Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Genesis - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - Chapter 06

Summary: There was a reason why Reborn got Haru involved with the Mafia. Even if she was useless to them in fights and even if she couldn't provide as much emotional strength as Kyoko, she was vital and without her, there would just be no Vongola. G86/GiottoHaru

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC and I guess I'll explain some stuff at the end of the chapter, just so I won't spoil things! XD

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. lol, i still don't understand the beta system thing and I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Genesis: Chapter 06

“Apple.” Haru pronounced while holding the fruit up.

Giotto grinned at her, reaching out to take the red-skinned produce from her. “Apple.... orange, and grape!”

As he spoke, he began to take said fruit out of the bowl and placed it on the table. Haru grinned back at him, unable to stop her marvel over how he was able to soak up her language like a sponge. The naming of fruit right now was simply a review.

After last night’s discovery of Giotto’s talented memory, Haru had been enthusiastic about teaching him. He was going to be internationally revered in the future and she wanted to be of some help, even if it was only slightly. So far, he had been able to memorize various terms.

This practice was also very helpful for her as well since he was able to teach her some of his language as well. Though since she wasn’t able to memorize words as fast as he, his unlimited patience was something she was very grateful for.

“Haru, Haru, outside.” He said excitedly, holding his hand out for her. Haru giggled and grabbed it, letting him lead her outside of the cabin. A light blush dusted her cheeks, but this was a major improvement compared to how flushed she had been when he first held her hand.

She listened patiently as he rapidly began to point at their surroundings, naming everything in a matter so easy that it was quite hard not to envy his ability. But she was very glad for his photographic memory. It’d make the transition to being a powerful leader easier.

Haru discreetly glanced at Giotto.

It was Giotto’s fate to become the leader of the Vongola, but she couldn’t help but wonder what sort of dreams he had right now. After all, he was still young, but it shouldn’t be too long until his dream of creating an organization to protect the weak would start.

Darn this language barrier.

Giotto noticed Haru’s stare, but saw that she seemed a bit distracted by her own thoughts. There was a frown and her eyebrows were knitting together. He gently reached out and placed his fingertips between her brows, smoothing the wrinkle. She looked at him in surprise.

“Smile,” he said with a charming grin of his own.

She blinked at him dumbly and blushed, looking down. It was hard not to get flustered when someone was as forward as him. She was starting to wonder if she’d ever get completely used to his personality.

“Haru unhappy?” he inquired gently and her head snapped upward. The smile was still on his face, but the brilliance of it had slightly faded. The glow was replaced by a solemn contemplation that had such sincerity that Haru unconsciously reached up and cupped the sides of his face, wanting to smooth away the sadness.

When his surprised gaze turned to hers, she then realized what she was doing. With a yelp, she retraced her hands and kept them behind her.

Just what the heck was she doing? They barely knew each other!

...maybe his forwardness was infectious...

While she stewed in her own thoughts, Giotto gazed at her in silent astonishment before he broke out into a smile.

His eyes carefully observed this strange flustered girl in front of him, this foreign girl who somehow knew his name...

Miura Haru was it?

Or was it just Haru?

Such a confusing girl.

She seemed so confused and lost that Giotto couldn’t help but feel patient. The girl appeared to be his age and yet she looked so delicate compared to the other girls he had seen in the village nearby. Her skin was quite pale unlike the tanned skin of the village girls and then there were those strange clothes of hers.

But all thoughts of his were quelled when he felt a slight tug on his sleeve. The girl Haru didn’t appear to be aware of her movements and seemed to be having some sort of internal conflict instead.

Was this some sort of unconscious dependence on him?

Did she trust him, a complete stranger, that much?

But what had he done to earn such faith?

A strange girl who knew his name and had such trust on him to the point that her subconscious seemed to lean on him...

“Hahi?” Haru gasped in surprise when she realized just how intently Giotto was staring at her. It wasn’t like one of his normal inquisitive gazes, but one of deep reflection. It caused her flaming cheeks to burn even brighter, but she felt concern due to how different his expression was compared to his usual one.

Her gasp seemed to have broken him out of his thoughts and he smiled at her, as though trying to reassure. He grabbed her hand and began to take her down another one of his various unseen paths, eagerly naming the next sent of terms she had taught him.

And while she did listen to him, a part of her now wondered what had been going through his mind.

She only knew of the Giotto of the future and she didn’t even really know that version of him either, only about him through people and books. His past was shrouded in mystery and no on even knew of his true origins...

Just who was this boy who was to grow to be such a great man?

AN: Just in case people missed it, that flashback scene is from when Giotto and Haru first met each other. n_n Kind of like what Giotto was thinking when he first met her.

  3. Uwahhhh~

I really, really enjoyed both chapter 5 and 6! I like how Haru is doing her best in the past and that the story is set in a steady, almost peaceful pace. Your portrayal of Giotto is most interesting and I like how clingy Giotto is to Haru. Makes one wonder if it's on purpose or not. Hehehehe. Thank you very much for the updates. I was really surprised to see so much updates when I came to check in on this site. Hehehehe~

    A happy reader,
