Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Genesis - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - Chapter 11

Summary: There was a reason why Reborn got Haru involved with the Mafia. Even if she was useless to them in fights and even if she couldn't provide as much emotional strength as Kyoko, she was vital and without her, there would just be no Vongola. G86/GiottoHaru

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC!

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically-wise. I don't have time to re-read or edit things.

Genesis: Chapter 11

HappyFace1886

Despite the warm blanket and the sunlight that filtered into the room, Haru woke up feeling cold. With a tired yawn, she sat up and looked around. It was empty as expected since Attilio-san was out again. However, she frowned when she realized what the problem was.

Where was Giotto-sama?

Turmoil clouded her eyes and Haru wanted to bury herself under the blankets. Actually, with nothing stopping her, she did so and groaned under the pillows. What was going to happen now? How was Giotto-sama going to act around her? Was he angry at her? There wasn’t even the customary morning struggle for freedom as he would normally cling to her like an octopus.

She didn’t regret staying true to her belief though. That was one thing Haru would never change without reason. Still, Haru winced under the pillow. Maybe she could have handled it in a more mature manner.

With a sigh, Haru slipped out of the blanket, her hands grasping her arm as she tried to warm herself. Was it normally this cold? Sure, when she finally gained freedom from Giotto’s hold, there would be a slight chill, but she would still be fairly warm enough for until she got dressed.

Her eyes then strayed to the light coming from the windows. Despite how Giotto liked to snuggle against her, that didn’t mean he slept in. Oftentimes, he would wake up early and she had grown accustomed to waking with him. Originally, it was because she was too tense being so close to him to be able to sleep properly that she woke up so easily, but now her body had become accustomed to waking up in the early mornings.

It didn’t look like the day had started too much, but it was definitely far from being early.

She sighed softly and then walked over to the table where there was a plate of fresh fruit laid out to be eaten. Haru grabbed an apple and solemnly bit into it. Now what? She couldn’t go out because she didn’t want to miss Giotto’s return. Besides, knowing how accident prone she was, she’d probably end up getting lost, even if she did memorize some of the paths Giotto had taken her on.

This time Haru sighed deeply, dropping her head until she hit her forehead on the table.

She missed Tsuna and the others. Heck, she even missed the fights she had with Gokudera. It wasn’t like the two hated each other. Arguing was normal for them, even comforting. She missed Yamamoto and his calming smile. He always had the right words to say to make her feel better. And then there was Bianchi-san who was easily the wisest person Haru had ever met.

Yes, her trip to the future hadn’t been the greatest due to the dangers surrounding her, but it hadn’t been unbearable. She had her friends to take comfort in. And now she was starting to understand just how much she had taken their presence for granted. Danger wasn’t as frightening and painful as being alone.

It almost made Haru cry as she realized just how true those thoughts were. More surprising was how long it had taken her to realize these feelings. It had been weeks since her arrival into the distant past and it wasn’t until now did she comprehend just how far away she was from her true home. Just when she felt as though she was going to start bawling, the door opened and she looked at it startled, flecks of tears flying into the air.

Standing in the door was Giotto, his eyes wide open and his hands clasping a bundle of wildflowers.

The tears were noticed and the flowers were almost discarded as he hastily approached her. “Haru!”

“G-Giotto-sama,” Haru said in a startled voice, wiping the tears away hurriedly.

“What’s wrong?” he inquired, placing a hand on her shoulder. As usual, he lacked personal boundaries and instead pressed closer, as though by gazing into her eyes, he would be able to find the cause of her sorrow. Funnily enough, the action made Haru feel better.

It was the new normal, the new rhythm of her life.

“Nothing’s wrong,” she rushed the words out and tried to change the subject, looking at the flowers now forgotten in his hands. “What are the flowers for?”

Though looking reluctant to break away from the subject, Giotto still pulled up the flowers between them. They were of various colors and Giotto was now sporting a reserved expression on his face as he tried to make himself look small. “I-I didn’t want to wake up Haru because... because...” the rest of the sentence trailed off and he tightened his grip on the stems of the flower. “I’m sorry I took so long to return. I thought I would have been able to return before you woke up.”

Haru scrunched up her face in displeasure. “I was worried.”

If anything, Giotto’s shoulders seemed to hunch down more. “Sorry.”

“I’m not angry,” she replied honestly, wanting him to stop hiding like that. “I... it doesn’t matter how early it is. Just don’t leave me behind next time.”

Giotto nodded guiltily before pushing the flowers closer to her. “These are for Haru.”

She blinked owlishly. “Me?”

“Yes,” he said with another nod, unable to meet her gaze. The action caught her attention and it was then Haru realized what this was all about.

He was just as nervous as her because of what happened yesterday! The flowers were a peace offering in hopes that things would go back to normal or maybe even an attempt to gain forgiveness.

Haru’s eyes softened and she pulled just one of the flowers out. It was an orange wildflower that had different shades of its color, resembling much like Giotto’s eyes. She placed it on her head and gave Giotto a playful smile. “Neh, neh, does it look pretty on me?”

His face perked up and he gave her a brilliant smile. “Haru looks beautiful.”

She ducked her head shyly before accepting the rest of the flowers.

In the end, there had never been anything that needed forgiveness between them.

MY OTP HEART SOBS FOR THIS PERFECTION *A*
Hmm but some of Haru's characteristics are gone...she's the spontaneous kind who talks a lot. In this story she's much softer and quieter...you should consider bringing those characteristics back ^^
    Good job overall though! :)

    1. Nah, your english is awesome! 8D and yes, I update every Sunday. The latest update, unfortunately, was a day late, but I blame that on tests and a job that took away my time Saturday and Sunday.
