Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Chapter Twelve

HappyFace1886

Tsuna exited from the meeting room knowing that after he left, his Guardians would discuss amongst themselves on what they would do. It was already predictable in his eyes on what form of attack they would prefer. Mukuro would stand down until he was attacked while Hibari would go and attempt to annihilate the Shimon Famiglia on his own. Though Hibari bore no personal grudge against the Shimon, if it meant for an exciting battle, he would go forth because he wanted to.

Yamamoto and Gokudera were loyal and would follow any plan Tsuna provided. Ryohei would be a bit more hesitant on blatantly attacking someone in the manner Tsuna proposed, but it would be easy to convince the Sun Guardian as to the necessity behind a direct attack against the Shimon.

The bitterness in Tsuna’s face was profound.

Yes, it was simply too easy for him to manipulate the people around him to do his bidding.

He turned the corridor and the weight on his shoulders somewhat lifted at the sight of a familiar door approaching his line of vision.

And yet there was one who refused to follow his way. Even the likes of Bianchi fell in line to his orders when the situation called for it, but not this girl. No, Haru refused to listen unless it was something she herself believed in. He could tell by the way she constantly defied Dante, going about her own in order to learn of the Vongola. Even after she learned of his true identity, she merely spat more fire in his direction instead of becoming in awe or in fear of him. She was also brave, willingly going against Xanxus when he attacked her instead of cowering in fear.

A smile danced on his lips at the memory of how her eyes sparkled when enraged. It was something he wanted to see more often. He could already see the way she would bristle at him like a disgruntled kitten and his eyes darkened at how she’d be wearing one of the neat selection of clothing he had left her behind. Ah, if anything, he could simply dismiss Bianchi and he and Haru could spend the rest of the days indoors... exploring.

His steps quickened at the thought and he flung the door open without knocking. His eyes then widened in surprise when he saw what Haru was dressed and it didn’t look like any of the clothes he had left her behind. The simple black dress that clung modestly to her form looked familiar, but he remembered it being slinkier, something that could have been easily torn off with a flick of his wrist. Not to mention, he didn’t remember providing her with anything that would cover her arms. And yet here she was, wearing a white shawl that nearly covered her entire top.

Tsuna’s eyes then noticed something wrong with the bed sheets. His eyebrows furrowed in concentration and when he noticed the nearby scissors, he was easily able to put two and two together. “...you cut the bed sheets in order to make a shawl for yourself?”

Haru, having broken away from her surprise when he had come bursting in without permission, scowled at him. “You have no right to say anything, you perv! And I’m not paying for the sheets, if that’s what you’re going to talk about next.”

On the side, Bianchi chuckled under her breath. Tsuna promptly ignored her. Judging by the sewing tools littering the room, Bianchi had a hand in this development.

Apparently he had underestimated both Haru and Bianchi. Though he had expected Bianchi to help in some form, if only to get under his skin, he hadn’t thought she’d provide Haru with a method to bypass his plans. And he definitely hadn’t expected Haru to be skilled enough with the needle to modify clothes to suit her needs.

“You look... nice,” he remarked honestly, surprising even himself. The clothes he had provided would have provided quite the delicious view, but what she wore looked... nice.

Haru appeared taken aback by his words before scowling again, unwilling to fall for any of his lies. “Thank you. And now that you’re done with whatever you’re up to, Haru is leaving.”

He frowned. “No, you’re staying here.”

“I’ve been here all night because you kept telling me it was dangerous outside but you can’t keep me here any longer! You have no right!” she crossed her arms angrily over her chest. The way she was bristling indicated that she wouldn’t back down without a fight.

“You were attacked last night,” Tsuna tried to reason with her. “It’s safer for you here.”

“I was only attacked because I went outside when everyone was told to stay in. Granted, no one would explain to me why I couldn’t go outside in the first place, but now that I know, I won’t be making the same mistake twice.” She easily retorted. “So there’s no reason for me to stay here any longer.”

“What if the one who attacked you remembers you and tries to come after you again.”

Haru frowned at him. “And why would they come after Haru again? She hasn’t done anything for them to attack her.”

“I think what Tsuna means is what if they come after you again because of your connection to him? After all, someone could have noticed that you were carried off by intimate members of the Vongola.” Bianchi intervened smoothly. “I’m sure you’re likely to not know this, but the ones who brought you here, Hayato and Yamamoto, are members of the Vongola Guardians.”

“Guardians?” Haru echoed in confused.

“The Guardians are my own personal guards. I suppose if you think of it in a military standpoint, they would be my generals and the ones right beneath me.” Tsuna provided while leaning against the wall with his own arms crossed. “Of all the members of the Vongola, they would be the ones considered the closest to me and the ones I consider most trust-worthy.”

“If the Shimon, whom the Vongola are currently in strife with, saw that you were taken personally by the Vongola Guardians to a safe location, they would have reason to consider you to be potential bait.”

“Bait,” Haru gawked at the word. “Bait for whom? Why would anyone believe that Haru could be useful bait to someone?”

When Tsuna hesitated, Bianchi provided an answer. “There have been rumors of the Vongola heir scandalously playing with a Japanese whore who has some secret technique in bed that has captivated the Decimo’s attention. His fondness and addiction to her is so great that he is even forgoing his usual pattern of dropping a woman after a few days. His record is an hour, by the way. Many would see this as a weakness and an opportunity to cripple the Decimo and wouldn’t hesitate to kidnap you if it means having some leverage over him.”

By the time, Bianchi was done with her nonchalant speech, Haru was trembling with anger and indignation. Her fiery brown eyes turned to Tsuna and for once, the fearless leader found that he couldn’t face her ire. There was a bad taste in his mouth that Haru found out about the baseless rumors spread about her and he couldn’t understand why there was a sharp twinge in his chest when he saw the hurt in her eyes as well.

“A-A whore? Is that... is that what you think of me?” she all but snarled at him, pointing an accusing finger towards him. “Especially since you’re the one who gloms all over me whenever I try to get away? A-A... hahi, I can’t say that word again!”

He didn’t even bother trying to defend himself, his instincts telling her that even attempting to say anything would just sound like lies. Not to mention, it was unlikely that she would even listen to what he’d say. And as though she knew exactly what was going through his head, Bianchi rolled her eyes in exasperation.

For someone who was so possessive over Haru, he really had difficulty reading her.

“I’m leaving and don’t even bother trying to stop me!” Haru stormed past him and Bianchi almost face palmed when Tsuna didn’t even attempt to grab her arm. He just stood there as Haru slammed the door behind her.

“Idiot,” she remarked.

Tsuna glared at her.

“Don’t give me that look,” she rolled her eyes again. “You should have defended yourself.”

“Would she have listened?”

“Not immediately, but you know she’s going off right now to stew in her thoughts. Wouldn’t it have been better to at least provide a decent explanation for her to think over while she does? Your silence just proves that the rumors hold an inkling of truth in them.” Bianchi scolded. Really, for someone with so much experience with women, he really sucked when it came to actually connecting with them.

“You’ve only known her for a few hours,” Tsuna said sharply. “What makes you think you know her better than I do? Women’s intuition?”

Bianchi ignored the sarcasm and flicked her hair over her shoulders with a toss of her hand, looking more and more annoyed with the younger Vongola Decimo. “Please, you can already tell that the girl has a good head over her shoulders.”

“And how is that?”

“Because she hasn’t lost her mind while dealing with you and hasn’t acted stupid either after learning that she’s become involved with a dangerous organization. She already proved that she can handle unusual situations, what with your stupid taste in clothes and how she didn’t back down when Xanxus tried to kill her.” Bianchi then smirked at him. “If anything, you’re the one who should try and keep up with her.”

Tsuna glared darkly at her. “Just hurry and go after her.”

The sigh Bianchi released was heavy with exaggeration. “And apparently too much of a coward by sending someone else to do what should be your job.”

“I am doing my job,” he murmured softly as she walked past him, “and that’s being the leader of the Vongola.”

“Don’t think that a single duty is what defines a person,” she countered with ease, “if simply being a bloodthirsty animal was what made the Vongola leader, we could have gotten an actual blood thirsty animal to do the job for you. And in that sense, Reborn was right. It was much too early for you.”

This time, Tsuna fell silent as Bianchi left the room, her words lingering in his mind while his hands tightened into clenched fists.

“The... The nerve of that jerk!” Haru wanted to scream out in rage over the new information she had obtained, but forced herself to keep her cool. She was still in enemy territory. It wouldn’t do to attract unwanted attention. The whole Xanxus incident immediately came to mind.

Breathing in and out carefully, she glowered angrily and somehow managed to keep her feet from stomping loudly onto the ground. With the quick pace she was walking in, it wasn’t long until she reached the end of the hallway, which diverged to two paths. She gritted her teeth.

Great.

Left or right?

“Go left.”

Haru stilled at the familiar voice and how, once again, it came from somewhere below. She slowly lowered her gaze and saw the adorable baby boy from before. A piece of her anger dissipated at the sight and she sighed, crouching down before the infant to reach his level.

“It’s you again,” she said softly.

“Ciaossu,” the baby greeted with a tip of his fedora.

Haru gave a mirthless giggle. “Left again?”

“It may help give you some answers that you’re looking for.”

She paused at this information, her brows knitting together in contemplation. “Thank you for telling me how to find the perv-... ahem, the person I was looking for. But,” she hesitated, “if I go left again, will I end up meeting someone as scary as Xanxus-san?”

“You were never really in danger,” the baby grinned at her. “Dame-Tsuna came at the right moment, didn’t he? And you’re also quite capable in taking care of yourself.”

Haru smiled at her. “What’s your name?”

“Reborn.”

“Reborn,” Haru repeated, testing the word out. It obviously wasn’t a Japanese name and didn’t appear Italian either. “So Reborn-chan, what are you still doing here? It’s pretty dangerous here, after all.”

“I’m part of the mafia,” Reborn patiently explained to her. “I’m an assassin.”

Haru resisted the urge to frown. It couldn’t be that the pervert actually allowed children to work as assassins here, right? Even he wouldn’t stoop that low. Then the rumor about her being a whore came to mind and Haru didn’t know whether to blow up in anger or wilt over that information.

“Don’t think so little of him.”

“Hahi?” she looked in surprise at the baby. It was almost as though he read her mind!

“Dame-Tsuna may be an idiot, but don’t give up on him.” Reborn watched her reactions carefully. “He’s not a complete buffoon. At least not yet. So give him a chance. Listen to what he has to say.”

“I... I don’t think he’s a bad person,” Haru admitted softly. “I just don’t know what to believe. He kept secrets from me and now I learned that people are talking about false things about me and he’s not even denying it.”

“If you don’t think he’s bad, maybe there’s a reason why he never stopped those rumors from flying.” he reasoned and couldn’t help but smile at the fact that despite feeling rightfully hurt about what she had learned, she was still clear-headed enough to think things through. “And don’t be too harsh on him. There are reasons why he’s the way he is.”

“Like what sort of reasons?” Haru murmured with her eyes downcast.

Reborn placed a tiny reassuring hand on her cheek. “He’s the same age as you, Haru. Take a moment to consider that fact.”

Haru looked into the eyes of the tiny baby in front of her. For a small child, he seemed so wise beyond his years. Was this normal in the mafia? Were children much older and wiser than they seemed here? “But... I-.”

“There you are.” Haru looked behind her to see Bianchi standing there with one hand propped against her hip as she stood casually in the middle of the hallway. “What are you doing there?”

“Hahi, I was just talking to...” by the time Haru turned her attention back to where the infant had been standing, he was gone. She frowned. “Eh?”

“Talking to?” Bianchi arched an eyebrow.

“N-Nevermind!” Haru hastily got off the ground, patting invisible dust off of herself. “What are you doing here, Bianchi-san?”

“I can’t let you go off on your own. It’s my job to watch over you today, after all.” the older woman said with a shrug. “I see you’ve cooled down already.”

The reminder of why she had stormed off in the first place caused Haru to tense up. She looked away, unable to meet Bianchi’s gaze anymore. She grabbed onto her arm self-consciously. That’s right. She was angry at the stupid perv right now. She had every right to be furious at that jerk for what he had just put her through last night.

“Bianchi-san...”

“Hm?”

“What’s in the direction of the hallway to the right?” Haru inquired quietly, keeping her back turned from the older woman.

“The right should lead you to near the entrance of the manor. Granted, I can’t let you go off on your own, but if you truly wish to go to Dante-san, I can escort you to him and keep watch over you at his place.” she explained. “If he really works for the Vongola, there would also be other staff with him as well. I can convince the brat to let you stay there since there will be personnel to back us up if we find trouble.”

“What about...” Haru felt her heart beating loudly against her chest and was almost worried that Bianchi-san would hear it. “What about in the direction of the hallway to the left?”

“Well since the right would lead to the entrance, the left will lead you further into the manor.”

“But is there anything... specifically there?”

Bianchi crossed her arms, internally narrowing her eyes. Something felt amiss. There was a change in there air. Had someone met Haru in the middle of the hallway? “There’s the kitchen, the courtyard, the library, the-.”

The other words seemed to fade away as Haru latched onto the key.

A library.

There was a library in that direction.

A library within the stronghold of the Vongola organization...  it possibly held information regarding the history of this place and it could also hold the answers to all of her questions.

“Haru?” Bianchi asked, sounding somewhat concerned.

Left or right?

“He’s the same age as you, Haru. Take a moment to consider that fact.”

Haru’s grip on her arm tightened as she swiveled on her heel, turning towards the hallway of her choosing. Bianchi looked puzzled at her decision, but followed nonetheless. “Changed your mind, have you?”

“I came to Italy to learn,” Haru secretly applauded herself for being able to keep her voice from shaking. The applause turned to cheers when she was able to give Bianchi a sincere smile. “And what better place to learn than the library belonging to an organization such as this?”

Sleep Rituals

HappyFace1886

It was around five in the morning when one Miura Haru was jolted out of her sweet dreams of devouring an endless mountain of pastries. She moaned unhappily and clung onto her pillow, willing herself back into her pleasant dream while mumbling incoherently about a chocolate fountain and cream puffs. Still, at the back of her mind, she felt as though the loud cacophony of noise sounded strangely familiar... like a helicopter that was much too close to her house...

A hand suddenly reached out to grab her mouth and she didn’t even have the chance to shriek before it was covered by a cloth, her wrists also grabbed and tied firmly behind her back. Her eyes snapped open, but it was difficult to see through the darkness, especially since her attackers were also dressed in black. All she saw were the faint red light from their night-vision goggles. She thrashed viciously, desperately trying to set herself free.

With how ferociously she fought, she managed to pull away from the cloth covering her mouth and scream as loudly as she could. There was a chorus of curses in a language she didn’t understand –was that Italian?!– before a hand slapped over her mouth this time. Tears gathered in the corner of her eyes in pain over how hard she was hit. Still, unwilling to back down, she bit as hard as she could to get the hand to let go. She was rewarded with a pained howl before she felt something hit her in the back of her head, her vision then spotting before frightening darkness overcame her.

“Voi! I told you not to hurt her!” there was a howl of rage and Haru almost whimpered at how the loud voice caused a zing of pain to strike through her head. She had no idea what he was saying, but the man sounded ferociously angry. There was a gentle touch that examined the bump on the back of her head and she vaguely heard what sounded like faint groveling in the background.

“Now, now, Squalo-chan,” another male voice tutted, most likely belonging to the one tending to her injury, “there’s no need to be so violent. The girl is fine.”

“And you think the boss will be alright with her being smacked unconscious because fucking trash can’t even handle one measly little girl?” the previous angry voice demanded and there were more pained cried from whomever was on the other end of his ire.

Haru wanted nothing more than to just close her eyes and go to sleep, to pretend that this was all just a dream and when she woke up, she’d still be in bed and preparing for school. Hahi! And today was supposed to be a special day too! Haru was supposed to go and hang out with Tsuna-san and the others! They had promised to all go to the park together because Lambo-chan and I-Pin-chan had begged and pleaded –not to mention annoyed from Lambo-chan’s part- the others before everyone had relented and agreed to go as a group.

And yet, she had been kidnapped by... by... by who knows who! Her head was also hurting and there was a man screaming in rage. She didn’t know where she was or what was going on. She just wanted to go home.

“Uh-oh, I think the girl’s awake,” there was amusement dripping from the voice of the man who was tending to her head. “Yoo-hoo, Squalo-chan, you should stop scaring the poor girl. She’s tearing up.”

“Like I give a fuck!” was the indignant reply.

“My goodness. I suppose it’s fortunate that the others are out on a mission right now. It wouldn’t do if we scared you any further, hm?” Lussuria chuckled and then paused when Haru didn’t react. “Oh, that’s right! You don’t speak Italian. There’s no need to be afraid, little one. We’re not going to hurt you.”

Haru stiffened at the sound of Japanese and cracked open an eye. She almost froze in horror at the sight of the fully grown man whose hair was partially shaved while the rest of what was left was colored flamboyantly green. He also wore a pair of red-rimmed shades and had the most salacious smile on his face. Just who in the world kidnapped her?

With a muffled cry of fear, Haru tried to pull away from the man and tumbled off of the sofa she had been on. The world began to spin and she moaned from the ground, holding her head. “Hahi... what’s going on?”

“Now, now, Haru-chan-.”

“H-How do you know my name?” Haru spun around to face the strange man only to groan at how her headache worsened. “Who are you? Where am I? What do you-?”

“Shut up!” this time a man with ridiculously long silver hair appeared and Haru’s eyes bulged at what looked like a sword attached to the man’s left arm. “Fuck! What the hell happens in the future that the boss... that the boss... Voi! I can’t even get the words out! This is fucking ridiculous!”

“You’re not the one who was kidnapped from their homes by a bunch of weirdos!” Haru yelled back, unable to hold back her indignation. She was probably signing her death certificate by yelling at this man, but at this point, she didn’t care. “Just take Haru home if you don’t want anything to do with her!”

There was a brief moment of silence as the silver haired man seemed surprise by her sudden defiance. Then his eyelid twitched. “Where the fuck are the shitheads who brought her here?”

“Still unconscious over there,” Lussuria offered while pointing at the pile of men on the ground nearby. “Why? Are you going to send her back?”

“Fuck no! I just need something else to beat the shit out of,” Squalo roared, knowing he couldn’t lay a finger on the brat without some dire consequences. “Voi! Why couldn’t the boss just go out and buy a woman for the night! Shit, he doesn’t even need to buy one. He could just pluck anyone off from the streets if he wanted to! Why her?”

“Um, while I do think highly of our dear boss, I doubt he’d be able to pick up some random woman off the street without her running off screaming,” Lussuria chuckled when he noticed just how rapidly Haru’s face was paling. “Oh no, there’s no need to worry, Haru-chan, he-.”

“Haru doesn’t know what you’re planning, but she’s not going to let you do what you want so easily!” she yelled while getting to her feet, almost stumbling as she made a break for it for the nearest door. Her head was feeling much better now, though there was still an ache over where she had been hit. Not to mention, after hearing what those two men were say, an icy cold splash of fear had struck her.

Hahi, she had to get out of here!

Haru grabbed the door handle and flung it open. She looked over her shoulder to see how close the two men were to catching up with her when she ended up smacking against what felt like a solid wall. She released a yelp and fell backwards, landing in an unceremonious heap on her rump. “Ow...”

“Boss!” there was a synchronized greeting from behind her and Haru stiffened.

B-Boss?

Did they just say boss?

Meaning, the one who ordered her kidnapping?

Slowly, Haru lifted her face to see the source of her misery and shivered at the sight of the angry glower looking down at her. The man was tall, extremely tall. Maybe it was because she was sitting, but she knew that even if she were to stand, he would still be towering over her. His hair was somewhat shaggy, messily covering parts of his face, and there was a blemish of some sort on his cheek. A scar from a burn?

A thick cloak was thrown over his broad shoulders and there was loose tie around his neck. His further unkempt appearance was emphasized by how several of the buttons of his dress shirt were undone. Despite his disheveled form, there was still an intimidating aura about him that made Haru shiver. She felt too vulnerable in her pink pajamas, her loose hair flowing messily around her shoulders as she tried not to whimper.

“Uh boss-,” Squalo began, but was silenced when Xanxus suddenly leaned towards Haru. There was a frightened squeak as she closed her eyes, only to pause when she felt the back of her night shirt being pulled. Her eyes widened when she realized she was being lifted up and before she could yell in protest, she was promptly thrown over the shoulder of the frightening ‘boss’.

Her face further paled as she locked eyes with Squalo and Lussuria, the questions practically shooting out from her face as she was then calmly carried away. Their looks of equal confusion were the last things she saw as the door was closed by the ‘boss’.

So stunned was she by this turn of events that it wasn’t until a good five minutes had passed when Haru finally snapped out of it. She began to squirm under the man’s hold. “P-Please let Haru go!”

Her request was ignored, the man’s grip on her waist still strong and steady as he walked down the dark corridor. She had half a mind to kick him, but instincts told her that he wasn’t going to take to that very well. Instead, she tapped on his back with her hands, trying to get his attention.

“E-Excuse me!” maybe he didn’t understand what she was saying? “Do you speak Japanese? I-.”

“Shut up,” he snapped and Haru clutched onto the back of his shirt, taken aback by the fact that he actually said something and not to mention, was very rude about it. His voice was deep and just as off-putting as his presence. Haru fell silent, falling limp under his hold while her imagination began to give her various dire scenarios that might possibly befall her.

Was this man going to make her cook and clean this place like some sort of maid? Or maybe... maybe he was going to make her serve them hand and feet like a slave instead! Or was he going to torture her instead? But why? She didn’t even know this man!

She sniffled a little and whispered quietly to herself. “I wish Tsuna-san was here...”

There was a loud bang that made her jump and Haru pressed her cheek into the man’s shoulder out of fear and surprise, her arm held over her head an attempt to protect herself. When nothing happened and she realized that the man was no longer walking, Haru slowly peered over her shoulder to see what happened and saw that the man had basically kicked open a door. There was a tremor beneath her and she realized that the man was currently shaking.

“H-Hahi, um-.” Whatever she was going to say was forgotten as the man then marched into the dark room, the door angrily shut behind them. She was then roughly thrown onto the bed in the middle of the room. She remained still, trying to figure out what just happened when she quickly spun around and sat up. A bed? Were they in some sort of bedroom?

A quick look around her confirmed this fact. There was a small desk in the corner of the room with an impressive collection of books strewn around tastefully. Whoever owned this building must be fairly wealthy since Haru was sure that this room had to be bigger than her entire house. There was even a fireplace in the other end of the room!

She shivered when her eyes landed back on the man in front of her. If she thought the previous glare from before had been scary, then this one was on a whole other level. Before she could get a word otherwise, the man spoke brusquely.

“Don’t you dare say that fucking trash’s name around me,” he snarled and Haru flinched.

“N-Name? What name? Do you mean T-.” a hand roughly grabbed her mouth, effectively silencing her while pushing her onto the bed. Her eyes locked onto the man’s crimson eyes and she could practically see the flames of anger scorching them.

“Are you hard of hearing?” he hissed. “Fucking scum.”

Her eyes widened at the insult. Scum? Her? Really? Without thinking, her hands reached out and pushed against his chest as hard as she could. Not that he really moved. Apparently this man was made out of pure muscle because pushing against him reminded her of how it had been like hitting into a wall when she had run into him. Still, she managed to wiggle her face out of his hold. “Haru is not scum! You’re the jerk who ordered those men to kidnap me! If anything, you’re the one who’s scum!”

The man sneered at her. “You’re still as pathetic as ever. Apparently you’re still the same as you will be in ten years.”

Haru gawked at him. Ten years? Was this man insane? “W-Who are you? Let me go!”

“Shut up,” he grunted as he released her. Haru remained still on the bed, still confused by what he said. It wasn’t until she saw him tossing his cloak aside that she reacted.

“W-What are you doing?” Her yells were ignored as the boots came off next, the tie and the shirt then thrown carelessly to the side. Haru’s face reddened at the sight of his toned chest before she slapped her hands over her face. “W-Why are you taking your clothes off?”

“Are you hard of hearing, woman?” the man demanded before getting onto the bed. Haru attempted to crawl away, but he simply grabbed her by the arm and pulled her until her back was pressed firmly against his chest. The feel of the heat from his body made Haru’s face burst into flames and she squirmed harder, trying to get away. The man took advantage of her movements, entangling their legs together while he lazily grabbed the blanket to throw over them. “Shut up.”

“I-.” the words melted into a squeak as he wrapped his arms around her, successfully cuddling her against him while his face was buried into her hair. She was smaller than what he was used to, but this would be work just fine. Just the feel of the warmth of her body and the familiar and comforting scent of hers was enough to relax some of the tension in his body.

Meanwhile, Haru felt as though she was going to faint by how this completely scary stranger was now using her as some sort of live teddy bear.

“Ohoho, who would have thought our boss would have turned out this way in the future,” Lussuria laughed while Squalo brooded in the corner.

Imagine all of their surprised faces when just a few hours ago their boss had been hit by a new version of the Bovino Famiglia’s ridiculous invention when the sample provided in the Varia’s dungeon had decided to explode in the middle of the evening. The version was considered ‘new’ because the stupid thing lasted more than five minutes this time. It actually lasted five days!

“What the fuck happened in the future? And out of all people, why such a weak and pathetic little girl like that?” Squalo griped, running a hand through his head.

At first, Squalo had been in awe over how awesome his boss was going to turn out. Not that he had ever believed his boss would turn out anything other than the way he would. However, when late in the night in Italy, a very big and obvious problem arose.

“I can’t sleep.”

“Voi! You hear that, scum? The boss can’t sleep!” Squalo yelled at the grunts that then began to run around in an attempt to find some way to get their boss comfortable enough to go to sleep. They had to up their game even more since this boss wasn’t just the ordinary boss, but the older and somehow even scarier one. “What do you need, boss? We’ll get you the thing that'll make you comfortable here.”

“Bring her to me.”

At that, Squalo faltered. “Uh... her?”

“Bring me Miura Haru.”

“Witchcraft. It had be witchcraft. Or-Or some sort of blackmail! No, wait, someone like our boss wouldn’t succumb to something as pathetic as blackmail!”

Lussuria chuckled, thoroughly amused by what was happening. “Well, who’s to say she remains the cute little girl that she is right now. She might change a lot in the future.”

“I highly doubt that,” Squalo deadpanned.

“But who would have thought that our indomitable boss would end up being unable to sleep without his woman around,” Lussuria continued cheerfully. “Not to mention, so loyal! Like you said, he could have had any woman he wanted. Especially since he’s literally separated from her through space and time, he could have had an affair without her ever knowing and yet, he chose to have her younger self kidnapped instead! Ohohoho, I knew our boss was amazing!”

“Voi! Like I give a shit about that! And seeing as though you’re getting a kick out of all of this, you’re the one who’s going to tell those brats back in Japan that their friend is going to be stuck in Italy for five days whether they like it or not!”

:::Meanwhile, ten years in the future...:::

Xanxus stiffened at the feel of a soft, plush body pressed intimately against him. For some reason, his arms were wrapped around this person’s waist and his face was buried into what smelled like soft sweet locks of hair. Fuck, had he actually slept with some whore and forget to kick her out after he was done with her?

The woman apparently felt him become rigid as she sighed softly and looked upward, smiling pleasantly at him in a way that made him even further tense up. The smile was too serene, too comfortable, as though it was something she gave to him every day. “What’s wrong, Xanxus? Are you feeling alright?”

Their eyes locked and he watched as the unfamiliar woman’s face melted into that of confusion and then finally understanding as she took in his younger features.

“...hahi, it’s that time already?”

“Who the fuck are you, scum?” he demanded.

“The scum is your woman, as you love to put it.” she scowled at him before pulling away from him. It wasn’t until she turned to face him did he realize that she was completely naked. Feeling his eyes roving over her, her face flushed prettily before she snatched the blankets close to her, wrapping them protectively around her. “And you keep your eyes to yourself!”

“Why should I if you’re really my woman,” he growled, already agitated and annoyed that he was even in this situation. “And where the fuck am I?”

Her eyes widened. “You don’t even know where you are? No, more like, you don’t even know when you’re in! Damn it, Xanxus, you never explained that part to me! You idiot! When you get back, I-.”

She was cut off when she was promptly grabbed by the neck and shoved onto the bed. Xanxus easily crawled on top of her, his hand already holding his trusty pistol as he pressed it against her head. “Talk now, before I lose my patience.”

Despite the fact that he could kill her with just a finger twitch of his finger, her face remained placid and calm. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”

“And why shouldn’t I?”

“Because then you’ll also be killing your unborn child, that’s why,” she snapped, clearly out of patience with this situation already. “And get off of me. You may be ten years younger, but you’re still heavy.”

Xanxus remained still, his mind trying to process what she had just told him. Unborn child? This woman... this woman was pregnant with his child? For a moment, he immediately decided that this fucking woman had to be lying. And then his mind decided to remind him of how a few days ago, the Bovino family had stashed a new version of their time traveling bazooka in the Varia castle...

Fuck.

“Who the fuck are you?”

She gave him an annoyed look. “I already told you-.”

“Your name, fucking trash.”

Instead of being angry with him, she arched an eyebrow. She was much too accustomed to his antics to be angered so easily by something of this level. “You’re really going to call me trash when I’m carrying you’re child?”

“If I knew your fucking name, I might not have to.”

“Haru,” she relented. “My name is Miura Haru. Now get off of me!”

He frowned, staring intently at her face. She didn’t look familiar at all. Did that mean this was someone he’d meet later on? Her appearance and name indicated that she was Japanese. Xanxus scowled. “Don’t tell me you’re with that shitty brat.”

This time, Haru looked confused. “Shitty brat? Do you mean Tsuna-san?”

Xanxus’s scowl deepened at that name and didn’t reply. Haru sighed, knowing he wasn’t going to say anything further about it when he was like this. Instead, she pushed him off of her and tugged the blanket closer in order to get some clothes from the nearby closet. She walked over the clothes strewn over the floor, knowing they were likely useless now since the Xanxus of her time had practically ripped them off of her just a few hours ago.

Sigh... to think he’d actually be taken from her before she’d even had a chance to tell him that she was pregnant.

Xanxus eyed her movement from the bed. What the fuck was he thinking in the future, getting together with pathetic trash like her? The moment he had a look at her face, he knew she was no fighter. Hell, she wasn’t some great beauty either. Though far from ugly, she had a plain yet sweet, innocent appearance. And then there was how he was holding her when he arrived in this timeline. Never had Xanxus held someone in that manner. Ever. Especially when it was someone he occasionally shared a few hours of his bed with.

And if the fact that she was pregnant was true, then that meant he intentionally didn’t use any protection. It meant he didn’t care if she ended up pregnant with his kid, effectively tying him to her forever.

“Well then, I guess this means we’re stuck together for five days.” Haru explained after putting on a simple blue robe with cute yellow stars decorating the edges. Xanxus twitched at the sight of the childish robe. Really, what the fuck was the future him thinking? “You can have this room. I’ll-.”

“What the fuck do you mean five days?” he demanded. Those stupid Bovino bazookas lasted five minutes!

She gave him a look of exasperation. “Really Xanxus, you should take some interest as to what’s going on in your facilities. Even if it doesn’t seem that important. After all, you might end up in a situation like you’re in now because of it.”

Xanxus was about to openly curse at her, but she continued speaking, ignoring his hostile glowers.

“And five days mean five days. The Bovino Famiglia was developing a new version of the bazookas. The one placed under the protection of the Varia was a prototype and possibly the first or second version of it. Unlike the usual bazooka, this one lasts five days.”

This time Xanxus openly swore while Haru felt a smile play at the corner of her lips.

“That means you’re stuck for five days in the future.”
