
did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!
Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise
and grammatically wise. lol, i still don't understand the beta system thing and
I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.
AN: Yes, it's been a long time. I'm sorry for this short oneshot.
I'm going through some issues right now, but I felt bad about the lack of
update and decided that a short update was better than no update. I'm hoping to
resolve things soon and hopefully be able to give you guys a consistent update
after that. >.<
Sick
HappyFace1886
Haru coughed into her face mask, wincing at how
her raw throat pained her. For the past four days, she had been sick with a
cold, but Haru, being the dedicated student that she was, firmly decided that
she was still going to attend school. Besides, it was only a minor cold. She
could handle going to school with one!
She walked down the empty street, feeling as
though each step was anchored down by weights. Just a few more blocks and she
would be home. She could do this! Just a few more steps...
Just a few more....
Haru stopped and leaned against the fence of the
house beside her. Okay, so maybe this was a bit harder than she thought it
would be. But really, it was a minor cold... er... right? Haru sighed and
wanted to slump down against the fence, but knew that staying out in the cold
air would only make her cold worse.
She stared dejectedly at the road. The pathway
home suddenly seemed so long.
“Weak.” A voice echoed as a shadow descended
upon her. Haru scowled behind the mask, already knowing who the person was. She
looked up and glared at him.
“Haru is not weak!” she snapped, only to begin
coughing when her yell irritated her throat. She resumed speaking in a soft,
but fierce whisper. “She’s just sick.”
“Only those who are weak succumb to such
frivolous illnesses.”
Haru began to internally seethe, watching how
the all too familiar round-headed jerk approached her, only to walk past her.
Argh, she was not in the mood for this. It was true that she had promised to
teach him about the power of love, but goodness, did it mean that she had to
forsake her sanity at the same time?
“You jerk,” she yelled, once again forgetting
about how pained her throat was only to pay the consequences with a sharp
burning pain. Biting back a whimper, Haru clutched her neck and began to hiss
at him. “You’re Haru’s b-boyfriend so that m-means you should care more about
my well-being.”
“I see no point in how catering to your needs
will get me stronger,” Hibari retorted calmly.
Haru forced herself to breathe so that her
patience would not snap and cause her to try to strangle him. Fat chance of her
succeeding, but at least trying would make her feel better. “That’s because you
don’t l-l-l-love me.”
Hibari remained silent, pausing in his steps
while he tilted his head to look at her.
If not for how long they’ve been spending time
with each other lately, Haru would have become irritated by his nonverbal
command to explain. Instead, she walked up to him, speaking in a husky, hushed
tone. “Tsuna-san is strong because he cares for Kyoko-chan. He wants to protect
her from evil beings who want to hurt Kyoko-chan. He would do everything in his
power to make sure she’s safe because he l-loves her,” Haru’s heart throbbed at
those words, but she continued speaking. “You, on the other hand, don’t care
about Haru in the same level. If Haru were to get hurt, you wouldn’t feel
anger. In fact, Haru believes you’ll be more irritated that Haru is so weak.”
“And you are correct to assume so.” Hibari
replied, smirking when Haru began to openly fume at him. But his smirk faded
slightly when her words resounded in his mind.
So he wouldn’t feel anger, eh?
Haru sighed. “If Kyoko-chan was the one to get
sick, I’m sure Tsuna-san would be very worried because he cares for Kyoko-chan
a lot. She means a lot to him and seeing her in pain would hurt him as well.”
“Enough,” Hibari said, turning around to walk
away. “I don’t have time to listen to you incessantly praise such a weak
herbivore.”
“Tsuna-san is not weak,” Haru yelled again,
caught up in her anger, only to whimper out loud this time at how pained her
throat was. When she got home, she was going to have a delicious cup of hot
green tea.
After the throbbing ache began to fade, Haru looked
up at Hibari, who was only a few feet away from her. He was walking slowly; in
a manner that one would believe that he was being extra cautious and vigilant
of his surroundings. But that couldn’t be it, since there was no one in the
neighborhood that could match him.
Contrary to what Hibari may believe, Haru knew
the truth. In any other situation, the romantic in Haru might have swooned at
the truth, but since this was Hibari she was talking about, it was more along
the lines of amusement and maybe... just maybe... a little giddiness...
She may claim out loud that Hibari may not care
for her in a deeper sense and in a way, maybe it was still true...
....but he had to feel something for her, at
least even a little bit.
After all, why else were his patrol routes of
the past four days suddenly coinciding with her pathway home?
::tsuzuku::
Sorry to hear you're having issues at home... I hope all will be well soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better!
Thanks for posting this oneshot, lol at Hibari using patrolling to check on Haru! It was lovely
Wow. Hibari-san is truly the gent (in a kind of way) eh? Hehehe. Man, you do love 1886 the best, huh? I was wondering if you also like 0086 (enmaxHaru), too.... but err... man, I just said that so randomly!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, so far, even if its short, it is kind of sweet. The chapter shows that Hibari might have the potential to be a "boyfriend" material. It doesn't matter if his way is kinda... unusual but as long as he takes care of the welfare of his girlfriend (err... sensei) and I bet that he did listen to Haru's teachings to the heart. I can tell. =)
Anyway, love the chapter! It made my day. Short, yes. but it was really sweet!
I love it!
