Notes

My first post on tumblr! It's the drafted sequel to 'Bargain' for Giotto x Haru that I didn't like how it turned out. I know a few were curious and now I finally have a platform to post my incompleted or 'drafted/discarded' work! :) Hopefully I'll have time to post other incompleted work or any work that I have written, but didn't have any plans on actually posting on my blog.

As for my current WIP, I'm currently working on Ambigram!

Ambigram - Katekyo Hitman Reborn - Chapter 07

Summary: AU In where Tsuna and Xanxus grew up together, watching each other's back... where innocence was tainted since the start... One Miura Haru finds herself in a various precarious situation 2786/TsunaxHaru

My lack of KHR knowledge might make some things untrue or some characters OOC! XD

I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn because if I did, there would be a lot more Haru loving!

Please forgive any mistakes, both character-wise and grammatically wise. I don't really have time to re-read and edit things.

Chapter Seven: The Decimo's Guest

HappyFace1886

Haru eyes opened, a soft moan escaping from her lips. She had a headache and her limbs felt so heavy. Whatever she was lying against was soft and warm, but it... was moving?

Someone was carrying her on their back!

Her eyes slowly widened before she sat up quickly, the memory of the last event that had happened before she had passed out immediately resurfacing in her mind. She let out a loud ‘eep’ and pulled away as far as she could from Yamamoto, a vibrant blush on her face while she looked very mortified.

Then the fear and anger settled in.

Dante-san had said the Vongola protected the town and yet the Vongola was mafia?

Had he lied to her?

And what about the perverted bastard? Had he known all along and played her like a fool?

“You’re awake.” Yamamoto noted with a smile, glancing behind him.

“Let me down,” Haru said, trying to keep her turbulent emotions at bay. He wasn’t hurting her and it didn’t look like he wanted to do anything. That was the only reason why she wasn’t struggling with all her might to get away.

And where were they anyways?

They were no longer in the dark streets where she had been... been attacked by that red haired boy. The setting had changed into a long dark corridor that was dimly lit, several chandeliers sparkling mutedly from above. It was like a scene out of a 17th century European manor.

“You should take it easy.” Yamamoto said, continuing his walk. Gokudera grumbled something incoherent beside him. “We’re heading to the medical wing so that you can get checked out by the doctor.”

“I’m fine, I don’t need a doctor.” Haru rushed. “I just want to go home.”

“See, the wench just wants to go so just call someone who can take her back.” Gokudera growled. He and Haru locked eyes for a brief second and the unpleasant sneer he gave her made her glower at him. “What the hell are you looking at?”

“Someone very rude and mean,” she snapped back. “There’s no need for name-calling when you don’t even know Haru!”

“Haru, is that your name?” Yamamoto perked up, trying to break the brewing fight when he saw Gokudera’s face reddening with anger.

Haru wanted to smack herself for giving that away. “Y-Yes and-.”

“My name is Yamamoto Takeshi.” He said. “And that’s Gokudera Hayato.”

“Hahi, you two are Japanese as well?” Haru asked, startled. She shook her head right after. No, no, she was getting off topic. “I’m sorry. Thank you for your help, but Haru really needs to go back. Um... c-could you put me down?”

The shy yet polite way she was asking made Yamamoto smile, but he shook his head. “If I put you down, you’ll just run away.”

“B-B-.”

“Besides, you’re friends with someone close to us.” He explained. “And it won’t do if we found out later that you were actually hurt. Our friend would be very disappointed in us.”

Haru, from the corner of her eyes, saw Gokudera stiffen. Apparently whatever Yamamoto said made sense to him and it didn’t look like he was going to object to her being here anymore. But what did this mean? It wasn’t like she knew anyone from the Vongola...

“Do you... Do you know Dante-san?” she ventured a guess.

Yamamoto blinked in curiosity. “Dante-san? Oh yeah, he’s the one who’s the head of this part of town. I don’t know him personally, but I heard that he’s a pretty strong.”

She could have sighed. This meant that it wasn’t Dante-san.

So who was this close friend Yamamoto had mentioned?

“Yamamoto-sama, Gokudera-sama,” a voice called out from the corner of the corridor. A woman in a black suit appeared, her eyes hidden by the dark black sunglasses she wore. She gave them a deep bow before standing up with her back straight, looking attentive and ready to serve them. “The meeting has come to an end and the officials have left the room.”

“And the Decimo?” Gokudera inquired.

“He is still in the meeting room with Xanxus-sama.”

“Che, that bastard,” Gokudera said darkly.

“Decimo?” Haru asked softly when Gokudera shot her a look of shock and anger.

“What the hell?” he yelped. “Don’t tell me you didn’t know anything and was getting involved with-.”

“Gokudera,” Yamamoto said sternly, but Gokudera brushed him off.

“Even you have to be surprised by this,” Gokudera continued loudly. “I mean, all the others in the past knew who he was. But this girl doesn’t even look like she knows anything. What the hell is going on?”

“Argh, that’s what I want to know!” Haru yelled, fighting against Yamamoto until he let her down. She stalked up to Gokudera, looking at him earnestly and angrily. “No one will tell me anything no matter how many times I ask! Even researching about this stuff isn’t taking me anywhere! And out of nowhere, I learn that the Vongola is mafia. What does that mean? Why is everything such a big secret from me?”

“Y-You mean... no one would tell you anything?” Gokudera asked slowly. He seemed to be paling slightly and it was making Haru more frustrated. This guy had figured something out again and she was tired of being out of the loop of everything.

“Yes, every time I tried to find out things about the Vongola, Haru is either rebuffed or given minimal information. Dante-san won’t tell me anything and the pervert is doing a great job from driving Haru crazy each time she tries.” She said in a huff.

“Pervert?” Yamamoto chuckled. “Is that what you call him?”

Gokudera, on the other hand, wasn’t amused. “What? How dare you call someone as revered as the Decimo a pervert!”

“...the pervert is Decimo?” she asked, her eyebrows scrunching together in confusion. “What does it mean to be Decimo?”

“Argh, you stupid woman!” Gokudera yelled. “You don’t know anything!”

“Of course Haru doesn’t know anything!” she yelled back. “No one will tell Haru anything!”

Gokudera could have ripped his hair out right then. “I don’t get why the Decimo wants anything to do with you. You’re so annoying and what person in the right mind would venture outside when told explicitly to stay in?”

“And how would you know that?” Haru asked suspiciously. She never mentioned that Dante-san had told her to stay in.

“It’s required that all civilians stay inside when given the order,” Gokudera retorted. “And with you being who you were, you were probably locked up inside to make sure that you didn’t go out. But still, you had to be an idiot and go out.”

“Stop calling Haru an idiot!” she threw her hands up in the air. This guy was just impossible. He was like the pervert except that while the pervert danced around and toyed with her mind, this person just kept insulting her until she wanted to throttle him. “That’s it! If no one will tell Haru anything, she’ll just have to force her way in to get the answers.”

Gokudera’s green eyes widened as Haru stormed past him. “Hey, wait just a minute!”

The woman in black looked as though she was going to lay bodily harm on Haru, but was stopped by Yamamoto. “Don’t touch her. She’s the Decimo’s guest.”

“That’s right, Haru’s the Decimo or the pervert or the whatever’s guest! And it’s about time she got some answers!” she said hotly. After the frightening event before she had fallen unconscious, Haru had been prepared to grill Dante or the pervert after she met them again. However, because of a certain silver octopus head, she was much too impatient to wait. If the pervert was really this Decimo and if he was really here, she would personally go and drag the answers out of him.

She deserved that much, at least.

Haru turned in the direction the woman had arrived from and walked quickly down the hallway. More guards in black seemed to slink out of the hallway, but all of them were deterred by Yamamoto and Gokudera who would give quick orders that she wasn’t to be touched. Fortunately for her, the two were also lagging behind her because they were being shot questions by the guards. Something about how they had been expecting them or that they should prepare themselves for something.

Perfect. This way she could confront the pervert by herself.

The hallway was long and seemingly endless. No guards seemed to pop out of nowhere anymore and she saw a dead-end coming up ahead of her. Approaching closer, she realized that it wasn’t the end, but that the path now split into two directions.

Left or right?

She looked behind her, but only saw darkness due to the dim light.

Okay, so it was too late to turn back and ask for directions.

Gods, her rashness really was going to get her killed one day.

“Hahi, so what now?” she blew air upward, her bangs flying with the motion.

“Go left.” A voice murmured softly from below.

Haru paused. She was alone here. She was sure of it because she had been looking around carefully in case more guards popped out. Her heart thumped in fear at the possibility of someone attacking her from below. Or maybe it was a ghost? O-Or maybe she was wrong it wasn’t the pervert that was this Decimo, but this scary and mean man. Her eyes slowly looked down.

And her heart promptly melted.

A small child wearing a cute black suit with a matching fedora hat looked up at her with a smile. “Ciaossu.”

“Hello there,” Haru said sweetly, crouching down so that they were eyelevel. What was a cute little baby doing in such a scary place? “Are you lost?”

“I’m not lost. I’m part of the mafia.” He replied and Haru could have cooed at this words. So cute. He thought he was part of this dangerous world. Though it did worry her that such a small child was in this place and could easily be exposed to danger...

“That sounds very cool,” she said with a smile. “By the way, do you mind telling me by what you meant by going left?”

“You’re looking for dame-Tsuna,” he replied. “He’s in the meeting room right now with Xanxus, though he should be finishing up by now. If you go down the left, you’ll meet him.”

She looked at him in surprise and glanced at the left. “How do you-?” she looked back down, but saw that the child was no longer there.

Haru remained crouching on the floor, feeling so confused by what just happened. A child had appeared and given her direction. He had even claimed to be part of the mafia, probably the Vongola. And now, after giving her directions to the pervert, he had vanished.

She touched her forehead. “Haru must be very out of it tonight...”

Then, she got off from the ground, staring at the hallway to her left warily.

So that was where the pervert is right now.

Her chest constricted as the gravity of her situation weighed in on her shoulders. If she had this all correctly in her head, then this meant that she was, right now, in the headquarters of the Vongola. They weren’t some justice force like the police as she had originally assumed. They were the mafia...

A chill went up her spine.

And Dante-san was involved with such people.

Her father was friends with someone who was in the mafia.

Then there was that pervert too...

Gulping loudly, Haru began her trek down the red carpeted hallway. Just because she was a little scared and nervous didn’t mean she was going to back down. She hadn’t been lying when she said she wanted to answers and, frankly, she was tired of how everything was being danced around her.

Paintings had originally filled the wall, though the lights had been too dark for them to be properly observed. Now there were tall, intimidating statues that loomed above her. It made the experience twice as creepy and she felt cold sweat gathering in her forehead.

She took one tentative step forward before jumping up in surprise at the sound of footsteps. The floor was carpeted, but whoever was walking seemed to be grinding their feet to the ground angrily. This didn’t sound like the pervert. He was always so quiet and almost undetectable. She would know since he had a habit of scaring the life out of her by popping out from behind.

Whoever was approaching her was coming fast and she began to panic.

What if it was a guard? Gokudera and Yamamoto weren’t here to deter them.

Or w-what if it was the pervert himself? She wasn’t mentally prepared for this! Besides, she had been the one planning to have the element of surprise!

Haru looked around frantically for a place to hide and was about to run off to one of the statues when the hair in the back of her neck rose in warning.

She instinctively dropped downward, falling to the ground just in time to avoid what looked like a red laser shooting right where her head had been moments ago. Her eyes widened at the sound of an explosion behind her. There was no time for her to even glance back to see the damage that would have been inflicted on her person if her instincts hadn’t saved her at the last minute.

Her attacker was standing right in front of her.

The first thing that came to her sight was a pair of black boots. Trailing higher were pants of a similar color. The person’s legs were long and Haru trembled from the ground, her eyes catching sight of the black tie and the white dress shirt. There was some sort of ornaments around the man’s neck along with burn scars on the side of his face.

He was roguishly handsome, but Haru’s mind barely registered that fact.

Burning red eyes were glaring down at her, his hand wielding a pistol that was glowing with energy.

Oh gods, he was going to kill her.
