Summary: There was a reason why Reborn got Haru involved with the Mafia.
Even if she was useless to them in fights and even if she couldn't provide as
much emotional strength as Kyoko, she was vital and without her, there would
just be no Vongola. G86/GiottoHaru
My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC and I guess I'll explain some stuff at the end of the chapter, just so I won't spoil things! XD
I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!
Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. lol, i still don't understand the beta system thing and I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Genesis: Chapter 04
HappyFace1886
Sunlight flitted in through the cracked window,
irritating Haru’s eyes and slowly waking
her from her slumber. Her eyes fluttered
open and she stared, dazed as sleep still clung to her. She remained immobile
while staring at the wooden ceiling dumbly when she vaguely felt an arm around
her. It made her eyes widen and her entire frame stiffened, especially since whoever
was beside her only pulled her closer to them. She felt a slight weight on top
of her head and glanced upward, seeing what looked like someone’s throat.
Torn between shrieking and just fainting from
embarrassment, she remained motionless for who knows how long.
“G-G-Giotto-sama,” she stammered before her
voice became more insistent. “Giotto-sama.... Giotto-sama!”
There was a grunt and her eyes swiveled upward
towards the source. Attilio was watching them in his black clerical clothes,
his blonde hair tied in a neat pony tail. There was a blasé gleam in his eyes
as he stared with his arms crossed over his chest.
“Help?” she asked weakly, feeling unnerved by
his intense stare. For a man who looked quite delicate, he sure held a
foreboding presence.
“Can’t,” he said before walking away.
“Wait!” Haru yelled. Despite how loud she had
shouted, Giotto hadn’t budged at all. In fact, the only thing he did was hold
her tighter and snuggle against her. The book she had read had been so totally
off. He wasn’t sensitive about physical contact at all! “Attilio-san...”
“Heavy sleeper during morning,” Attilio said with a shrug while
reaching for his bag. Since they had only one bed here, he had told Giotto and
Haru to share it. Though she had sputtered out in mortification and tried to
somehow sleep on the floor, Giotto had feigned ignorance to the fact that they
couldn’t communicate and the two had ended up sleeping on the same bed. “Go to
town. Work.”
Nothing made sense to her! Sure the book
Reborn-chan had given her had left out a lot of things, but Giotto being all
clingy and this Attilio man? Surely if Attilio, who seemed important to Giotto,
had existed during a significant phase in Giotto’s life, it should have been
mentioned before by someone from Vongola. And Giotto being an orphan?
Never talked of, but very possible...
There was a shut of the door and she knew
Attilio was now gone. With a small mewling sound from the back of her throat in
frustration, Haru began to push against Giotto only to have his hold tighten
around her. He made a sound of irritation and she stilled.
Hahi, what was one supposed to do in this
situation? T-T-This was Tsuna-san’s ancestors for goodness sake! Of course it
didn’t matter if he was hugging her or whatever! He was going to get married to
someone else and have lots of kids who will eventually be Tsuna-san! She had no
time to be flustered like this. She had to figure out why Reborn-chan had sent
her to the past.
“Giotto-sama!” Haru yelled loudly, pushing hard
against Giotto. At arm’s length, she saw him open his eyes slightly, peering at
her with his two-toned eyes before smiling dreamily. She gulped, her arms
shaking with how strong he was. In the end, her face smacked against his chest
as she fell against him. “Hahi!”
...now what?!
Two hours... It had taken two hours for Giotto
to wake up... she had fallen asleep after the first hour, but had woken up to
the feel of someone’s stare. Her brown eyes widened and she shrieked in
surprise, shoving him away. This time, his hold on her hadn’t been tight enough
and he tumbled off the bed. At the loud hard thud of body hitting ground, Haru
gasped and crawled to the edge of the bed, jumping off.
“Giotto-sama!” she waved her arms frantically
while he rubbed his sore head, an amused smile on his face. She helped him sit
up, running her hands through his head to see if there was any damage. “Are you
alright? Does it hurt anywhere?”
“Haru,” he said softly. She glanced down and
realized just what she was doing. With a yelp, she pulled away and hid her
hands behind her back. “Haru.”
“Y-Yes?” she asked timidly.
He opened his mouth to speak and then paused.
Giotto glanced around the room before going towards the table in the middle of
the room. He came back with a bowl of fruit and handed it to her. She thanked
them for it and watched as he fumbled with trying to somehow convey his message
to her.
“...um... eat... then...” she tried to
understand as he motioned the actions. It was like playing Pictionary, but a
lot more difficult since she had no clue as to what he was trying to say.
Giotto pointed at the door and she looked at him confused. “Er... leave?”
He nodded.
“So, you want me to eat,” she lifted the bowl
up, “and then you want me,” she pointed at herself, “to leave?” Haru finished
by pointing at the door.
Giotto stared at her before shaking her head. He
reached for her hand and knitted his fingers together, lifting the joined hands
for her to see, before pointing at the door. She looked at their hands before
smiling shyly at him.
“You and me... together?” she tried again, pointing at herself and him, and
this time, she was answered by a nod and a brilliant smile.
Haru ducked her head at the sight of the smile.
He was only her age and yet he held a presence that told her exactly why so
many people had ended up following Giotto. There was a charismatic air around
him and the smile he gave looked so reassuring. Then there were those eyes...
He had these warm, confident eyes that not even
most adults attained with age and maturity.
But there was one thing that bugged her...
Weren’t his eyes supposed to be blue?
Haru knew that Tsuna-san only had those eyes
when with the Dying Will flames and according to the book Reborn-chan had given
her, Giotto-sama’s eyes were blue. Did this mean that Giotto-sama has already
awakened his Dying Will mode? If so, how was he able to? She really wanted to
ask him about this, but the communication obstacle was a problem... and she was
worried about asking Attilio-san... she couldn’t tell if he liked her or not.
There were so many questions she wanted to ask,
even if he wasn’t the great Vongola leader yet. Still, from the looks of it, it
appeared as though he would stay by her side.
And she would with him as well.
Besides, there had to be a reason why
Reborn-chan sent her. And she would wait patiently until she figured out what
that was. Since she couldn’t do anything major that might change history, maybe
it has something to do with helping the Primo? If that was the case, she would
definitely do all she could to help him!
He had been so kind to her when he didn’t even
really know her and had stood up for her when she needed him...
Haru blinked when she realized she had been
spacing out. She smiled sheepishly when she saw that Giotto was staring at her,
a faint blush on her face. At the rate she was going, her face was seriously
going to be permanently red. It wasn’t her fault though! Giotto-sama... just
wasn’t what she had expected... and yet at the same time, he was.
Charismatic and kind with a strong presence...
But for some reason very clingy.
...it was just all too confusing.
Giotto grabbed her other hand with the bowl of
fruit and raised it up to her. Realizing what he wanted, she nodded eagerly.
“Oh, right! Yes, let’s eat and then go out!”
Right, why was she still so worried? If she
continued thinking too much on unnecessary things, it was going to complicate
everything. She needed to stop brooding and focus on what she could do right
now!
...which was virtually nothing since she didn’t
even know what it was that she had to do...
She glanced at their knitted hands and was glad
she wasn’t blushing this time. He meant no harm or maybe he didn’t even realize
just how intimate he was being. Maybe this long ago, Italy had some sort of
different custom she didn’t even know about. Europeans were also mostly known for being more openly affectionate with one another as well... it was just a cultural difference speaking right now!
Yeah, if she thought of it that way, she didn’t
feel as bashful.
Haru reached for an apple and took a small bite
of it. The fruit tasted sweet and made her realize just how hungry she was. It
wasn’t long until she was devouring it completely, reaching for another one in
the bowl.
One thing at a time.
She’d eventually learn why it was she was in
this timeline. But for now, Haru tightened her fingers around Giotto and merely
smiled at his curious yet delighted gaze, she’d take things one at a time.

AN: Haha, I wasn't kidding when I said that this story is taking the scenic route. It'll be slow and sweet. Expect more updates. Chapters will be either short or long depending on the scene or situation.
Lol at Giotto being touchy-feely. Poor Haru is so confused. The book was probably written by someone who didn't know him personally or maybe he changes in future, only YOU know. Ah the power an author holds:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for updating again so soon! Loved it:D
Concerning Ambigram, I haven't read it yet cause I seem to have lost my interest in TsunaHaru temporarily. Once I get back in the mood, I promise to R&R.
Concerning your new poll, I wish I could help but my drawing skills are yet to be developed:) The reward is certainly tempting, dammit I wish I could draw well!
Sorry for the long review...
The story is good. An interesting path into the way that this pairing will go. I wonder how you will unfold the story. This pairing is rare and it is very hard to do such a paring since they are literally generations apart. But I think that you are doing quite an amazing job right now in bring these two together, so kudos to you. I look forward to more of this story.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that I love all your stories with Haru, so far! However, this one has to be my favorite! :3
ReplyDeleteAlso, sorry for being anonymous. For some reason, this is the only way I can post comments. It just doesn't like my google account, it seems. :/
