ONESHOT
Summary: It was a silent agreement that took place between the two great leaders of the Vongola. One of the past and one of the present... It was only with this agreement that the bastard would agree to help... and the Decimo found himself with no option with agreeing for even if he didn't, the Primo would always get what he wants. G86/GiottoHaru (Sequel: The Ball)
My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC and I guess I'll explain some stuff at the end of the chapter, just so I won't spoil things! XD
I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!
Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. lol, i still don't understand the beta system thing and I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.
This oneshot is the prize for Suggii Chuu for
entering the contest! I wanted your approval before posting this, but since I
believe life is being greedy with your attention, I decided to just post this
so others can read it and I can continue with the fanfics. Hope you're well and
happy! :3

The Vongola Decimo sat up straight in his seat, his hands tightened into fist as he struggled to maintain his composure. His sharp two-toned eyes stared blankly at the man before him, but found that no matter how he focused with his hyper-intuition, he could think of nothing that would help him change the tides to his favor.
Then
again, that was to be expected.
There
was amusement in the man’s eyes and it took all of Tsuna’s will-power not to
openly show hostility towards the very man who was their only hope when it came
to defeating the organization dealing with the Ring Hunts.
Shit.
It
was like looking right into a mirror, albeit there were minor traits that
separated them from each other. However, the resemblance was uncanny. No wonder
during his younger years he had often been compared to this man.
The
man with no flaw...
The
one considered to be the greatest and fiercest leader seen in the history of
the underground world.
Undefeated...
The
epitome of perfection...
He
was the one all desired to be like and the one all fervently wished to follow
with their dying breath.
“Why?”
Tsuna asked through gritted teeth.
The
amusement in the orange two-toned eyes brightened. Leaning back against the
seat, the man leaned against the fist of the arm resting against the chair.
When he spoke, Tsuna’s spine tingled in anticipation and fear. Despite how this
man was containing his flames, he could sense the very power resonating off of
him. “Why not?”
“This
isn’t a game!” Tsuna spat angrily. The normally composed and sometimes timid
Decimo exploded with how this man dared to play around with a person’s life,
especially when said person’s life was one of his most cherished friends. “She
isn’t some toy you can just do whatever you want with!”
The
amusement faded, replaced with an icy glare that made the hair in the back of
Tsuna’s neck stand. “Watch your mouth, boy.”
Despite
the terror, Tsuna forced it down with his indignation on behalf of his friend.
However, instead of snapping, he regained his composure and sat stiffly in his seat.
He wasn’t sure whether to be happy about the look of approval that suddenly
seemed to somewhat glimmer in the eyes of the man in front of him.
“Why
her?” he asked calmly. “What do you want with her?”
The
amusement flickered back to life. “She... amuses me.”
Her hands clamped onto his cloak, her warm brown
eyes filled with desperation. Despite the heavy rain that fell around them, he
could see the tears flowing down her cheeks. Her face was bloody with large
cuts and bruises while some parts of her dress appear to be torn to shreds.
However, she didn’t even seem to notice her state of undress nor how the
Vongola guardians were all addressing her with open hostility.
“Help us,” she spoke quietly, but the intensity
behind her words seemed to cut through the lightening that clapped in the air.
The hand that held onto his cloak shook furiously, but she wasn’t daunted. She
looked at him with those will-full eyes, so pleading and yet determined to
force him to obey her whims if he were to deny her. “Please help us.”
It
had been obvious how terrified she was of the situation she was in, but she
hadn’t allowed that to get in the way of her mission. People were dying in her
timeline, her friends, her family,
were all slowly getting slaughtered by a cruel organization who desired their
powerful rings merely because of how ‘pretty’ they were.
The
value of those powerful weapons forgotten under the gaze of the insane.
Transported
to the past in order to recruit help, she didn’t care what sort of humiliation
she would have to endure as long as she got the help needed.
And
that passionate determination had, in turn, caught the fascination of Giotto.
Never
in his life had he met such a woman like Miura Haru.
The
opinions of other people mattered little to her. All she cared about was the
safety and happiness of the people she cherished. For that, she would gladly
surrender her life. And when it came to her friends, she could be both fiery
and mull-headed, forming a combination that had driven over half of his men
mad.
It
had caused him to laugh in a manner he had thought he had forgotten how to.
“I
told you that she’s not a toy!” the shout of his descendant caused Giotto to
snap out of his musings. He gave an impatient glare at the child and felt both annoyance and satisfaction at how properly
cowed he was. It was well and all for this boy to understand how he was before
someone much stronger than him, but as the current leader of the Vongola, he
couldn’t afford to show such weakness.
At
least he spoke his mind as well when it came to his famiglia.
“Whoever
claimed that she was a toy?”
The
inquiry came out smoothly, easily rolling off of his tongue in the Japanese he
had perfected soon after meeting his Rain Guardian Ugetsu. There must have been
some sort of sentiment in the way he spoke for Tsuna seemed to calm down a
little, although the glare remained on his face.
“Then
what do you mean by amusement?”
“Time is not something one should mess with,”
Giotto stated calmly, chuckling at how Haru’s cheeks seemed to puff with
frustration. He continued to riffle through the stacks of paper on his desk,
seemingly uninterested in what she had to say. “I’m sorry, little one, but
there’s nothing I can do about it. Besides, if the Vongola truly does become
defeated by these people, then that means that-.”
“We won’t lose!” Haru snapped, cutting him off.
“Tsuna-san will never lose.”
Irritation briefly flashed through Giotto’s
features. Again with this Tsuna. Whoever this man was clearly had a strong hold
over Haru’s affection and it had been a large thorn on his side whenever he
interacted with Haru.
He moved without warning, his shoes clicking
against the marble floors as he made his way towards her. Haru’s eyes widened
briefly in surprise and she ended up stepping back, avoiding his approach until
she was pressed against the wall. She released a loud squeak when he slammed
his hands against the wall, keeping her trapped before him.
And despite the nervousness edging in, she never
took her eyes off of him.
Bigger and more dangerous people have cowered
under his gaze and yet this woman who barely reached his chin didn’t dare to do
so.
“If your precious Tsuna is enough to handle the
danger, why is it that you’ve asked for me to save him?” he asked coldly,
leaning in close in order to intimidate her with his presence. However, his
plan seemed to be backfiring what with how it provided him with a different
feel of her presence.
That sweet addictive smell of her hair and the
glimmer of her brown eyes...
If he leaned just a bit closer, he would be able
to have a taste of those luscious red lips that tempted him with each sharp
retort she made. Was she not aware of just how delicious she appeared to him?
How vulnerable she allowed herself to be around him?
But just as he is about to give into temptation
and claim her lips as his, she spoke, breaking the spell he would always become
trapped in whenever he was around her.
“Who said anything about saving us?”
He’d
almost laughed at the realization that he’d walked right into that one. She had
never really asked for him to do all the work. Asking for ‘help’ didn’t exactly
equate to ‘save’. The tricky minx only wanted him to train her precious Tsuna
and the rest of the guardians so that they could be strong enough to deal with
such matters on their own in the future.
Giotto
chuckled. “I’m sure you can figure out the meaning on your own.”
There
was a low growl from Tsuna before he spoke almost petulantly. “You’re nothing
like the stories I’ve been told.”
“History
tends to distort the truth,” Giotto replied carelessly.
This
time there was no reply as Tsuna’s eyes shifted away. What he said hadn’t been
exactly true. Despite the years that have passed, Tsuna still remembered the
conversation from when he had been in the alternative future with the evil
Byakuran. Before the true power of the Vongola rings had been awakened, G had
clearly stated that Giotto had always done whatever he wished...
A
selfish yet powerful man...
The
world should be very grateful that said man actually had interest in protecting
the weak instead of dominating over them.
“That’s... Giotto-sama?” Tsuna asked breathlessly,
his eyes wide as he froze under the heavy gaze of the Vongola Primo. He was
knocked out of his amazement when Haru barreled into his arms, giving him an
extremely tight hug which only served to remind him of where exactly she had
been the past few weeks. Glad to have her back, he was about to wrap his arms
around her when there was a dangerous spike of power flickering around the man
with the glowing blonde hair.
“I’m sorry Tsuna-san,” she murmured quietly,
unaware of the fierce possessive flames that were slowly sizzling off from the
man with the cold soft smile behind her. “I couldn’t get him to agree to fight
with us, but he and the other Guardians are willing to train you all so you can
grow stronger. Haru figured that was better since this means we won’t have to
bother them again over dangers of the future...”
Tsuna blinked at her apologetic tone and smiled,
placing a hand on her head and almost flinched at how his instincts demanded
that he moved away from her. Others wouldn’t even notice the quiet hostility,
the sharp scrutiny, that the Primo was conveying. Tsuna’s hyper intuition was
the only reason why he noticed at all. “You did fine Haru-chan... thank you.”
This time he hugged her back, doing his best to
ignore the quiet smoldering stare from the Primo.
Yes, Haru had managed to return with
reinforcements... but what sort of monster had she brought back along as well?
“She’s
not a thing I can just give to you,” Tsuna muttered almost resentfully, no
longer able to look at Giotto in the eye. “If you want... If you want Haru,
you’re on your own.”
“That’s
not something you need to worry yourself over,” Giotto replied coolly. It
wasn’t as though the level-headed Primo had needed Tsuna’s blessings. He just
wanted the boy to understand the situation and to stand down. It would be more
aggravating if the boy got in the way in the midst of his hunt.
“But,”
Tsuna suddenly spoke in a stronger voice. It was a voice with power, a voice of
a leader Giotto knew he could accept in being the Decimo of the Vongola. “If
Haru resists in any way and you continue bothering her, ancestor or not, I’ll
do everything in my power in order to get rid of you.”
Giotto
resisted the urge to bark out in laughter. “Worry more for yourself, boy. In
the next few days, you’re going to wish you were in hell, or better yet, dead.
As for Haru,” the two-toned eyes darkened and Tsuna almost shuddered at the
sight of the smirk on Giotto’s face. “She’s as good as mine.”
::owari::
AN: Giotto calls Tsuna boy because to him, Tsuna’s a child -at least in terms of being a leader- even if technically, they’re close to the same age in this oneshot and I’m not even going to go into how Giotto really is older than Tsuna because he’s from the past because that’ll complicate things. xD
