Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Genesis - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - Chapter 15

Summary: There was a reason why Reborn got Haru involved with the Mafia. Even if she was useless to them in fights and even if she couldn't provide as much emotional strength as Kyoko, she was vital and without her, there would just be no Vongola. G86/GiottoHaru

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC!

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically-wise. I don't have time to re-read or edit things.

Genesis: Chapter 15

HappyFace1886

“Rock, paper, scissors!” the words came out in the combination of Haru and Giotto’s voices. Both raised their hands up to reveal their choices and there was a cheer of delight as Haru jumped happily.

“I win!” she said before taking three steps forward. However, though she had been victorious this round, Giotto was further ahead of her. Much to her annoyance, he was very good at this game. At the beginning, he had been winning so much that Haru feared that they would be separated. Soon she began to win occasionally and a sinking feeling told her that it was only because Giotto was letting her.

Today had been an ordinary day and it was days like this that the two relished. No messy and complicated feelings that came when talking about the past. No worries as to whether there would be abandonment in the future. No fear or anger over what could happen.

And much to Giotto’s delight, Haru seemed to even reciprocate his touches these days. Of course, it was nowhere near the level of what he did, but she did occasionally give him a shy hug or run her fingers through his hair gently whenever he leaned on her. Now that was something he really enjoyed, being lulled to sleep with her comforting presence surrounding him.

Because of that, he really enjoyed whenever they slept with each other. One time, he had awakened to Haru hugging him close to her chest, her face buried into his hair while the fingers of one of her hands threaded through his wild blonde locks.

It had left his heart beating fast, a content smile on his face while he held her back.

“Again,” Haru said while raising her hand up. “I’ll catch up to you soon enough, Giotto-sama!”

He grinned. “We’ll see about that.”

“Hahi, I will!” she yelled.

Giotto laughed and their game resumed until they came to their destination. It was the river where Giotto came to get the water for their baths. Haru had become stronger over the past few weeks and was now better at carrying water. Still, she couldn’t compare to Giotto’s strength and speed. At least she was able to contribute more than one bucket of water.

“I win,” Giotto teased, pointing his ‘scissor’ at her, snipping them towards her.

Haru glowered at her ‘paper’ hand and pouted. Giotto won way too much in their games in her opinion. The only time she had won had been because he had been careless. Still, she thought with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, at least she had won when they had been making a wager. She still hadn’t thought of what to make him do.

She was brought out of her thoughts when she released a loud sneeze. Her face flushed and a horrible thought went through her head. Getting sick was a very bad idea, especially since she was in the past. She didn’t know how good the medicine was at this time and she didn’t want to burden Attilio-san anymore than he already was, getting an extra mouth to feed and take care of...

Haru jumped when she felt something warm being wrapped around her neck and realized that Giotto was putting a scarf around her neck. She immediately began to protest. “This is Giotto-sama’s scarf!”

“But Haru’s cold,” he replied.

“No, you’ll get sick.” She said, grabbing his wrists.

“But then Haru will get cold.” Giotto said stubbornly.

The two were at a standstill, both unwilling to yield. Haru then tugged at Giotto to get closer, grabbing the two ends of the scarf he had been holding. He looked as though he was going to resist in fear that she was going to remove the scarf from her neck and put it back on him, but stilled when that didn’t seem to be the case. In fact, it looked like she was wrapping the thick long scarf around both their necks.

By the time she was done, the two were pressed very close to each other with Haru’s cheeks nearly pressed against Giotto’s.

“There,” she said contently. “Compromise.”

“Compromise?” he asked, unfamiliar with the new foreign term.

“Yes,” as the two, walking in sync with each other, sat down on a nearby rock. “It means... erm... finding middle ground? Giotto-sama wanted something, but I wanted something as well. Since we both couldn’t get what we wanted, we both had to give up something to gain something.”

There was a moment of silence before Giotto nodded. Haru squeaked when his hand held her by the waist, pulling her towards him until she was on top of his lap. Before she could even question what he was doing, he wrapped his arm around her in order to further shield her from the cold.

“This is warmer,” he explained.

Haru’s heart quickened, but she rushed to prevent it from going out of control. She had come to terms that she was nothing more than a source of comfort for Giotto-sama. And besides, he was probably just doing this to take care of her.

It meant nothing more than what it looked like.

Meanwhile, Giotto had his forehead pressed against her hair. Haru sat rigidly as she felt his breath brushing against her nape and shivered at the sensation of it.

“Is Haru happy here?” he asked.

Grateful for the distraction, Haru replied cheerfully. “Yes, I’m very happy here.”

“Happy with me?”

Confusion fleeted through her face. “Are you okay Giotto-sama?”

“I’m fine.”

She held onto the hands that held her waist. Did he need more reassurance? Was he still worried about the coming winter? With a smile, Haru relaxed her body and leaned against Giotto’s chest. “Giotto-sama is very kind, always watching out for me. Whenever I’m with Giotto-sama, I feel very safe and happy.”

Safe and happy...

His hooded eyes slowly closed and he hummed a reply of approval at her words.

Safe and happy...

That was good.

He would do anything to keep those sentiments that way.

With the scarves still wound around their necks, the two made their way back to the cabin. Their hands were held safely with each other. From a distance, it was hard to discern what they were talking, but whatever Haru was talking about had all of Giotto’s attention.

Then again, if one had been frequently watching them together, they would know that no matter what Haru said, she always had Giotto raptly listening and hanging onto her every word.

Attilio scowled at his knowledge over this, but didn’t let his personal feelings get in the way of his duties. He sat on his chair, waiting for the door opened and once it did, he knew the intuitive blonde haired boy immediately knew something was amiss.

Two-toned eyes narrowed at the sight of Attilio so early back from the town. For the past few days, something in Giotto’s gut had been telling him that something was going to happen. And judging by the look of things, that something was now.

Haru noticed the tension between the two and looked confused, especially when Giotto tightened his grip on her hand.

“Giotto-sama?” she inquired softly.

“Haru,” Attilio spoke instead, capturing her attention.

“Y-Yes, Attilio-san?” she replied nervously.

“Tomorrow you will go to town with me.”

  4. Nooo! Attilio don't do it! You can't tear them apart. That's too cruel! Stupid village and their pressuring...
Though I doubt that Giotto is really going to sit back and let Haru be taken from him... '0'
